Thank you Luke...so many You Tube/ Instagram folk are out of touch with what is really happening in the world. The cost of living crisis is causing so much anxiety and your lovely, real life helpful content is much needed. Xx
That spaghetti had my name all over it! I’m English but lived in Italy as a child. We ate a lot of simple pasta dishes, as long as you use the freshest ingredients that you can afford you can’t go wrong! Keep up the good work. X
Luke, this is another great video and one I'll save in my UK trip planning folder. I'm in the US and don't think Waitrose prices are that high in comparison to shops here. I'll def support them when I come across the pond. ;) The way you cooked that pasta.. that's a new one for me and I love it! I'm definitely going to give it a go this week. Thanks! Much love always, L
Oh wow Luke so pleased Waitrose are partnering with you, I worked for Waitrose for 8 years in one store then about 2-3 years in multiple other stores around the UK predominantly Oxfordshire, and I can’t stress enough how you’re perfect for them!! You are such a wholesome UA-camr with your food content and your food styling, I love it and they really ought to be snapping you up, as you present your cooking, recipes and ideas so beautifully. I really hope they use you a lot more in the future, and they get you on their advertisements on their UA-cam channel too to really ramp up your following! Here’s to some scrumptious festive recipes for autumn, Halloween and Christmas hopefully again working with Waitrose too 🥰 cannot wait to see it all. Keep up the good work and keep smiling Luke! Xxx 100% makes me wanna go mooch around Waitrose btw and make those recipes especially the pasta one, and the quesadillas… oh and that quiche !!! 🤤 xox
I absolutely love Waitrose ! I do all my main shopping there ..then go to a ‘cheap ‘ supermarket for my brands …as they are the same wherever you buy them 🤷🏻♀…I used to like m&s but have really found them to be lacking the last few years 🙈🤷🏻♀🤷🏻♀ I think it’s a preconceived idea people have that Waitrose is ‘not for the likes of us ‘ ….which is crazy !! I’ve been using them for the past 10 yrs and will continue unless their quality goes down …which I can’t ever see happening !! …ALSO !!! I just want to add that during the lockdown they were absolutely hands down the best supermarket for me !! Being disabled ( in a wheelchair ) it was really hard to get my shopping but every Waitrose driver went above and beyond to help me …and really they were life savers ! They were the only people I saw for over 6 months and really kept me going ….so just a Huge Thank You !! To the Waitrose home delivery team !! 💗
I would love to have Waitrose in South Africa. The food items look amazing and their publications and recipes wonderful. I equivalent is Woolworths but you need to keep an eye on what you buy. The Essential range looks excellent.
I've always considered Waitrose expensive, a treat shop for a special occasion. I am genuinely surprised at so.e of the prices you showed. Love the idea of the tart and the spaghetti. I don't eat beans but do make a quesidela type dish and your recipe looks easily adapted. More recipe vlogs 🙏 🏴
My dear Luke these meals look wonderful. Even though I live in Northern California. I can purchase and make these meal but would cost more than what you paid. I wish I had a Waitrose to shop in… lovely budget recipes. They are lucky to have you. Have another good and happy . Love and blessings always.
I used to live near a Waitrose and was surprised how many offers were on at Waitrose and pretty good prices or their essential range. I like their own fish fingers
Wow, I was blown away by that grocery store it reminds me of what we have here at Whole Foods. I think each dish you made looks absolutely delicious! Zara is lucky she has someone who will cook some very good meals. I could not believe they also have a cookbook if you scan and get that for free. I missed Maggie in this one though.
Work for Waitrose as my part time uni job, it’s honestly so hard not to spend all your wage on all the little nice things they sell. Will definitely try out these recipes, also where’s the Mini Cooper !!!!!!!
Hi Luke wondering how you have been all week. You and Zara are in our thoughts daily . The simple things will bring more happiness. I'm heading to visit family in few weeks in Manchester if flights are a go.
Hi Luke hope you had a fab Sunday we haven't got a Waitrose where I live,I would be in there looks really nice.all 3 recipes looked yummy I'm in bed watching your channel... now I'm hungry 😀have a lovely easy week luke and take care xx xx👍💕🌞🐕
When they send you money off coupons they are on things that you regularly buy, for instance dog food which I was buying because it was cheaper than Tesco so the discounts are good
Hi Luke gosh cheap groceries there here in NZ it would be 65 to 70 odd dollars. Love your recipes. Just had quiche and salad for tea. Have a great week😃👍
Thanks ror video Luke, i used to work at John Lewis so when I retired I did all my shopping at WR during Covid with home delivery, the drivers were amazing as well, their essential brand is fantastic value for money.
I have previously considered Waitrose as my ‘treat’ shopping go to for the more specialised ingredients but lately I have been using them for more of my everyday day items. I like each of your recipes but the quiche appeals the most. Thank you for the ideas.
Excited about this one. We are so behind no calculator that was magic. Good buy for the products. That corn pie looks amazing. Our corn season is in full swing. My hubbie would love it. I bet that lemon pasta would be freT with chicken or shrimp. Yum.
Really enjoyed this video Luke! It's fun to see what Waitrose has to offer as I'm from Canada. I would love to have some recipe cards available at the grocery store. Love your content and congrats for working with Waitrose! :)
Hi Luke! I think it's really nice that Waitrose has that hand held scanner to help you shop. That's really convenient. Our grocery stores here in the U.S. don't have anything like that. I also have to agree with you that I also like picking my own produce. I'm not a fan of having them pre-packaged at all. Your recipes looked yummy as always. Thanks for sharing with us. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊
Ahh absolutely! It’s super handy for keeping a tally on your cost too - so you don’t go over if you’re working towards a set budget🧡 I love loose fruit & veg for that exact reason. Big love to Texas x
Love this Luke funnily enough I was in a waitrose the other day thinking the prices were not too off the other supermarkets.. I'm gonna try the recipes this week thanks 😁😎😉
There is definitely a catch to watching at 4 in the morning. LOL! All of these look wonderful. I know the exchange rate isn't correct but I tend to look at a pound to dollar exchange as 1 to 1. That way my brain doesn't freak out. When you purchase a larger quantity you have more in the pantry so you won't have to buy for the next recipe. Saves you even more.
I’m absolutely here for 4am food videos haha! Ahh yes, I know it’s sometimes tricky with US measurements & currencies but you’re absolutely right. It saves so much money
im really surprised at your total bill. its good you can buy items singularly, like the pepper etc, i find buying 4 means there's a possibility of wastage. Excellent and helpful video. You do Waitrose proud!!!
Thankyou for the reply back why don't you do recipe just on what's in store cupboard pantry we call it in Liverpool some people are finding it really difficult and using food banks at moment may be come up with that idea on your videos by the way are so inspiring to me love your videos ❤️
Hi Luke .my daughter works for waitrose and last week I was doing an online tesco shop,as I was telling her the prices she was telling me the waitrose price and 7 out of 10 of the waitrose prices were cheaper than tesco, mainly on their fresh products but I just thought I’d share.
Yes I prefer loose veg... you don't always need bag of something so much easier just being able to have 1 ... that why I like waitrose or farm shops..... food looks yummy you've made x
Brilliant Luke, I don't usually shop at Waitrose but I remember a few years ago my mum was poorly at Christmas and hadn't shopped, so on my way down I called in at a Waitrose & got everything we needed for Christmas for about £60! I was amazed. I will have a look to see where my nearest one is & visit! Xx
Ahh I love that Mandy! I was lucky enough to try their Christmas range that’s being released this year and it’s all absolutely delicious. Some truly special dishes🧡
We have per ounce prices here in the states which help us determine when something is a good deal or not. My husband taught me that while we were dating and we still ise it to keep our grocery budget down!
Hi luke thank you so much for your waitrose video! It reminds me our holidays in a flat in London with my husband a few days ago; going to waitrose for us was a real routine ! We agree about the price and quality; so bad we haven't this in France! And I will test your recipes very soon 👌🙂
I’ll be trying all of these recipes! They look delicious 😋 Won’t be going to Waitrose as it’s a bit far so sainsburys it will be! Where did you get that apron from Luke? I need a new one!
According to Which magazine, Waitrose is the most expensive supermarket but if you are used to shopping in M & S probably little difference overall. Hi Luke thank you for this video I love trying your recipes. I love the look of the corn tart and the quesadillas so will definitely be making them. I don’t have a Waitrose our nearest one is about 35 miles away I usually use Aldi as I find the prices good there but I can’t get everything in there so usually go to tesco or Morrisons for the other things. I’ve also heard sainsburys is really good but I always found it expensive so I’m going to try it next week. Your food always looks amazing. I hope you, Zara and Maggie are all well? . I really enjoy watching your videos so inspiring. Thank you. Have a lovely day 🥰
Great that they have loose fruit/veg. It's difficult when you are shopping for one, and everything is in big packages, as it then limits what you can buy without being wasteful.

Hello Luke, really good video BUT it is not so much about using reasonably priced quality ingredients (which is important) but the actual cost to make using your oven hob etc. I have not seen any actual chefs even on tv progs talking about this cost so not just you. Items may cost £2 to buy but an additional £1.50 to make. Giving an approximate cost for this could be a unique bit of content to your videos - To get the edge over other cooking related channels. @@LukeCatleugh just to add ,buy a copy of Antonio Carluccio’s pasta book he’s the go to man! Hope you do manage the move one day. X

No true because Waitrose have smaller packaging sizes. Everything is way more expensive
@@cy8997 I don’t think that’s correct, they are standardised sizes across all supermarkets per portion
@@cy8997 fresh food like potatoes and fruits you pay for separate worked out cheaper. Pre packed stuff will always be more expensive.

I would just like to point out (I'm sure it's no new news to many of you) you need to be extra careful when buying virgin olive oil. Usually stores mix it with 'regular' oils to keep the price quazi affordable (and the customer is buying 'olive oil' and thinking it's a great deal). Cheeky. I come from a very olive-oil-producing region in meditteranean and the farmers always pack them in dark/black stained packacking as the light can degrade oil quality. Also all the virgin oils are much darker than this, they are almost dark yellow-green. What I want tp say - just make sure you are paying the affordable price and actually getting what you are buying. 👍😊 no disrespect to anyone 😊
