  • What a better way to start the mushroom season than to pick a great haul of Saffies (Saffron Milk Caps). Still waiting for those porcini to pop up.

    I highly recommend to look for pine trees, since these bad bois grow under them alot

    Any recipes you recommend for these guys? i see em around in autumn but i just dont know what to cook with them.

      We just fry them up with olive oil and garlic then finish off with some butter. Season with a pinch of salt.

      Simplest way is pan fry with olive oil, garlic, butter and a pinch of salt. We also put them in hot pot or stir fry with other vegetables.

      Actually the pine forest was planted by Forestry SA for the purpose of logging the trees for timber.
