It’s probably underrated cus many people don’t watch the old FMA. This song was my favorite ending from the first one and made me cry for a while.

In the last 1,5 years I've lost my parents (first my mother -cancer- a year ago- second my father (possible heart attack) 1,5 months ago) left "alone" with my older sister (My Alphonse) . She's a mother I'm a single hot-headed guy trying to get by. We both tried to cope. Back in the years the first common thing for us siblings was the original '03 FMA and after FMA Brotherhood as well. Those series shaped us deeply in connection and with our connectivity through being siblings. After the deaths we still try to catch some ground to stand on. But tonight I found this song while listening to the original japanese version for comfort half-drunk. And it strucked me deeply. Immediately I sent this to my Sis'. Because the meaning in the back from the lyrics helped me with some questions haunting me in these weeks. And I want her to get as much help as She can get. Thank You for this cover. It means a whole much more lot to at least 2 person in this vast world of alchemy.

Ive always preferred 2003 over Brotherhood (I love them both, 2003 just holds a very special place in my heart) so its really awesome seeing Amalee slowly make her way through all the openings and endings (fingers crossed, holding out hope she'll eventually do OP3)
To be honest the original FMA is still good & brotherhood could have used some more lines from it
Likewise. The OVA feels more personal and real. The entire soundtrack (the song: Brothers) was better, the characters felt more human rather than extremely pseudo-humans. OVA series finale and movie had more realism which was why most people feel more for it. Brotherhood was too magical for me, especially the end but happier and the little girl who could fight among them kinda ruins it for me. I like to compare it like this; FMA (Star Wars 4-6), FMA:BH (Star Wars 7-9)
@@bluebomber671 I love the bittersweet feeling that 2003 carried, I honestly like Brotherhood's ending but I agree it's way more magical and happy, and overall less realistic. But I loved how it was a story of hope, after all, and it really did involve me in the world. I have started with it, then saw 2003 and read the manga cause I was too curious. I didn't like CoS as a finale for 2003 anime though, I felt it was a bit too rushed. Might have been good as a season 2.
@@federicarodolfi5858 I think the Conqueror of Shamballa ended appropriately to its series finale. Everyone wished a happier ending where Ed stays (myself included). But I felt and wanted more with the franchise, with the ending they went with (I think that was the end game for them, a story is good when people want more). Both of the series had some good and bad to them. Others like this more than the first one while the other fans liked the first more. I suppose it is more of our own personal taste
@@bluebomber671 I actually like that part! Of course, having seen Brotherhood first, I imagined it would end in a similar way... But I still liked it and loved how he found his brother again. The thing I don't like it's how it tries to condense too many things into a 2h movie. Like, it tries to establish a relationship with the German Alphonse (loved that) but then he dies and it's immediately forgotten and Ed doesn't even say anything. We obviously know that it had to happed and why, but it still felt harsh.
I also wished we could see more of the villain's power escalation, that looks a bit unmotivated (there are some starting points, but there's a long way to get at her final battle power)
After all I'm just sad that they introduced new characters but didn't gave them the space to shine.
I am convinced LeeandLie makes FMA videos so she can see herself in that dope State Alchemist uniform, it looks so good

You have such a beautiful way of making me better appreciate anime opening/closing songs that might not have been my favorite. This one, for example, was not one of my favorite closing songs. Maybe it was just the way they cut the song for the credits, but I didn't much care for it. I almost didn't watch this video. But the passion you sing with, combined with your lyric translation, makes me reconsider.

I used to watch this and tons of other anime shows on Netflix a good 10 years ago. Ugh I miss these times! This song was always one of my favorites from the show, I remember trying to find an English cover for the longest time but never could. This cover is really close to the original imo, I love it!
