Interesting, I've been a fan of Greek Mythology since a child and always been fascinated by the Hellenistic pantheon. It's good to hear a podcast about that side of the pagan circuit.
Mythology means myth
Mythologies are abrahamic Religions
Hindus civilizational site's, architectural temples & history is still you can witness with your eye's .
I really wish people would stop projecting modern socia-political ideologies onto our history. Such as her projecting feminism onto Greek mythology. Indo-European culture, including our religion, has always been patriarchal. People who don't like that shouldn't be subverting our history and faith. It's disrespectful to our ancestors
EDIT: When she got off the topic of feminism, and started to speak on the actual topic, she showed herself to very knowledgeable and I learnt from her. I must give credit where credit is due
Greek polytheism is really the most Whole of all forms of pagan practices. Because unlike the Norse and Celts and others their writings were not polluted by Christianity and it's destructive terror mob. I know that they did destroy some but fortunately Islamic conquerors salvaged a lot by translating them a thus preserving them. Great talk and excellent guest Bria.
I find this a pretty odd and perhaps reactionary stance considering greece and the greek peoples in fact exported, by way of being conquered by Rome, in it's entirely, the organized and highly rigorous practices of Christianity through the remainder of the western world. By the time that Christianity reached the banks of Albion, Britania and the isles, Rome and Greece had an intricate network of church based statecraft. The -only- survivng writings on greek antiquity detailing their myths was from Pseudo-Apollodorus, and later Homer. Much of our knowledge of ancient Greece is extrapolated the same way it was with the Celts and Norse---through the views of their neighbors works at the time, and our discovery of later works, and archeological finds that corroborate these practices or views.
