You didn't fail to climb Kili. You got to climb & spend time on a beautiful mountain and made it back safely. Summiting isn't the be all and end all. You made a wise decision. Best wishes to you.
Great VLOG. I am taking a shot at Kili in October. I am taking the 8 day Lemosho route and I'm taking Diamox. Glad you posted this for a realistic perspective.
I think you know that when you decided to go directly to Barafu and not camp at Karangga it sacrificed your acclimatised day. Congratulations on Barafu…. It is cold and tough.
Good call to back off! At the same altitude my O2 was at around 85%, and I could really feel the altitude. 53% sounds terrifying! I hope you felt better fast when going down. That descent sounds brutal (carrying all that stuff)
Ayush u were perfectly right in ur decision You can always try again but i feel acclimitasation time is definitely not enough Usually its 2 to 3 days in interim camps ,i think ur guide just rushed through When we went to kailas we did this but a group of very fit youngsters were in trouble in yama dwar with no acclimatisation and needed evacuation while older pilgrims did parikrama of going through dolma pass around 5470 meters ASL
I feel for you but getting to Barafu is an achievement in itself. I struggled at Lava tower even though we took Lemosho but dragged myself up, literally step by step, to Uhuru, although I felt like giving up on the way. Full respect to Mma Kilimankiaro 😊 Kazanzuri mate!
How many days did you spend getting to your highest point? I went the Lemoshu route and we spent 6 days getting to the peak and we used Diamox from day 2 onwards. That included bypassing Shira 1 where many camp and going straight to Shira 2 and I found that very hard. By the time I got to Stella Point, the rim, I was like a zombie and if I had not had a guide dragging me then I would not have got to Uhura Peak. I think my eyes were closed a lot of the way :-) A week before, someone died just a few hundred yards from Uhuru Peak. A few weeks later a team had to abandon the final ascent due to blizzards and one of their guides died of hyperthermia back at Barafu so you were right to be cautious. To be honest, the peak is not that impressive so you did not miss much other than bragging rights.
Great vlog many thanks for sharing your experience. Well done on your trek though you didn't make the summit this time you should be proud of getting so far!
hi Ayush .i summited kili just last thursday .was lucky no rain at all .summit and coming down the hardest things iv ever done .u should go back and finnish it ,best of luck
Just finished 6 day machame route. Glad to have reached the summit. Your video shows the other side of many who don't make it despite the urge to push. Thank you
I ve just climbed to the peak doing lemosho route. Boy was it challenging mentally and exhausting especially summit night. My bf didn’t make it to peak due to severe altitude sickness.
Super vlog. Thanks for sharing your story. I leave for Kilimanjaro next week. Hope to make it all the way! May I ask a somewhat personal question…perhaps you spoke of this in the vlog and I missed it…did you take Diamox to ward off altitude sickness? Thank you, again.
Thank you Marc! All the best for your trek! I didn’t take Diamox but you definitely should and start taking it a few days in advance. That will definitely help 😄
Thank you for sharing. What route did you take and what group did you use if you don't mind me asking? I will be attempting the Western Breach Route in June.
We took the Machame Route. We went with ‘Almighty Kilimanjaro’. I would suggest you ensure that your crew has sufficient medical supplies including thermometer, oxygen reader and an oxygen cylinder. Good luck!
Your asking bizarre questions from the porter is strange and funny, you look abs sound Indian to me and I’m sure where you originally come from in the third world you have seen people carry things on their head and necks and backs.. why are you acting so unnecessary questions? Anyway better luck next time! Great content
I just got down from a successful summit. This video shows the agony I felt on summit push. I can't explain the feeling, but it is clear on this. The porters are rock stars. Only those who've been up the mountain will understand this despite all kinds of daily life physical hard work. There's no comparison. Thank you for sharing

Very very interesting vlog! What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger..
Literally it was a nice vlog!
Waiting for ur next vlog...
Good try… but hard luck…. Prepare well and go for it
Hi Ayush, I am also planning to climb Kilimanjaro around the same time as you did. Which travel agent did you book your tour through?
Hey Ankit. I would not recommend my tour due to various reasons. I look up tours on Tourradar 😄
@@AyushAgarwalVlogsawww, I also booked through Tourradar and going on 29th December Marangu Route...let us see🙈

Thanks for the vlog.
Pls tell did you take some medicine to ease on altitude sickness? Like diamox?
I didn’t take any medicine but I should have. I would advise you to start taking Diamox a few days prior to your Trek. All the best!
@@AyushAgarwalVlogs thanks
Great decision to descend
respect that you decided not to put ypurself to the risk.
did you take Diamox? how were your vitals?
I unfortunately didn’t take Diamox which I should have. My oxygen levels had dropped to 53% before we decided to descend.
Very adventurous
Good video!
Hahahahahaha!! Really nice opening sequence
❤️
