I think the alchemy is about Travis too because of the football references but also because she calls the other guys "blokes" which is British slang for guys. Here exes are all British
The album was announced before The Super Bowl, so the trophy mentioned in "The Alchemy" is probably not referring to The Vince Lombardi Trophy (Super Bowl Trophy) but the AFC Championship Trophy, which Taylor was on the field with Travis, when he received that trophy.
@@murphash29 Good point, as he beat my beloved Philly Eagles for one of his Super Bowl titles. I was just focused on the time they had been dating, when Taylor would have witnessed the trophy presentation. But it’s possible she could be referring to the fact that he has won the ultimate trophy, and is “The best in the League”
For me, The Alchemy is undeniably about Travis. Outside the obvious football language there are references to specific things. Shirt off in celebration being Jason at the Bills game, Childs play back in school being Travis' past immaturity with getting kicked off the team and having some bad tweets come out, Blokes on the bench is a shot at Matty and Joe because the English dudes are now riding the bench while she and Travis are on a winning streak, the trophy line would also apply to the AFC Championship that happened before the album was announced, and the heroin with an e is referencing that she went from Matty who's vice was drugs to Travis who's vice was her. I also think it being about Travis fits with the narrative progression of the main album. The first handful of songs are seemingly drawn from her experiences with Joe, then the next bulk of the album seems to be drawn from her and Matty's "relationship", and then it ends with Alchemy about Travis and Clara Bow about herself.
It is. It is being said that is what the song is. About her budding romance with. Kelce and the deep attraction they have had for each other. Their Alchemy.
"Zoe, you're amazing! I can't believe how well you've dissected all of these songs. You've done an awesome job and I'm officially a Swifty as an older lady. Oh my gosh, I love watching your videos. Thank you!"😃
I prefer the second half for sure. The album itself is good. The more I listen to more I am enjoying it, won’t lie. First listen I found it hard to enjoy because it felt like a flat evermore sequal. However, the more I listen the more I like it.
Actually, I described it as a slightly up-tempo version of a Lana Del Rey album. And people online agree with me. In short, comparing _The Tortured Poets Department_ to many earlier Swift albums may not be valid.
i honestly think the Alchemy was at the very beginning of their relationship when she realized that things were starting to really blossom between them (who are we to fight the alchemy) and the whole trophy thing was just her making reference to the fact that he was already a champion that had trophies but would run to her idk, but I definitely think it's about her, it wouldn't make sense about anyone else with all the football references
@aswiftlook I'm so happy for the both of them. I've been through hellish relationships, just to find my true partner. Knew it when I first saw her. Wishing them nothing but happiness
I know nothing. But I did see where someone said Teenage Dirtbag was performed in American Pie and it was reported they sang that around the fire pit in his backyard?
I think the reason for the Kim song is that Taylor was minding her own business. She is kind to people and doing her thing. Out of the blue she finds herself set up for no reason by Kanye and Kim. But, not only did they do her dirty they destroyed her reputation, her career and her. She left the country and hid out in a rental somewhere afraid to be in public even abroad. She turned off her phone and was even afraid to trust her friends. She did not know who to trust. She was so alone. Being known as a snake and a liar by the world when you did nothing wrong. Having everyone on the internet condemn her had to have been vey traumatic. I feel what Kim - who Taylor never thought was an enemy before - turn on her and with Kanye try to destroy her career and her very self really ripped her apart. It changed her. I doubt she will ever be able to move on completely from it. Or if so she will be an old lady by then. That is why she put up with Joe's nonsense for so long. I did not know anything about this relationship but, from what I gather the guy was probably nice at first because he offered her refuge of a kind. But, he also stuck me as a bit selfish, self involved and not very understanding of her needs as a person. It seemed it had to be what he wanted and she wasted many years on this. Partly as a safety blanket, just like living in London full time did, from Hollywood and the sniping and carping critics in America. Once she left him and came back she stayed in NYC (smart girl. NYC is far better than LA). Wish she would make NYC her home base again with trips to KC - which is far better than LA. It's been many years since I've been to my hometown but, KC has always been cool. I am happy she met Kelce. He is good guy. A lot of the cranks are always trashing him simply because he acts like a typical guy - especially a sports guy. Not an intellectual and depressing bore. He's fun. Funny. Smart. Hard working. And adores Taylor. And I think Taylor has lost her heart hard for him.
I think the song about Kim Kardashian maybe b/c it was addressed in the TIME magazine & ppl, meaning fans & not necessarily fans of her music, but pop culture channels like 'Popcorn Planet' addressed how Kim Kardashian has yet to apologize to Taylor!!! The TIME interview, THE TRUTH really resurfaced & reached much larger audience of what Kim did to Taylor w/ Kanye West!!! And it's shocking how she STILL hasn't & seems to refuse to apologize to Taylor. I think Kim even took another shot about her!!! Its also why, I don't want a player from The Ravens to go to the Chiefs!!! Odell, he's a receiver & has been in a rel'ship with Kim Kardashian. He's the opposite of Travis & is much quieter. But I can't c him going to the Chiefs. I think Kim also made fun of Taylor's dancing & both Travis & Jason Kelce responded on social media!!!
Tell me the first time you saw me could be a reference to Jason’s retirement speech about Kylie. She’s looking forward to that special kind of relationship with Travis.
This! And on the Kylie episode Jason describes the first time he saw Kylie walk through the door and Travis says "I want to feel that. I want to feel those fireworks." My reading of that lyric is that he has given her his version of that story and she's asking him to repeat it to her.
@@DrOzzy15 he had that whole press conference about the mustache and 87 jersey when he first met Taylor. I believe it was in reference to how people could do Taylor Travis costumes.
I was watching a live stream when the album dropped. At the end my conclusion was that (it was 16 songs at that time still) if she were to tour with those songs that a counseling session should be included in the ticket price or that she should travel with a small army of counselors for the after concert care. 8:06

I think “The Alchemy” is about her returning from he British seclusion to America to retake her public position as America’s Sweetheart, the IT girl, HBIC, etc and I see the football references as being related to Travis but more about how that was a mechanism to her living her life in public again.
I think its about both. Her being back and here and open, plus living her life with Travis as a new beginning. The Alchemy is definitely her and Travis.
In So High School, I like the repetition of “You already know”, an expression that Travis seems to use a lot.

" Shirts off" may be a reference to Jason
Travis is the man

Love that you’re going to wait a few days to go through the other anthology songs!
There's just so much there!
I can’t see anyway the alchemy is not about Travis.
Thank you for your review of TTPD. This album really caught us off-guard.I thought she was planning a Taylor's Version "reputation".🧡
Thanks for watching!🫶

@@DrOzzy15 that makes a lot of sense timeline wise. I’m sure the song was written before the speech. That was such an awesome episode.
The Chiefs won the AFC Championship before the Super Bowl. I believe they got a trophy for that, too.

Definitely
the alchemy is number 15 on the album and 8+7 = 15 and his birthday is the 5th October so another 5+10=15
The line “I will circle you on a map” and the whole Taylor put Travis on the map bit that people did makes me think it is about him.
Yes, we have to remember she started this album when Kim and Kanye trashed her name and she left for another country. She was in deep pain.
I don't think anyone will really know the depth of the pain Taylor suffered through. It traumatized her for sure.

Is this TS12 or TS11.5
Alchemy is defentitly about Trav
I think he’s had Taylor on his radar for a while…
I stayed up till like 4:30 am to listen, and I wasn't at all coherent in my voice notes about it.... 🤍
