    I lay my foam on a rubber mat on the ground and spay it with a garden hose to remove all detritis. I came here wondering about the red blood worm found in my filter material.

    In the U.S bloodworms are common fish food. That's crazy that someone would think that they're bad. That's great fish food. I have a filter in eat pond that I purposely don't clean often just so they start breeding. They don't breed in the clean filters. Is there a way to raise them without being in the filter? Like an actual breeding tank?

    • @thekoipondexperience1259
      @thekoipondexperience1259  3 роки тому

      I actually want to breed them as well. But still have not tired. That black biofoam you saw in the video, they like to stay there. I collect blood worms from there for the wife's venus flytrap.
      If I were to breed them I'd put more of the black biofoam that you see in this video.

    Sir how do you condition your water before you put it in your pond? What do you use to dechlorinate?

    • @thekoipondexperience1259
      @thekoipondexperience1259  3 роки тому +1

      My daily partial water change is really little. I estimate it to be 5% of the total pond volume. At that amount I getm water from tap and I don't use water conditioners.
      When I do much more partial water change say 10% I use Seachem Safe, the powder form. You see my only water source is from tap and the chlorine content here in my area is so high you can smell it in the water coming out of the hose. Seachem takes care of the chlorine and its affordable too.

    How about Tubifex in our filter medias?

    • @thekoipondexperience1259
      @thekoipondexperience1259  3 роки тому

      Hello Franz, I have not experienced tubifix naturally living in the filter media. Has this happened to you?
      Tubifix presence needs attention specially for goldfish. The goldfish is susceptible to the bacteria present in the tubifex, the usual effect is white spots for goldfish. If not given proper intervention might be fatal to goldfishes.

    Hi sir. Question po. Saan po ba talaga makikita or magtatambay yung blood worms? Possible po ba na makikita din sila sa Biological filter?

    • @thekoipondexperience1259
      @thekoipondexperience1259  3 роки тому +1

      Mas madami yung blood worms sa mechanical filters, dun kasi mas madami food nila. Pero meron rin kakaunti sa biological filter.
      Ang blood worms red talaga even if yung baby size pa. If white yung nakita mo it's not blood worms. Need to identify aling white worms yung nakita mo. May white worm kasi na hindi mabuti if present sa bio filter.

      Medyo wide ang possible cause ng flashing. Pwedeng sa water quality, pwedeng bacterial or parasite. Need natin malaman alin dyan yung cause ng sayo.
      If sa water, assuming maayos naman filter system, we can try no feeding for 3 to 5 days. Sabayan ng pag linis sa mechanical filter chambers at the start. Expect natin sa mga araw na yan gagana yung beneficial bacteria sa filter at aayusin nila yung water mo.
