- Today I do something a bit crazy. I try to emulate the Amiga using the DOS program DosUAE but inside of a x86 emulator 86Box. Will I get it working?

MikeyG, when I emigrated from AmigaDOS to MS-DOS on PC (because Commodore went bust and I thought the Amiga would be extinct in no time, and because I wanted Doom so badly), I considered MS-DOS a MASSIVE STEP BACKWARDS, like going back to the STONE AGE!
Love it! Remember playing around with different emulations in UAE and even though it is a bit hit and miss. Some of the stuff does actually work, reasonably well. Even though it might be considered rather, pointless, it is rewarding to know that it can be done. People used to say to me, why do that and my reply was. Because i can.
WinUAE is NOT "hit and miss", it works perfectly well for EVERYTHING if it is configured correctly, and I have. Even if it doesn't, keep two or three different versions of WinUAE around and make your own comprehensive launcher program for Windows as I have, and you're set!
I have installed this emulator and works great. Easy to configure and fast. The bad side is no savestates.
That's cool...would have been nice to see Workbench running in the emulator.
I love this video, too...
I love doing the crazy 😝
If you make the VM a VHD you can open it in windows explorer and drag and drop, unmount the drive from windows reboot the VM.
Ah thank you, i totally forgot you could do that. Great tip :)
on an emulated P166 the sound is just fine, I think a p120 is just slow enough to cause issues.
ah good to know, :-)
What about using FreeDOS with this emulator on real hardware ?
