I totally agree Steve deserves an Emmy. He did such a great job with Solo. The moment when they come into the Legacy and you see he's stressed about people touching stuff but SO wants to share the world with them. You FEEL it from him.

I have to say, it's really nice to know the author of these sci-fi novels I love seems like just a totally normal, cool dude. You're not way over the top in some aspect. Seem to have your head on straight and are a regular guy who writes great books. Nothing more to it

Hi Hugh, congratulations on the awesome season. I think your point of not wanting to fool viewers who figure it out is a great point. We faced that problem with Game of Thrones, Star Wars, and Lost, where because people figured out what would happen based on good clues and interest, the show/movierunners wanted to subvert expectations and created something lesser than it was hinting to. "Oh you thought x was y? Well, really, its z! You never expected Z because its dumb!"
Stick to your guns, the books are incredible and the show is living up to the books.

I Loved S01 and 02... So good ... this type of SciFi is exactly what I like with some not so predictable directions.

The show is absolutely incredible and look forward to season 3 which will probably come out in 2026 I’m guessing. I myself have been inspired by your work I will have to listen or read your books sorry but I will do that at some point. I have taken your premise of the Silo and made it into a tiered city floating mere feet off the ground. This story I’m working on is called Mindblock dealing with a dystopian society where the main power who controls the city is a faceless organization called Paradigm Corp. who are controling peoples memories. It morphs into something that could blow people away. I was inspired by a youtube video that was discussing the lore of Silo and how they can’t remember the time before living in the Silos. It got me thinking and creating a world that uses your world you have created and then jumped off from there.

And THAT finale! I expected that scene to be the last, but men, it was amazing!

It’s funny I haven read the books but after the first season I totally planned to. But after the first half half of the 2nd season I was having second thoughts. The show meandered and kinda stalled a bit to me which had me thinking the book must be a little boring. I shared this thought w/a friend and she acknowledged the show was badly paced and suggested it would work better as a binge but reassured me that ur book is fast paced and doesn’t meander at all! So I’m buying the book series next wk!!
The concepts are super strong and the intrigue is off the charts I’m so fascinated with this world u built and look forward to the next few seasons as well as reading the book series!
PS ..we don’t need Juliet underwater for the entire first season- even w/out reading the book I know she ain’t dying! Just saying..
The finale though (actually the last 3 episodes) almost makes up for the slow start it was epic! I’m totally invested!!

I enjoy the show very much. Though, I'm not one for getting into the weeds too much when it comes to fiction, I realize the writers of the series don't do anything without a reason. Vintage music appears to be an important part of the show. As a jazz musician, I am curious as to the specific reason behind the pick of the slow version of Miles Davis's tune "Walkin'" as the continuous background music for the ending bar scene of Ep. 10? I know Georgia plays a lot in your modus operandi. Perhaps because of the Miles bio pic's premiere in Savannah in 2023?

I've read your reddit post that also mentions "this season is best watched as a whole" would you say the same about the upcoming seasons? I like the slow burn, but also felt the same way as you and understand those who think the whole middle of the season can be skipped. Should we wait for the whole of season 3 to come out to have the privilege of watching at our own pace (as you did early on for this season) for the best viewing experience? Are there considerations behind the scenes to release any future episodes as an entire season or at least in batches? IMO Andor did well to drop 3 episodes up front.

Loved the books AND the show. But then, I don’t even understand your concept of “unnecessary lesbians” 🤔, and I thought the execution of this season was brilliant.

@@KathySierraVideo"unnecessary lesbians" is when Apple changes the gender of a character and makes them gay/lesbian for the sole purpose of having a gay/lesbian character to check off an intersectional virtue signal box without adding to the story. They do this with the wheelchair-bound guy in mechanical, too. It's not reasonable to think that a person in his condition could do a very physical job In the confines of mechanical, but having him there makes Apple look diverse, equitable, and inclusive to those whose thinking goes no deeper than that. They do it in all their shows. I'm just saying the books were fine and didn't need to be changed in ANY of the ways they changed them - not that there's something wrong with being gay, lesbian, or whatever we call disabled people at this moment.
My bigger complaint though is changing the story and characters for no reason. No reason at all other than to change them.

@@crairdin I might be a tiny bit in agreement on the point of “changing the authors original art” etc. But here we are, on the author’s own channel, with literally *the creator of the characters / story* telling us how much he loves what’s been done. I do share the opinion that a show/film producer should not take liberties with the author’s work in ways that break from the author’s intention. But that’s clearly not what happened in this case. In fact, this might be the first time I’ve ever heard an author actually say he’d kinda wished or considered retroactively altering his own work *because* he loved what was changed by the screen version.
