- Celebrating our daughter's 2nd birthday. What a fun day starting with opening presents. Yes, the camera was a huge hit. Followed by her birthday brunch surrounded with family. A trampoline park before bedtime is a home run. She took the best nap before dinner, birthday cake and of course more presents. My parents that live out of state surprised all of us when we came home from the trampoline park. We were so shocked and so happy. It was the best surprise. Elodie's 2nd birthday was a wonderful day filled with wonderful memories.

I think I know what happened to the cake. When you put the baking soda, which was your leavening agent for the cake, into the hot honey and butter mixture, it foamed up and you killed the baking soda leavening power. So the cake didn’t rise. Thanks for sharing Elodie’s birthday. You guys are always so adorable. God Bless!

I can’t believe she’s 2 already, but I can’t believe mine will be 2 next month also. Where does the time go?! I loved following your pregnancy and birth with Elodie while I was also going through mine. My other daughter is 10 years older than her little sister. So it was like starting all over again.
I also have another one on the way. First (and last) boy due in April!

I love to cook not bake and that's why we both love make up .. baking is an exact science, cooking is a craft that allows creativity as does makeup.
When I did bake cakes when my kids were little it wasn't the cake flavor that was so good it was artistic. I made characters such as blue clues , Clifford the big red dog, trains, power rangers. The cakes were beautiful, but I had to add extra oil to the recipe to make them easier to shape, so the taste was okay but they looked beautiful.
