In Twin Falls, ID there's a gorge like this with a bridge across it... different though in that it's much more pleasing to the eye with all the greenery. Didn't know we had something like this so close to home though so that's kinda cool. May have to take a ride out to see it..
It is about 600 feet above the river. V=sqrt (2W/Cd p A), probably not enough height for your main parachute to open, but your reserve chute is supposed to open within 400 feet.
Again, thank you for, what seemed as if I was with you, a trip to my youth. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember a tram that I took to the bottom of the canyon. It was long ago...thanks again for the ride.
Visiting Taos, October 1992, didn't know the bridge or the gorge was there. We were driving on the "64", nice cool day, had the windows down. About 1000 feet from the gorge I could *feel* something different in the air... the hair on my arms stood up... hard to explain but it just felt like something *big* was up ahead... then we were on the bridge and we were amazed and of course we had to stop, spent about a half hour just looking down & around and taking it in. I couldn't help but think about how explorers long ago discovered this mighty gorge, on foot or more likely on horseback... You know how a horse will rear up when it senses something dangerous ahead? That's what it felt like approaching this incredible place.
Love that bridge I once saw a few folks walking on the rails out there! Taos is an amazing place!

I walked across that bridge a couple of years ago at sunset she was beautiful but scary at the same time

As the Rio Grande Escarpment is expanding I was wondering if the road crews find an expansion joint forming on either side of the bridge?
I really like how all of your videos are slow and steady not herky jerky like some others. Well done!
My stomach still gets queasy just watching. Been here a few times.
pretty place ..i live in santa fe..

I wonder how far it is from the river to the road in feet. That is a good drop.
Around 625 ft, maybe not exact but pretty close.

Took family for a visit ...i am afraid of height but was quite interesting , saw it on the Movie “ The Signal”
Have driven across this once back in the early 90's- wasnt expecting a gorge, just the river. Scared the peewaddle out of me! :)
stopped at the bridge in April 1990, and there was a Jeep in the bottom by the bridge . it was stolen by a thug that killed the owner
Good
