Complete Guide to scoring in ALL Coliseum modes: *Arena Scoring:* 1- Base score is calculated by the BST of the units you deploy. The higher the BST of the units you use, the higher your max score will be. Merges and IVs count towards this, but Ascended traits, Dragon Flowers and Summoner Support DO NOT! Keep in mind that certain skills, such as the Duo and Legendary Duel effect, and also the Duel 4 Passive Skills can increase the base BST of a unit who has one. 2- You are required to run a Bonus Unit (this unit is rotational and will vary from season to season) and get at least ONE K.O. with that Bonus Unit in every fight. 3- Legendary Heroes of the corresponding season can further increase the score of your units by equipping the matching blessing. You can effectively run up to 2 Legendary Heroes of the matching season to further increase your score, although 1 Legendary Hero is more than enough. 4- The SP Cost of your Weapon, Assist, Special, Passives and Seal are also a factor in scoring. The higher the cost of these skills, the higher your arena score will be. Prf Weapons score 400 SP at base, while all other weapons (including Arcane weapons) score 350 SP when refined. Currently, only the Distant Counter (D) seal costs 300 SP, giving Dragon type units a bit of an advantage in terms of arena scoring. 5- You CANNOT allow any of your units to be K.O.'d during your fights, as this will decrease your score. 6- If you happen to have the Bonus Legendary Hero deployed, this will automatically enable all of your fights to reach your maximum potential score, preventing the need for score fishing. It also allows you to let one of your units be K.O.'d per fight without suffering a score penalty. ----------------------------------------------- *Arena Assault:* 1- Your base score is calculated the EXACT SAME as it is for Arena mode, meaning you want to deploy a Legendary Hero (or 2) who's blessing matches the current season, have all the highest scoring Passives/Skills/Seals, have the maximum possible merges, and have the correct blessing equipped on your non-legendary Heroes. 2- This base score only applies to your FIRST fight, thankfully. Afterwards, the remaining 6 fights are a free for all where you can use whatever units you want with whatever skills you want. Merges no longer matter. 3- You can gain an additional point for each unit you deploy in every fight who has a blessing equipped that matches one of the 4 blessings on rotation. There will be 2 Legendary and 2 Mythic seasons on rotation at a time. 4- You CANNOT allow any of your own units to be K.O.'d in any of your fights, as this will decrease your score. Thankfully, you do not need to worry about any Bonus Units or Bonus K.O.s in this mode as you do in Arena. ----------------------------------------------- *Resonant Battles:* 1- You can increase your score by deploying up to 2 Harmonic Heroes who match the corresponding titles of the season. Merges on these Harmonic Heroes will increase your score even further. You are free to use more Harmonic Heroes if you want, but only the 2 you deploy with the highest merges will raise your score. 2- You can only deploy ONE unit who has a sing or dance skill equipped. If you deploy any more, your base score will decrease for each one. 3- You must rout all the thieves before they escape the map. The standard enemies are irrelevant, so you don't need to defeat all of them. Focus primarily on the theives. Your score increases by 10 points for each Theif you defeat. 4- If any of your units are K.O.'d during the fight, your score will decrease. ----------------------------------------------- *Allegiance Battles:* 1- Your base score is calculated the exact same as it is for Arena, so Legendary Heroes, Blessings, Merges, Max SP Skills/Seals, etc. are all a factor. 2- Pair Up Heroes play a huge factor in this mode as well. The unit who you deploy in slot 4 will automatically be assigned a Pair Up partner from your friend list. You are free to choose any of your available friend units to pair up with the unit in slot 4. 3- Besides the freebie Pair Up Hero you are provided with in slot 4, you will also need to deploy at least ONE Legendary Hero with the Pair Up ability to maximize score. 4- You want to be very mindful of color matchups in this mode. Your unit in slot 4 should not color match the Legendary Pair Up Hero who you choose to deploy. You also want to make sure that the unit paired up with your Legendary Hero and your unit in slot 4 are also a different color. Make sure that you have a Red, Green, Blue and Colorless unit all linked through Pair Ups. 5- For every K.O. you get in this mode with color advantage, your score increases. Your score also increases when specifically a unit who is Paired Up gets a K.O., so basically EVERY single K.O. you get in this mode needs to be with a Paired Up Hero who also has color advantage. Each K.O. earned this way will raise your score by 15 points, for a possible max of 150 points. 6- You also CANNOT allow any of your own units to be K.O.'d, as this will decrease your score.
You should have stressed that 300 SP skills are skill cost from a unit's base kit. When you inherit from one unit to another, the SP cost would show 450. There is a 50% increase to SP cost from skills to a unit it was inherited to. Gold border skills, and Distant Counter (white border) skills are examples of 300 SP skills.
@@UsainWolt Literally the same as arena modes. The only difference is Mythics score as if they are merged an extra +5 or +10 times, depending on the season. Can be a Major (+10) or Minor (+5) season. For example, sometimes a Major Dark season will appear, the corresponding Minor Light season will also happen. So your Medeus (Dark Mythic) will score as if he is +10, and however many merges he also has at that point, up to another +10 merges, total +20 merges. All other characters will score at their base value, not including blessings, as those don't matter.
Probably should have waited til aftee we get the new unit type to make this video. In case the new skill slot has wonky effects on scoring or not, or if it's exclusive to those new heroes or whatever IS decides to do with it.
Here is a well kept secret, seasons are always a set water/fire, earth/wind, fire/earth etc. While you can only bless a unit for one season, Mythic units can count as if bless with both. Example Legendary Elincia (wind) Legendary Fjorm (water) can be pair Mythic Eir, Mythic Sothis on a light/dark season or Mythic Reginn and Mythic Arval for astra/Anima. What this does is ley you maximize pulls from Legendary/Mythic banners as you get units that can be use in both modes.
Same I never really invested in legendary banners (which I honestly don't have much of any regret on early on where there was no sparks or things like that plus they didn't have pair up, etc) but having a +10 more modern legendary is definitely something I should work towards investing into
Thanks for this comprehensive explanation, Tacho. I've been struggling knowing the concept behind this via the game8 site and related simulators but your explanation fleshened everything perfectly!
Tacho, if it weren't for this video I would of still been in t19-20 hell. All those notes and the use of the calculator really sums up how to do it all effectively. Cheers man
Thanks for the video, it clarified a few things I was confused about👍I always sorted units by 'Rating' and I always pick the 3 with the highest number, usually Yen Fei +10 (235), Reyson +10 (238) and Rearmed Alfred (243) plus the bonus unit for that week. My score nevwr goes over 752 and I've never managed to get beyond or stay in tier 20😅
Great breakdown and very informative! Random but I notice you sometimes have NBA related vids in your feed when you start off your video 😅 so glad the season is about to start again, these off seasons feel sooo long!
I remember when skill inheritance was added and seeing random Counter skills on units that have no business having them. Learned later that was for Arena scoring and I was like "wow thats kind of a bad way to formulate scoring" and started caring less about it lol.
To be fair, there are three instances where I actually got bonuses in Arena. Lucina, Heroes released in Ver…1? And Brave Corrin. Basically, Brave Corrin was my cheat code. In…beginner difficulty.
Thanks for the guide, until now info was scattered across several video and text guides. I'm happy they gave us a way to avoid score fishing, the stupidest feature of this game. But when I don't have a bonus legendary unit (P2W btw), I just don't try scoring anymore and only go for the chain rewards. It's just a waste of time IMO. Also, since blessings are so scarce it's hard to always come up with a well rounded team depending on the bonus units. Definitely room for improvement on the way IS is managing scoring modes...
Very informative, but honestly, I think I'm going to be content staying between tiers 18 and 20. Every time I try to go above tier 20, I get so frustrated dealing with these threats that I decided never to do it again to preserve my mental health.
Max dragonflower investment with Alfonse has made him aggro enough that he tends to make meals out of Edelgard's. He does demand a lot of strong skill inheritance, and mine demanded being fed a Bernie and runs Pavise over Galeforce for consistency, but he 1v1's all Edelgard's if he initiates, and still wins against non-triangle weak matchups if they initiate on him. Big sad there is no 500 sp version of Pavise for the big score. Getting +7 in all stats from dragonflowers really carries the man at this point lol. As for B!Alfonse, I think Resonant battles is his bread and butter outside of the 99 atk/def stats by the first enemy phase shenanigans he can pull during light season. He is able to reach back row and take out all thieves and opposing units himself on the highest difficulty, making him a fantastic unit whenever Heroes OCs are a bonus for the mode. Thank you for the video as the mechanics explanations were absolutely wonderful. I do wonder if you'll be making another video like this should updates or bugs be discovered about the modes come about in the future.
I didn't knew you get extra points in AA for using blessed heroes 😂 I just play my 3-5 matches for the rewards and that's it Also in AB I just kill however the heck I want
Off topic for algorithm, but question for everyone. Not too recently, I have returned. I mostly have my footing again. I was thinking like, saving 3k orbs and splurging in a legendary banner (all 20 pulls) or maybe I can do it in intervals of 1k. Either way, I will be holding off on summoning for long periods of time. Not sure if this is the greatest of ideas, so does anyone have any other summoning practices? Other than wanting some 3-4* merge projects, Im fairly happy with what I have now. Though admittedly, most of my 5*s are outdated.
Legendary Banners are usually the way to go if you want to do a massive summoning session for +10s. The Double Special and even the Remix banners are pretty good now, too.
Wait, it's optimal to run two legendary heroes? I've been running one this whole time thinking I'd score lower with a second legendary. Fml this game does a terrible job explaining how it works. Do they have to be the same type or could I run one Water and one Wind Legendary for this season?
They would have to be the same type. Think of it in these terms: 1 Legendary Hero + 3 Other Units = 3 Blessings (1x3) 2 Legendary Heroes + 2 Other Units = 4 Blessings (2x2) 3 Legendary Heroes + 1 Other Unit = 3 Blessings (3x1)
Not sure if this is answered but just to be clear, after starting arena assault. Does every unit have to have the corresponding blessing or just one of them and its good to go for more points?
Yes, but only when its their Mythic season and you have a Legendary unit on the team who is also in season. Basically it counts as if the Mythic Hero has the Legendary blessing
They are the only bonus heroes that are always guaranteed to be on rotation, so you could look at it as being worth it. Its difficult to get kills with them though, unless you run Arcane weapons on them and don't mind scoring slightly less. The GHB/TT units are also guaranteed to be on rotation after they release though, and typically they just have stronger stat lines and score potential.
Scoring in Arena is such a silly trap. First off the rewards for placing high are miniscule compared to just getting rank 18 every week, and secondly the "best" units for scoring are often times the least versatile, so you're sandbagging yourself by bringing the highest scoring units rather than the most cohesive team. This is why I've totally given up on the mode and instead just click "Beginner" and get my 5 wins for the week.
Its not that bad. Cyril is a very competent option, and he's one of the 4 highest scoring F2P units we have access to. Arion is also super competent, provides warping support/charge, and scores really good.
@@tacho9427 Don't get me wrong, I like that they throw us a bone every now and then. Feels good. I just wish scoring was a reflection of how well you did rather than what units you brought to the table. They got this right with Summoner Duels, they just need to apply it to Arena now.
The scoring page is my savior but you didn't explain well the scoring. You only gave the intels which is to use 1 or 2 legendaries, go for high BST high SP skills and max merges. It's important to remind how the BST works in the game, though people could go for the page with the heroes. Also, saying that the SP scoring works for each 100 points is useful when it comes to builds, not to mention that the SP value is the original cost, not the inherited one. And even mention the value of each thing: 1 Blessing= 2 merges= 400 SP= 20 BST As a tip you should check the defnsive score as if it close to a number divisible for 4 you could rather increase your score range wihh some changes or gave up on one rally + assist for a movement assist.
