Got a strike from YT. Must have said something patriotic or flew our American flag.

Watching this made me re live a hunt i had a couple yrs ago with a buck about this same size. I was torn up and breathing hard like that and shaking to. What made matters worse though is i wear glasses and with the cold weather and my nervous hot breath they kept trying to fog up really bad. I got the deer but it was so intense. He was with a young doe in that last little jolt of rut before it's over and that doe was also just about to walk right into my wind but i got on him just in time. I love to watch them but sometimes it's just easier when it happens fast before you get time to get so torn up. lol I enjoy the channel, better luck next time on this one!

When you start shaking uncontrollably like that, about the only thing you can do in a tree stand is take deep breaths over and over and sit down if you are able to. Try to think about anything other than the size of the buck. I try to focus on when I am able pull my bow back to concentrate on my form and focus on my shot placement. Watch the vitals and ignore the rack. Perhaps when you get does and small bucks coming in, practice like it is a shooter coming in. Do everything you would normally do if you were going to take a shot. That buck hasn't gotten that big on pure luck. He is going to be very hard to outsmart. Really focus on getting in and out of the woods with as little scent and sound as possible and pay attention to the wind while your on your sit. I like to stay seated in a stand until I know I might get a chance and then slowly stand up and get my bow. I used to get buck fever bad but now as I've gotten older and using these techniques I am able to stay more calm and focused.

I shot a giant buck like that at 10 yards this year only to find him chasing does the next day. Shot just barely too high! Those giants are insanely tough.
