I Love Musicals, and there was no stopping here. Every second something happened. A new song, a new problem, solving the problem, and the grand finale. It feels like a season ending really. Let's start Breaking down the episode. At the beginning it started as a song, how everything is gonna be alright... That was an obvious foreshadowing that something bad is goona happen. In this song we found out some things about Ponyville: The sofaclerk is selling quills (its like selling shoes and televisions), the waitress will start tapdancing on the table if you do (the guest is the first), and ponies in this city does not need choreography, they will just go with the flow if someone starts singing (smile). So all of their true selves are messed up, because Twilight casted a spell (uuuuuuu) from a book she got from Celestia, without reading any instructions before. before that happened we got new information about how Spike usually takes 7 hour bubblebaths and Twiligth is a jerk to Postponies. (Maybe Derpy didn't mess up when she made the piano fall on Twilight's head). So this Black book was foreshadowed on the Crystal Empire episode before, when Luna said Twilight is not prepared yet, and she had this book with her. That means they planned to make her complete the spell. What do we know about StarSwirl the bearded? Well he was a unicorn, Had a white beard, Created a lot of spells and Twilight adores him and Luna must have met him, because she recognized Twilight's costume. And yeah he must have invented the Time Spell Twi used in It's about Time. So Twi got the letter that explains there is an UNFINISHED spell at the end of the book, that means it must be unstable, so she casts it without reading anything else? Where is the planning Twilight? Precaution? And she didnt even see the flashing light? So In Equestria magic spells have to rhyme. This made no sense, because this spell worked. And Twilight still went to bed without reading the book. After finding out about the mess she made, she goes into a lethargic state, because she cant use memory spells on them, but after a while she gets over it, hears the word friend, and shows them their memories with friends, and it solves everything... SO... Why couldn't she use the memory spell? Also losing only 5 Ponies, made a horrible mess. By Losing Rarity, they lost the fabolusity, the clothes. I think this is the least worrysome lose. By Losing Fluttershy the animals she kept would wreak havoc after a while, so i think Rainbow did a great job at least keeping them at home. By Losing RD the weather got messy, which makes no sense, cause there are a lot of weatherponies and pegasi in Ponyville. They could just make the weather appropiate again after Rarity messing up. By Losing Applejack, they lost at least half of the food and drinks. That farm is the main food income for Ponyville. I guess there are others, but still a huge lost. Now for the strange part: Applebloom and BigMac did not help Pinkie AT ALL! Why? Also if all those appletrees and crops died, that means... They were like that messed up for at least half of a year! Did we get any context how long they were swapped? And the worst part is Losing Pinkie Pie. She is now the heart of Ponyville as canon. Without her everyone is an angry stressed mess, noone can do their ob properly. She didn't even have to do anything, they started smiling just by seeing her. And another choreography flashmob. Then Twilight gets the other part of the spell.... I mean someone (khm Celestia or future Twilight) whispers it into her brain (telepathy). And the strangest part here. This part in the starry sky confirmed all of my suspicions about Celestia. She has spirit images of Twilight's every movement. That is why she could send tickets to the Gala at the Ticket master Episode. She knew every single movement of Twilight and her friends, because she is a stalker. Also the spell did not make Twilight an Alicorn.Celestia did not use magic, that means someone else did. And that someone has to be Discord. My guess is that Twilight was an alicorn to begin with, But Celestia took her wings away being scared that another Nightmare night would appear as Twilight. That is why she made her learn Friendship, and by learn i mean teaching Celestia too. Twilight already had the power of an alicorn and it has nothing to do with RD's sonic rainboom. It just unlocked the power Twi had in herself. That means her magic was cropped too beforehand, but seeing that she can break the locks Celestia Placed she started to watch over her and getting her "as a student", so it wouldnt be too late to step in if things get worse. But things changed when Twi changed her sister back by unlocking her power yet again with the elements of Harmony. Thta's right, it is all Twilight's power, the elements are only there to unlock her power. As we all see when they use the elements all the magic concentrates on her, while it could concentrate on Rarity too. This makes sense, because unlocking the lock placed on her spirit,needs a special feeling, the bonds she made. That is why they could not defeat Discord, while the elements would otherwise work. She didn't feel the bond between them. There were times when Celestia needed to look out for Twilight, like the one episode when she went crazy about helping people and learning about friendship. She was a threat to all Equestria. even without her power she knew about the mirror pool which would make her be able to create an endless army of crazy unicorns. So that is my theory, that Twilight was an Alicorn, Celestia locked her magic away and took her wings as a baby, but she has proven herself, the only problem that Celestia no longer ruled over the elements, so she couldn't unde her own spell. she needed Discord to do so. Twilight's Parents and brother were not surprised at all. They must have knewn all about this. The only ones surprised were her friends. Wait... Can it be that...Trixie's uverly rude behavior and third person comes from an other way? She is a unicorn and seemed to have a grudge against Twilight even before she met her. Her magic was overly weak too... Nah, it is just my imagination, if i'm going too far into my thinking i'll end up in the middle of the swamp of Fanfiction... So back to the story. Twilight is an Alicorn Princess now, she knew how to fly from the moment she got her wings, and her last words were "Everything's gonna be allright!" I know that there is a season four and season five is on air, but when this was aired, i am pretty sure a lot of fans thought it is over. It felt like a finish to the whole series. The season was shorter too. As if the production was cancelled and had to make the grand finale fast.... But i know the truth, thanks to the comments. The season was shorter, because the upcoming movie (which i'm gonna react to) needed time too so they cut some time from this season to be able to concentrate on the bigger project. Thee are some other hints that it is not finished yet: "Equestria games" hint-hint... This change opens some possibilities for Twilight. I'm pretty sure tat RD will try to race with her as well as Scoots might try to get her to teach her fly. But we (i mean I) dont know anything about that yet, we will see... Hoo boy, this episode threw me for a loop the first time I saw it. I already knew what was going to happen going in, but that didn't stop me from getting a little emotional during "A True, True Friend". I still get a little teary-eyed with this one even after all this time. Only one other episode has had a greater impact on me, but I'll get to that one when I see your reaction to it. Also, this was originally meant to be the series finale.
The true true friend is still one of the best songs in the series, it is actually on my phone and i listen to it from time to time. And yes, i've heard about some people arguing that this is where the seriesh should have ended or after season 3 they cant acknowledge it as the same series (which is stupid in my opinion), but seeing how much popularity the show has gotten (mainly not in the target demographic) they continued the show. Obviously i'm happy they did.
Okay, so when Twilight disappears do you all think she had to pass death in order to be reborn as the new Alicorn like a God. Because the Alicorn's in this universe are like God's deities. And before that she was but a mere unicorn. I remember something in the old Greek myths that stated a hero who had to die and then he came back almost full God levels, kind of like with Hercules and others who have passed deaths door and come back stronger but different. I think in order for an Alicorn to be born they had to pass series of test and studies true, but they only become one after they have passed on. I mean Celestia never seems to age and neither do the others much. I mean they age but very slowly so slow that it's basically like there gods. And in this case the girls. Earth, Pegasus and unicorn are kind of like mortals like in our world. We are humans, so in their realm that would be similar us a bit, so in order to become an alicorn, it's like passing on to the other side and coming back reborn as a Goddess. I don't know that what my theory what do you think?
