Love this group and this song. One of their other songs you should react to is “The World I Know”. It deals with mental issues - hopelessness and thoughts of suicide but then seeing a sign and getting a glimmer of hope. I think you’d like it.
I've been listening to this band for 25 years, great music. Run and Needs I benefit you would like from these guys. They are my two favourites.

This song played on the radio so much when I was a kid that when I was like 8 I could hear it playing in my head while I was trying to sleep. I'd go cry to my mom that I couldn't sleep cause that dang "heaven let your light shine down" part would play over and over in my head 🤣🤣

Dolly Parton (surprise!) did a really good cover of this AND won a Grammy for it!
I remember when this came out and radio would play it flat out the "yeah" part would often be yelled out by the boys in the work shop and often see who could do it the loudest and funniest of " yeah'" which was became yep, yes, uh huh or something along those lines
Gel, December, World I Know....the list goes on. One of my all time favorite groups. Great in concert too!

I liked this band so much that I drove 500 miles to see them at the Beale Street music festival in Memphis. Then the next year they performed at the Indianapolis 500 racetrack (close to my house!). So I went & saw them again. 😀

This song is one of the best examples I know of how great sounding rock and roll can also be deeply spiritual.
They have so many good songs! Anything off of their Se7en Year Itch greatest hits collection is worth a listen, as well as "Welcome All Again."

Collective Soul Blue album I think every single song on that album is Awesome.
Also might want to check out the group "Fuel" if you have never heard them their orange album is all good songs. Came out about the same time as Collective Soul,.. both fabulous groups didn't get far in society as far as I'm concerned, they should have been as popular as the Beatles And The Beach boys.

So glad to hear Collective Soul! I saw a concert on cable TV they did with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra and it blew me away! Hope you do more, especially "The world we know". And I would love for you to react to one of the most underrated groups ever - The Call - especially the song "Let the day begin". Love your reactions, really fun to hear some of my favorites from another perspective.

Collective Soul definitely rocks. Run or Listen are good next songs but they have a great deep catalog of hits.

I never considered until you stopped to mention it the pacing that’s just chill and consistent and not over the top, but definitely interstate song or a great karaoke song to get the whole building involved no matter how bad you can sing

Always loved this song, it is very nostalgic for me, reminds me of being in grade school, this song was everywhere on the radio and mtv.

The video has the guy from Nine Inch Nails chasing Bowie. Who BTW worked on the music score for it.
Also get around to "Father Christmas" by "The Kinks" for Holliday Season.
I recommend "Gel". It's one of my favorites.
Remember seeing this first on Headbangers Ball and thinking, “this shouldn’t be on here”, but still rocked. Great band

A few years ago I met the band at a casino in Reno NV. I had gone to pick up tickets at will call for that nights show and the band came out of a restaurant after eating lunch. They were all such nice guys.
Listen to "Where the River Flows" by Collective Soul ... that song rocks hard and its awesome!! But all their stuff is great

Love me some Collective Soul. This was their breakout hit, but they went on to have a long career following this. Their follow-up self-titled album was amazing, and they are still making music. In fact they just released a new album about a month and a half ago.

It's my favorite Collective Soul song. I HAVE heard a few others that I really liked but, unfortunately I don't know the names of the songs.
