You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life
see that girl, watch that scene
digging the Dancing Queen
Friday night and the lights are low
looking out for the place to go
where they play the right music, getting in the swing
you come to look for a king
Anybody could be that guy
night is young and the music’s high
with a bit of rock music, everything is fine
you’re in the mood for a dance
and when you get the chance
You are the Dancing Queen
young and sweet only seventeen
Dancing Queen feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
you can dance, you can jive
having the time of your life
see that girl, watch that scene
digging the Dancing Queen
You’re a teaser, you turn ’em on
leave ’em burning and then you’re gone
looking out for another anyone will do
you’re in the mood for a dance
and when you get the chance
You are the Dancing Queen
young and sweet only seventeen
Dancing Queen feel the beat from the tambourine, oh yeah
you can dance, you can jive
having the time of your life
see that girl, watch that scene
digging the Dancing Queen

Imagine being 17 when this was released in 1976 and now you’re 62 listening to it again. I can’t imagine the feels 😢
I was 11, and it’s still as good now.
I was 16 so am now 61. It still sounds as wonderful today as it did back then.
I'm 17 years old and I love this song 💋
It is not necessarily a sad feeling, if that is what you think. With all the shit that happened then and the following decade, music like this was what kept us going.
I was 21 when this was released. Visiting my cousins in Stockholm, I still remember their room being plastered with ABBA posters! And for good reason!
This song is over 45 years old and it never gets old. Timeless.
Old will
Never be old. Okay?
It'll never die, the ABBA'S legacy will be eternal
Takes me back to the 70s my chidlhood days
Somehow I just recovered my old Facebook that was hacked.. yay
I heared it when it was released and still love it.
Who will be listening in 2025 ?
✌️this song will never grow old❤

“Young and sweet only 17” don’t make me start crying
At 17, you don't feel young and sweet. You feel old, gray and sour.
raccoonization I’m guessing ur 17? Trust me I felt like that when I was 17 but boi I’m 21 now and I can tell u 17 was young and sweet and I took it for granted.

Well, at the time ABBA made this, there surely was someone somewhere saying the exact same thing.. Someone's always younger.. the hard truth, is that they ARE able, you're just out of the loop
Check out the band Ghost, hard rock/heavy metal but heavily influenced by ABBA. Their last record was recorded in ABBA's old studio and has a song or two with ABBA's old piano and other instruments used in certain songs during the recording of the album.

I'm 61 in 2024, still love ABBA, and I always will as one of my all time favorite groups. My mom died on Thanksgiving Day last year from brain cancer, she was 80. ABBA was her favorite group, she was a huge fan of music like this. Now my Mom dances in Heaven as a Dancing Queen. So when I get to thinking about my Mom, missing her, I can go back in time and remember her by listening to ABBA. Thank you ABBA for being part of my childhood growing up with your great music, and helping me get through my Mom's passing. You are family to me. This coming May 12th is Mother's Day, my family's first without Mom. But ABBA will be there to help me remember Mom. I will always cherish the memories of my Mom dancing with us boys when school was out for the Summer when we were young,Mom would be in the kitchen, or doing laundry or some such, then Dancing Queen would come on the air, and she would stop what she was doing and call us boys to come dance with her while the song played, and she would sing to the radio as we danced with her. My Mom had a beautiful singing voice, and at one time, was semi professional along with my Dad and his band. But my Mom had to stop to take of us boys, keep the house, etc. She chose to do that, no one made her do it. Now, I would gladly give my eyeteeth for just one more chance to dance with my Mom as Dancing Queen plays. I miss my Mom. RIP Mom. I love you. 😢
I am so sorry about your Mom. Like you and your Mom I have always loved ABBA. God bless you and cherish your memories of your Mom, so precious 💕
I'm sorry for your loss. I just lost my Dad on Valentine's Day. I'm listening to this music right now because I'm feeling nostalgic too.

I'm 55. I was born in 1969. I look young for my age. Many of my friends are 27 to 42. I also have a DJ business. Learned to DJ to electrohouse music in 2005. Alot the youngsters hear electrohouse songs and think they are the best songs ever created. Then I show them the orginal song of the 1970s where it came from. It blows their minds. I've created alot of young fans of the 70's and early 80's disco era. I drive up to places in my car blasting Disco out of my windows. Blows people away! I get alot of wierd looks, then I start seeing them pump up and down and I get a couple of "Great music" or "What song or group is that". Plus when I get to DJ retro themed parties.... oh... i blow them away with my mixes of disco music with a rapper on top of it. My favorite thing to do, is stay home alone, open a bottle of wine, and listen and watch these old videos. It's like time traveling!

@@ordjk4797 Jesus, young people really do say some obtuse things. If hip hop is made for the "general audience" then who the hell is Abba made for? Because last time I checked they were a hugely commercially successful, mainstream pop group that has mass appeal. Why did you feel the need to attack hip hop specifically? Perhaps if you took the time to look into the history of popular music you would understand how influential and groundbreaking the emergence of hip hop in the late 70s was, a time in which groups such as Abba were releasing music that pretty much piggybacked off of African-American culture, effectively appropriating black music, selling it to the masses and generating a fuck tonne of revenue in the process.
The funny thing is there were people who despised Disco during the "disco age" with a passion, offering the same reasoning you have for your dislike of contemporary music. Such people are referred to as "hipsters". :)
ABBA is still a legend in 2024
(I think also in 3916 😍)

I absolutely love the 70, 80s MUSICS !! 🎶 ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ I came to America 🇺🇸 in 1978 as a Vietnamese refugee boat people, a 10 yrs old girl after living under the Communist regime for 3 yrs at the end of the Vietnam War 1975 😢
I just finished my 1st memoir, a series of 3 books, Trilogy about my life before, during, and after the Communists took over Vietnam 🇻🇳 I'm currently working with my Editor + Publisher, hopefully it'll be launched on Amazon, Apple, Barns & Nobles sometimes in June/July 2024❤
Forever wishing I was a teenager in the 70's, 80's and 90's :(
Delilah Marie same!
That's my point exactly. I hate that this generation is suffocated in social media and technology. No need to come at me with degrading terms, it is just my PERSONAL opinion. :)
Delilah Marie It was a horrible place back then, dinos walked the earth, feminists ate men, satan lovin heathens were everywhere.
LIES! Feminists still eat men in 2016!
