Me and my wife will be sailing on the Sky Princess for our first cruise this March 4th 2023. We Opted for a deluxe balcony on the Marina Deck and have a aft facing room M725. With this being our first cruise ever we have been watching all of you're videos to try and gather as much information as possible. So thank you truly for all these amazing videos!
Watched this again, tonight as I don’t think Holly had seen it before, and we are going at the end of January. Very good and informative, and right to the point.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. We are sailing on the sky princess in December and really looking forward to our voyage. Keep sharing your content you are by far the best subject matter expert when it comes to cruising.
We prefer the older Princess ships with full wrap around promenades down low where wildlife is visible. Nowhere to sit close to sea level in shade on a lounge chair on these new ships.
Very good Garry, thank you, looks a lovely ship, we like Princess. Just did the Regal on a Baltic 11 days from CPH in August, was absolutely fabulous. Going on a 16 day of Norway in 2021 on the Island Princess.
Thank you Gary, very nice tour. We have been on the Royal twice and this looks like a nice updated version of Royal. Hope to be on her someday in the not to distant future. 😎👍
We cruised in princess and omg the luxury the plush experience the food on regular dinning room above and beyond quality and we not strangers to the Ritz Carlton or expensive restaurants this princess brand has this down service , food , entertainment, relaxation clean rooms clean sheets that smells amazing is a dream come true .. as we went to st kits, st Martin Tortola getting out was nice but could not wait to get back in the boat !! Total luxury to the maximum extent possible.. people did dressed nice at dinner at very educated people we meet doctors , lawyers, pharmacists business people very classy and educated people we enjoy the people the crew the food everything thank God for such aincredible opportunity to experience such luxury and pleasure cruise I will Do it again !!!
Great tour of the ship. We are going on this ship Feb. 29. Was not happy about a charge to go to that one adult area. Cruising is starting to loose it's charm with me with all the up charges these days with the new ships. May end up going back to an all inclusive beach vacation in the future.
I think cruises are going to head into more all inclusive fares and starting to see that starting with Wi-fi, gratuities and speciality dining. More lines doing promotions where those often with drinks included and new lines like Virgin launching with more included
I mostly enjoyed my time onboard but I certainly walked away preferring Celebrity. There were features I liked such as the Medallion to get into the room, the gym, and a ton of complimentary food service. However, Beyond had better food, entertainment, layout, and staff were generally happier.
Nice new ship. Food wasn’t great. Prefer the older ships set up for the buffets. Never knew for sure where any thing was. The roast beef was so tough every time. On a brighter note, the crew was great. Great bloody marys.
Not many at all. Only the emergency drill / emergency in cabins. But the bridge cam channel if you have that on has all announcements if they do any like port arrival etc
Hi Gary, greetings from Cape Town! Thanks for your great informative reviews! We are going on a Baltic cruise with Sky Princess in July 21, we have booked a balcony cabin, category BF, please can you help me decide what deck we should choose, and which to avoid??
I would look for any cabin that is surrounded above, below, both sides and opposite by other cabins - and check the cabin does not have an interconnecting door. Then it should be great. The closer to the centre of the ship too if you can as less walking around to get to places
@@tipsfortravellers That's great. We were booked on that cruise, but decided to cancel. We did a trip to South Africa this year and are going to Antarctica on the G Expedition in December so our travel budget was blown up. Therefore we cancelled the Sky Princess. I would like to do an inaugural cruise someday.
Also with you on the glass shower surround not a fan of the curtain. Are the size of the showers more roomy, and which ships do have the glass shower enclosures?
Great info Gary, by the way, do you need to reserve a seat in advance for the shows at the theater or just show up at the entrance, fall in line and choose a seat?
Good review, however I would like more information on access to all areas for disabled passengers, not a dedicated review, just a mention/reassure that most floors have easy access, etc,
Officially cruising will start up by then. Personally, I don’t think this will be the case as the projections still for things to be building as virus works way through population, and on practical level most airlines have announced grounding of fleets largely into May. I am keeping bookings I have in May to see what happens, but I’m pretty sure this is optimistic. I think we’ll see cruise making the calls on rest of April decision only in first week of April. If you are flexible witty holding as lines etc all so swamped trying to deal with up coming cancellations
Thanks, another nice video and tour. Looks like another ship sans promenade deck. Seems to be a case of being in the sun, listening to loud unwanted music/movies or being indoors in bars, casinos etc and very little quiet space in the shade, or a walk early morning/night, close to the sea (which is 1/2 the reason for going on a cruise) . There are two reasons they have done away with prom decks a) to get more balcony cabins onboard and b) keep the punters close to spending opportunities and wandering waiting staff. Will have to cross this one of my list.
@@tipsfortravellers Thank you very much for your videos and taking the time to answer my questions really disappointed that there's no bar in there on Caribbean Princess really enjoyed Churchill's the whole point of a cigar bar is where you can sit down have a cigar and have a drink and have conversation with other cigar enthusiast
Just spent two weeks in the Caribbean on Sky. I would not book on her again. NO happy hour! No arts and crafts! NO Library! NO board games! No shuffleboard on outer decks! Tiered seating for movies under the stars removed in favour or "largest suites at sea", by the way I never saw one guest up there! Elite club 5 has been diminished and is now in Vista lounge. No more appetizers offered in the wine bar. I'll go back to Regal or Royal in future.
Did this ship have music on the pool deck all day? Been on another Princess ship and they only had music during a certain time each day and not for long. We are hoping for at least some back ground music to keep the atmosphere enjoyable.

How was your cruise? I’m thinking of booking on the Sky Princess
Gary, it's always worth mentioning that Princess ships have self-service laundries, a boon for families and long sailings.
Always appreciate these videos as someone who is new to cruising. So much information packed into each one, thank you again!
Great to hear!!! Thanks for watching and great they useful
Watched this again, tonight as I don’t think Holly had seen it before, and we are going at the end of January.
Very good and informative, and right to the point.
Thanks 👍🏻 Hope you enjoy the ship. Interested to find out
Gary, Your reviews are fantastic! You really give me the feel of the ship, and the quality of the vacation. Thanks. 👏
I’m sailing on her in a year to the Caribbean. I’m VERY excited. Thanks so much for this tour, very helpful.
As always Gary, well done...We are cruising in Sky in February.
Excellent review as usual; the best on UA-cam in my opinion. Going on this ship in December!!! Very helpful review!!!
Thanks! Great to hear! Appreciate you watching 😀
@@tipsfortravellers is the Sky Cabin worth the extra money?

Loved the tour of this Cruise Ship. Really looking forward to our cruise in July. Thank you.
I so want to cruise her. Who would have thought that cruising would be suspended when you made this video! Great tour!
Great, comprehensive review! I can’t wait to check this one out myself soon!
We have been on two Princess Cruises and they are the best. Can’t wait to try this ship! Nice review.
Great tour, thank you! Can't wait to try her out as well as the Enchanted!
Thank you for a very clear and informative tour. The ship does appear to be a very attractive option for cruising.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching
Another great ship tour! Thanks for posting.
Good review, always the best content, keep up the good work!
Thanks 👍🏻 Good to hear you enjoyed!
We prefer the older Princess ships with full wrap around promenades down low where wildlife is visible. Nowhere to sit close to sea level in shade on a lounge chair on these new ships.
I am sure the promenade deck has chairs as they always do. Don’t they Gary?
Very good Garry, thank you, looks a lovely ship, we like Princess. Just did the Regal on a Baltic 11 days from CPH in August, was absolutely fabulous. Going on a 16 day of Norway in 2021 on the Island Princess.
Thanks for watching! Princess is great., Fab cruises you have lined up !

Sailing on her 22 sept 21. And again 18 Dec 21. Can't wait.
Great summary, thanks for sharing!
Hi thanks for sharing this video. One thing I didn't see or may have missed is a club. A night club with a dance floor. Did they have one of those?
Thanks for posting your review of this new ship!
Thanks for watching :-)
My first cruise in 80’s was the original Sky Princess.
We're sailing in December. Thank you for sharing your valuable information. 😊
Glad it was helpful!

Main thing for me is it's geared for families and in the evening, all the bars had loud music coming out of the speakers.
Now you made me want to go on a cruise
:-)
Thanks Gary. Love your videos. Great job as always
Wonderful, thank you, this will be my next cruise ship!
HAPPYTOWN LEADSTOMYHOME You are so lucky to be able to afford to purchase this ship. I wish I had your money.

We are sailing in a few days to the British isles. How was the ports and shore excursions? Would you recommend taking independent tours?
Do you ever video a fully accessible cabin for wheel chair users. I would love to see that if you get the chance.
Thank you. Does the minisuites have shower curtains also? Agree with you 👍
Great question

Was the gym the same size as the one on the Royal Princess?
Torn between Sky Princess or Iona for a summer 2023 cruise to the Fjords. Any suggestions?
Plse give some details about the balcony with premium plus.
I love princess ships, except for MUTS during the day. I bring earplugs for when I am on the Lido deck during the day.
Muts? 🤔
I'm not sure if you remember, but how common were announcements on the ship? And were they in your rooms, or is that only for emergencies?
Not many at all. Only the emergency drill / emergency in cabins. But the bridge cam channel if you have that on has all announcements if they do any like port arrival etc

Were there any hiccups considering it was an inaugural cruise? I've heard that inaugural cruises can be fraught with problems.
It did not have any, that I noticed. It was the smoothest shakedown I have been on

Never been on a cruise so what would suggest is the best to try for first timer’s what are the pro and cos thanks
Wonderful overview.
Thanks for watching. Great to hear you enjoyed it
Is this the ship to vlog about? Aparentley everybody but me was onboard
There were a lot of journalists, bloggers and vloggers on the shakedown cruise !!
Awesome sir! Hope you had a great time
No wave bording?
How common were the announcements? Could you hear them in your rooms?
I didn’t see Crooners piano bar. Is it not part of this ship?
No it is not there
I will be on it🤗
Thanks for this video. Will be on this ship in December. Are there any dance clubs in the evening?
Thanks for watching. Yes there is late night venue

Which room are you in at the start of the video
I’m in the balcony cabin I was staying in on the ship. I can’t remember the number but it was in the pool deck level at the front

Do they still have Churchill's cigar bar on board and if so did you get a chance to see how nice it was
Yes though it is a very small room for smoking with no bar in at all

Jay Thompson there is usually music at lunchtime, and sail away of course. Otherwise mostly movies or information on the big screen.
Hi
You showed up on my recommended. Very nice review!!! But maybe think about adding soft music throughout the video??
You 12:05
I was on this ship in its third week of service. I did not like the ship at all. I would not recommend travelling on her until she jells a bit.
Worse ship I've ever been on, food was awful.
Sky Princess Food Sucks...
