Nice tutorial! To change the camera speed, you just have to lower the number next to the camera icon at the top right of the viewport ;)

This is great, thanks for this. One thing I find odd is they make you do such a small FoV in the MH Identity which kind of gives a fishbowl type view of the mesh, so it makes comparing the two images kind of strange. It also seems like that just adds an overall girth to the face and head too, so maybe I'll play around with trying the same mesh but one with the 20 FoV and one with 90 and see if there are any significant differences. Now I just need to rope my son in to be my guinea pig. ;)
Now if they could just fix the animation so the heads and necks actually work, that'd be great...

Hi, thanks so much for this video! I ran into an issue which I should have accounted for before but I'm on a mac and can't download the metahuman plugin. Any idea for a work around on this? Thanks!
you need to install a older version of unreal 5
It's neat, but it doesn't seem very accurate - looks like generic approximation, but it's maybe because of free file? Or because hair was included? It seems it only used the parts that were highlighted in Green, but eyelids were off anyway.
They charge on the Polycam app to export, so how did you get your model for free. Also how many images of yourself did you need to capture via that Polycam app? awesome job by the way
There is one file format that is free, is not an fbx so you need to take that into blender as I showed
@@MR3DDev I located it, it’s gltf or something like that. They also give you like 8 free attempts at creating images/scans. Then I guess it will default to the pay wall only.

Amazing video. I just got the iPhone 13 but after seeing this I'm considering getting the Pro for the Lidar thing. Are the results much better with Lidar? I'd like to use your technique for my games in Unreal Engine!

Tried on an iPhone 12 Pro and it doesn't seem like current LIDAR is detailed enough for facial scans

My scan came out bumpy as heck. Ridged triangular bumps, which seem to have even baked this into the texture. Even if I smooth the surface, the odd tri face shadows still remain. I took 35 photos--the overall scan seemed very clean, other than these bumps. I exported in high (one below Raw). Do ya'll know your way around this? Thanks in advance and thanks for the video walkthrough. EDIT: after meshing and exporting into MHC, it looked fine. The artifacts from before were irrelevant.

Hi,
I got problem about mesh to metahuman. When I tried to import my metahuman created with mesh, I can download only. After download, when I tried to click add button inside quixel bridge in UE5, I can not take any reaction. Also when I check files about my local files, uasset files have "uasse" type. Have you any information about that?

Usually a restart of the whole engine will fix this.
Hey thanks for the tutorial. Even though my MetaHuman compiles after downloading, I’m getting an error that the “skeletal mesh” variable has been deprecated. Is there a fix for this? Can I ignore it, or will doing so cause problems down the line when I get to the animation phase?
You can just ignore it but I will make a video on that soon

Metahumans is free with unreal engine 5? And we can export our models to out computer? I'm just asking because this seems like the easier option compared to other blender tutorials.
Metahumans are free but they are to be used with Unreal Engine for final rendering, you can take them out to tweak and customize but the final product needs to be rendered inside Unreal :)

I have a question. I start using 5.1, but I can't find "Metahuman Identity" to make Metahuman from Mesh. Did they remove it?
From what I've read and tested...seems that Epic still did not release an update for the Metahuman plugin
@@edsonmoraes7667 And iClone live link also cannot be used in 5.1. I just noticed it. I'll stay with 5.0 for a while so that I don't have to waste my time. Let me know when those functions come back.

Great Post bro! For some reason when I import my fbx file, the material and UV map don't come with it. The material is jut blank and the UV doesn't even import. I followed you step by step- any idea of what could be wrong?

You can but metahumans are only supposed to be used in Unreal :)

@19:35 getting an error at this step (mesh to metahuman) in UE5, it says "error while executing the mesh to metahuman service". Tried everything from turning off anti virus and firewall to uninstalling and re-installing the metahuman plugin etc but error persists. Pls help!

@@estellepearce2721 Yes, it got resolved on its own, tried for 4 days multiple times, finally it did process. It was a server issue from Epic Games itself it seems.

is better to google it instead of looking for it on the marketplace
airdroid and airmore good app's to take things out of iphone in the same wifi network. No accounts needed. Iphone becomes server and you can access files from your computer browser.

I can't get it to process the solve. It's an obj scan of myself without texture that I've used. This should not be an issue surely because it doesn't use the texture file??
Why you guys NEVR wear a hair stocking before doing a 3D scan is beyond me....

I only deleted parts of the mesh at the start and I showed how :)
