@@RagingInsomniac Haha I mean it’s sounding very soft and beautiful compared to Heir Apperent which is very dark and brutal! I was not refering to lyrics or anything only the feeling I get from the music itself! Lovely song to play on my way to work with the sunrise ahead:)
Excellent reaction! I figured when you got to these two, you'd thoroughly enjoy them. It's so true about having a favorite Opeth song, but this one for sure is in my top 3. While I do close my eyes, and listen intently, I don't have visions of anything, but I sure do get a heck of a lot of goosebumps and chills, and feelings of wonder.
Swedish:) have a good night!
@@perholmqvist1456 I don't go that far back at all. It's only been about 2 years, but like you, I've been hooked ever since. You have to take a listen to individual and all songs of Protest the Hero through their album Fortress. What you're expressing at 8:56 is right in their box. Or even Symphony X - The Odyssey, Periphery - Alpha/Omega, Rush - 2112, Yes - Close to the Edge, Haken - Visions. There's so much for you to explore in the prog world. Welcome to the club of crushing your brain by delving deeper and deeper into a sonic story
Watershed is my top favourite (though tough competition!) by them. Thoroughly enjoy your reactions and am now a proud subscriber. Curious as to which classical prog bands you've heard except Yes? Also, since you love this kind of eclectic stuff with loads of shifts in various directions, I'd recommend Between the Buried and Me and also a newer Swedish band who took the prog metal work (who ever finds them) with storm: An Abstract Illusion. BtBaM do frequent wild shifts. AAI are more cohesive but still use VASTLY different styles as tools in their musical painting ❤
😊 Seeing you sitting there enjoying Opeth like you do I just can say congratulations. I know them for quite some time now, but still I can be mesmerised by their music. You're absolutely right when you say that the top5 or top10 songs can fluctuate. Next song of this album is also a roller coaster. It's called 'The Lotus Eater'. Begins like a lullaby and than quickly turns into everything you wanted to hear in music and more... Cheers.
Yeah. Nathalie Lorichs has made some beautiful solo stuff as well (heard her perform live with Mendez, Axe (on acoustic guitars) and another female singer) . She even performed with legendary Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord (R.I.P.)
Coil is the most uplifting song I’ve ever heard! And then it drops into the most brutal side of Opeth haha😍
if this sounds uplifting to you, then id hate to know what sad means to you lmao

Heir apparent belongs in a horror movie
An epic opening from my favorite opeth album, every song is a ten for me.

I don't hate your mustache. I feel like I should, but I don't.
LMAO thanks I guess?
Hell yeah man! I’d recommend April Ethereal next, it’s on the same album as When. It’s definitely in my top 5 Opeth tracks.
Opeth only give you good, great and masterpiece lvl of a songs and no bad one lol
Opeth=Movies
"20 songs in one" was kind of normal back in the day. Lots of Beatles classics are like that.
I identify with those Cowins :)
If you didn't know the female singer is the girlfriend of the drummer at the time of recording.

nice reaction 😚
If you liked Coil, listen to Damnation album starting with Windowpane, you will not regret it.
Sorry but I've already listened to the whole damnation album on my own time. I'm reacting to all of their other works though.
If you like songs that seem like 20 songs in 1, might as well go ahead and listen to Black Rose Immortal lol
