Love that you gave us a way to test the positioning. Never seen that before and it's going to make me brave enough to actually try it, instead of keep watching videos about it. Thank you.
Also something I do is use an old mat and I just engrave my letters on the mat the go behind that and place my blank directly over the letter that we’re engraved to my mat. It works perfect and it super easy.
I have the Brother Scan n Cut and Cricut maker. The Scan n cut has many optional tips like the engraver also and I find it a far superior machine. I loved the video. Thanks!
I so understand your comment. I finally pulled the trigger last November when Walmart had the sale on the Cricket Explore Air . I had to get out of my own head about the cost due to I am extremely Frugal lol. Didn't matter to me that it was the version of the Explorer Air being as though I just wanted to see how things will go , will upgrade later. So if given a chance when the good sales start this fall / winter just go on and purchase one and don't think about the cost. Have fun with it and don't worry about making mistakes. 💖
A million thanks for this video. I've been wanting to try this but hadn't gotten up the courage. I've never done the tissue paper I just take copy paper and put it where I feel set the project to print or cut. Same concept pretty much. Might have to try the tissue paper so I can see the grid easier. I've been trying to decide between stamping engraving and the maker. I already own the maker so I'm gonna try this. 🤪
Wish I had found this earlier today before I tried my first engraving , my machine was off so my engraved words were a bit off center on my blank. Will redo the project using the tissue paper hack, thanks for sharing!
Thanks Angie. I do have the engraving tool. I actually purchased all tips when purchased maker 3 when it became available. I was curious how engraver works. The bracelets look good. The metal seemed a little flimsy. Your tutorials are very helpful.
Have you ever just made a jig so to speak by cutting the rectangles out of paper and then you can remove the inside of those rectangles and place the metal bracelets in the cut out area to know placement is perfect? Seems maybe a bit simpler but i get you are seeing if engraving will be in right place on bracet but i would like to try that method
Great video. just started on the engaving adventure. My Maker refuses to let me pick the stainless steel material. Is there a workaround? Thanks for your input.
Great tutorial Angie and thank you! I was curious about the pressure (maybe it doesn’t apply with this type of metal), but did you wish you had applied extra strike overs on the font?
I'm am obsessed with this! I'm wondering if you need the strong grip mat? I have just got my machine and it came with a light grip mat, but I wondered if I could get away with it if I tape the blanks down.
I came up with a new hack with strong grip transfer tape in another video. That one MIGHT work with the light grip mat. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/CQBpVo86pWI/v-deo.html
@@AngieHolden Thank you so much! I've put a strong grip mat on my Christmas list, but I will give this a go in the meantime. I can't wait to get playing!
Hi there. I need Gold and Rose Gold colors of this blank bungle. I checked everywhere, but could not find it. Please help me about it. Where can I find 'blank aluminum bracelet'? If you do not help me, nobody does, so please!
Just of of curiosity, would it maybe have been easier to set the bracelet on the top of the line so you have a straight edge to line it up with? (for the horizontal) Or was there a reason that you tried to center the horizontal line in the middle of the bracelet?
Either way! I find it easier for me to line it up on the center on my computer screen. But yes you can do it that way but you will need the engraving ABOVE the line on the screen and not on the line.
I've made a few and my only problem is saving the placement. When I go to MAKE, all the wording is up at the top. Help! What am I doing wrong? I have the Cricut Maker.
Why aren’t you using the print cut function to do this? With it, I can engrave a .35 disc for a necklace with precision. I can engrave 12- 1” discs without issue.
I just went in and tested it and I literally didn't know you could put an engrave on top of a print then cut! I still have questions. How do you put the stamp blank on the mat with this method?
@@AngieHolden I wish I could say I am brilliant and this was my idea. Kay from CleverSomeDays developed it. There are 2 methods. This is the most recent one and answers your question. Wouldn't it have been a little easier to align the bottom of the bracelet with the line itself instead of trying to center and making an expensive error?
There's absolutely no point whatsoever in positioning the text so carefully using the tissue paper if you are then going to once more place the bracelets by eye! That's why neither of the eventual engravings were correctly centred, but both too low.
Love that you gave us a way to test the positioning. Never seen that before and it's going to make me brave enough to actually try it, instead of keep watching videos about it. Thank you.
Thank you very much for the step by step instructions and the tissue paper hack to align them correctly. Your bracelets look amazing!!

You have to have engraving lines and NO cut lines in order to pick that material.

@@AngieHolden ok thanks. My closest would probably be sharpies
I looked at the blank website and a whole bunch, some are the washer type necklaces which are curved so do you curve the text in Design Space?
You definitely can! I would draw the dimensions of the blank and make the text fit to it.
I need one, too!!!!!
Very awesome!
Thanks!
How can you do the engraving on other blanks? does Cricut have different settings for that or do you just use a size type that fits the project?
You would just size the design to work on the blank.
Looks great! 🥲but I don't have a maker! I have Joy & Explore Air 2.

You are probably on mobile or tablet. I am using it on a computer here.
I have a question when I engrave my maker just outlines the letters as if to vinyl ? Am I just useing the wrong font. ?
Correct. You need a writing or single line font.
I've made a few and my only problem is saving the placement. When I go to MAKE, all the wording is up at the top. Help! What am I doing wrong? I have the Cricut Maker.
You can't save the placement. You will need to move it each time.
Does the black water based enamel wash out?

There is not a Cricut blade that will do this in the Explore.
@@AngieHolden thank you . I was just making sure .
When you say 3/8, 1/4 … is the thickness of the aluminum?
Sorry. It is the width of the blank.
