Very nice and informative vdo, I have a gardenia plant of age one and half year, in 8 inch pot, I planted January 2021, but now I have seen that the pot is full of roots, root bound, can I do root pruning and hard pruning in February month, my plant height about 2.5 feet, please reply

Last year me ye plant nursery me se lai tab Kalia thi par vo sub gir gai thi islia dar lagta he k flowers niklenge k nahi.

@@aakash950 this is a sensitive plant and needs proper well drained acidic soil, right amount of water, not too much harsh sun or cold (3-4 hours of morning sun) protection against fungus and mineral deficiency. Once you have the right conditions above, then it is easy to maintain. But if you don't get morning sun, then it may be difficult to maintain. It will burn out and slowly die in afternoon sun.

ab is gandharaj ke paudhe mein next season mein, March- April mein phool aaenge, tab tak ise mature hone den. Plant mature hone per flowering karta hai. Dhoop mein rakhen aur limited Pani den, jyada bhi nahin, aur kam bhi nahin. Spring season mein, February ke month mein, acchi khaad den. vermi compost... ya cowdung manure... ya kuchh daane DAP ke

The buds will not bloom in October, November. New buds will reappear on plant in spring time.... in March. Just after winters in February fertilize plant ....Flowers bloom in March April.

Gardenia enjoys bright humid conditions away from hot or cold environment or harsh direct sunlight. Good manure, two times in a year in spring & after rainy season.
I give cowdung manure & vermicompost

I have brought the gardenia plant after seeing your video :) specially for fragrance. But the plant do not give buds and even the existing buds has automatically fall down without blooming. I brought it just before a month ago in rainy season (August) and it is not generating NEW buds now. see few things below,
Plant pot size: 10 inch
Used 100% cocopeat instead of soil and did not mixed anything (as per advised by shopper)
Plant height is 3 feet.
Plant placed at first floor balcony where sunlight comes only for 1 hour in this season.
Please advise whether need to add any soil/compost/fertilizer, etc for new buds and BLOOMING also.
Your advise will be appreciated.
At present the plant will show slow growth. With the end of winters and beginning of Summer, that is ,first week of February the plant will show good growth and that is the time when you have to fertilize . The plant blooms when it matures (in March, April) . Maintain posture in soil.
A mature healthy gardenia plant blooms in the months of March and April. During budding stage( in the beginning of summer) it needs fertilizer. Soil should be kept moist and the plant should be protected from harsh weather conditions like hot dry Sunny spots or cold windy areas,keep in partial shade. During winters it should be kept indoors or under shade.

@@mehulnakrani123 But as you said, you got buds in August too. So they should be flowering in the rainy season too. From my experience the buds are dropping because you are watering too much or too little, or the soil is not well drained, or is not acidic

Keep the soil evenly moist and increase humidity levels.
Gardenia flowers require lots of light; however, you should avoid direct sunlight. East facing place which receives morning sunlight is the best place. Add good organic fertilizer during growing period ( in the month of February March). I use cow dung manure / leaf compost/ few grains of DAP alternatively and in gaps during growing period.
