I’m not here for the blooms either, you’re giving us loads of great insight not only into roses You are honest sincere friendly with truly natural flow of speaking It’s always good to listen to you , thank you 😊 Keep it up 👍🏻
Good info Jay Jay! I do get my roses directly from Tantau and Kordes through their on line web. I also get almost yearly their rose catalogues and I can see there is no elaborate garden pictures, not like David Austin, catalogues itself before it is in demand because of its beautiful garden presentations. I’m planning to go back to this place called Bad Nauheim. It is the place where 6 rose breeders are located and all have show garden. They also have different roses from different countries. I’m looking forward to see your next video. 🌹🌹🌹
Nice to hear you are back safe, hope not too much pressure on video makings. I have actually asked one breeder why the show garden is “not that shining”. He told me he can’t afford flower-gardener any more. Many gardeners these days are only “cutter”,waving electric saws.
ALWAYS enamoured by the blooms, Lovely Videographer, but I myself, and I'm certain others, besides me, feel the same way too, that, that is imost certainly not the sole reason for us viewing your wonderful videos, it is as I have stated before..... I/we are here because the man you're giving us is the polar opposite of the man ure giving to your roses. Your videos are without exception, pictorially splendid, informative and thought provoking, which equates to BLOOMIN' interesting content delivered in THE utmost genial, charming, friendly manner. Glad to both hear and see you are safely returned. ❤️🌹🚗🌹❤️
Wow witty Peter such kind words. Thank you. I should have gone with my gut even in an i10! I honestly think I could have made it work. But it’s done now. That Tantau visit is finished I’m just waiting on an enquiry I made to them. When they get back to me I’ll upload that visit. kordes will be a separate video. But thanks for the kind words witty Peter. Very touching :)
Hi Jay Jay, Glad to hear you managed to do what you'd planned to do and got back OK too. Plan 'B' huh? Writing this on Tuesday and it's a bit too hot out there to do things in the garden today; 27'C+. Only mad dogs and Englishmen..............but not this one yet. Roses looking really good. Cheers! P.
As I have no sense of direction, I'm full of admiration for you driving abroad. You men seem to take it in your stride. Bet you were glad to get back to your beautiful roses.
I was back a day early lovely Wendy, that was the gutting thing. But yes glad to be back. Another 3 or 4 days and I hope that bed will be looking nice. (I’ve been saying that for about 6 weeks!). You could drive on the continent easy. Germany within the towns can be a little tricky. On the main road you have to give way to the right from the side roads. It’s really odd. The problem is you don’t have to IF there is a special sign present. OR another special sign present, OR if there is like drainage valley it’s confusing. But great roads and great systems they use.
Wonderful surprise 🌹❤️ Thank you very much 🤗 I checked all history videos from my doorbell for today and didnt see you ))) Only that a rose is appearing from nowhere))) Probably you were wearing an invisible cloak))) Harry Potter style ! Thank you for beautiful stunning rose 🙏🏻🌹❤️
I'm sure that the video will be great, there is always next year for a road trip Vlog, and it will give you time to plan and get thing's 100% ready for the trip, rose road trip Vlog's sounds like a ace idea mate :D
Yeah Meilland in the south of France! I’ve driven to st tropez before I’m hoping I can pursuade mrs Jayjay to come with me in the motor home. Then a week on the med. :)
Got to admire your energy and enthusiasm Jay Jay - I often can't be bothered to drive the few miles to our local garden centre. I love that Timeless Charisma - I'm always on the lookout for a decent red --- rose or wine. Or is there a better one? After you've sorted the video of your German trip perhaps a trip around your garden next?
Haha you know what I promise you I very nearly done one this evening. It was the most beautiful sky and evening. Some new roses were looking decent but I’ve uploaded a lot of late and don’t wanna over do it. But I’m hoping one of you have for me to enjoy that was a fantastic evening. Timeless charisma a great rose. This past few days nice and fragrant also.
I live in The Netherlands and when I go to the UK always travel on the ferry from Dunkirk. A much more relaxed drive in and out of the port and at least half an hour less driving than going to Calais. But, the point of this is that approximately 40 minutes from Dunkirk, heading for Brussels, you have Lens Roses, the largest rose breeder in Belgium. It is right next to the motorway, although you do not really see it. They also sell roses by other breeders. They have a good website. Their gardens were pleasantly set out although I think few will compare with the D. Austin ones. In Michael Marriott’s rose book for the RHS he features quite a few Lens roses, the newer ones registration name (in the book shown as ‘cultivar’) start with Vel…… The Dutch do not have any large rose breeders, mainly sellers, although I do love my very vigorous, very healthy, repeat flowering (two flushes), scented, white climber ‘Paragon’, bred by Marco Bruin. Have you ever heard of an English rose breeder called John Scarman who has lived in Germany for many years? He is located at Landhaus Ettenbühl, not far from the border with France and Switzerland. A very nice garden to visit, with a good café and a shop. they sell many roses but, to be honest, when I went my interest in roses had not yet started so I hardly looked at what was for sale. I do have one Scarman rose, Scarman’s Golden Rambler, a very pretty but not terribly strong plant. Or I just have it in the wrong place … Best of luck on your next trip!
That made me smile. Thank you. 3k is great for me. When I had 33 subs that was the perfect number. And I’ve said that as every week has past. It’s always been the perfect number. ;)
summer romance looks beautiful!!! glad rd trip went well, home safe! we are on here for the blooms but you too of course!!! do you prefer Kordes or D Austin?
Hi there Lazarus. I don’t prefer one over the other. They are both good and slightly different. I’m glad I purchased many kordes in my garden they are a little tougher. The da flower a little more regularly. So they work well together.
to be fair, im not here just for the blooms. your commentary on on individual roses throughout the season is invaluable information. keep doing you, don't listen to that guy please.
@@Jay_Jay OH I see , ...it is quite beautiful when it opens up ans I didn't think they were the same rose as the very dark buds. Thank you for answering back . I can't find any for sale in the USA right now so I will have to wait. Thanks also for your wonderful channel !
Hey Jay Jay you made it back safely…I think the whole marketing and breeding from Tantau and Kordes is very different than Austin etc…both Breeders sell most of their Roses over Gardencenters and the Internet, I know in Steinfurt were the Germany official David Austin Gardens are at Rosen Dräger they have very big show Gardens with lot of Tantau and Kordes Roses…sad you didn’t make it there it’s near Frankfurt and they have incredible displays…
Yes I agree completely I think they operate very differently. And yes sad I didn’t go to see the show that sounds interesting. But I’ve visited many of the breeders now and that’s Tantau and kordes both ticked off my bucket list and glad I went.
Sorry, I could hardly pay attention to what you were saying b/c I was so distracted by your gorgeous, lush roses, love the Kordes Parfuma line, Earth Angel, Summer Romance, Pr.Alexandra, I have them all & I hope that one day mine will be as gorgeous as yours! Loved the Tantou video, can't wait for the Kordes to pop up, going to go check on the cte garden & a dog to see what you bought her. Speaking of dogs---how is Seanie (Shawnie?), haven't seen him, is he OK? You are having a Bad Car month but hope all that is fixed.
Too bad you had such a horror trip! And what a shame that the visit to Kordes and Tantau was so unspectacular. It's not comparable to David Austin ... maybe next time to Schulheis in Bad Nauheim? There's a big rose festival there every two years.
Hi Isabel, the trip wasn’t a horror, it was just a challenging drive one way. And the visit wasn’t unspectacular, I enjoyed it. It was much as I was expecting. But yes next time I will get more in. I will look at Schulheis. :) That sounds interesting.
Thanks for the road trip. Looking forward to the Kordes 🌹video etc
Cheers mate

Looking forward...❤
Wow .wonderful. waiting for kordes and Tantau visits videos

That’s sad to hear Hina. I hope things start to turn around for them. Or if they don’t I hope they make things turn around ;)

Yes that dark red one is dark desire. Very fragrant. :)

What is the name of the red rose in between earth angel and dark desire ? I need that one badly ! It is very goblet shaped . 😊
Hi. Dark desire is next to Earth Angel. So the red you see is dark desire, but it only had one flower on it when I filmed this.

Hi zhanna, yes I hear this that is sad to hear. Last year wasn’t great and now this year also. We can just hope things improve. It’s not July yet. :)

Wanted to say something along those lines. Rosenhof Schultheis and Rosenpark Dräger are both in Bad Nauheim and I always enjoyed my visits there :)
