“The Impact of Sweetened Condensed Milk on Children's Healt”
Thesis
Nowaday, sweetened condensed milk comes in various forms, unique flavors, and brands. Its affordable price often attracts mothers to buy it as an additional food source for their children. However, consuming it too often and in large amounts is not good for children's health due to its high sugar content. Unfortunately, many parents still overlook this and continue giving it to their kids.
Argument
Sweetened condensed milk is not designed for regular consumption by children. While it contains protein, calcium, potassium, and vitamin D, the amounts are much lower compared to milk products formulated for children’s growth needs. On the other hand, sweetened condensed milk is extremely high in sugar and calories, which can lead to obesity. Excessive consumption can also strain the kidneys due to high sodium content. Moreover, it may cause insulin resistance, where the body cannot effectively use blood sugar, increasing the risk of diabetes. This puts children at higher risk for serious health issues; there are even cases of young children requiring dialysis.
Reiteration
Given these harmful effects, parents should be more mindful when choosing food and drinks for their children. Sweetened condensed milk is not suitable for regular consumption as it poses more health risks than benefits. Instead, parents should opt for milk specifically formulated for children’s needs, offering balanced nutrition. Additionally, encourage kids to eat natural, nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, and sources of protein. Drinking plenty of water is also essential for maintaining overall health.
Recommendation
Therefore, in my opinion it is better to avoid excessive consumption of sweetened condensed milk. Let’s raise awareness about choosing healthier and more suitable milk products for children to ensure a brighter, healthier future for the next generation.
