He passed away in 1983 so this was one of his last adverts.
Blimey, I wish you could still get a load of decent cosmetics with only 1 purchase of an Estee Lauder product and £8. Nowadays you have to buy 2 items and one has to be either skincare or foundation before you get any freebies!

I'd always remembered that guy in that Cornetto ad as being fat and with a beard.
There were quite a few, you could be getting them mixed up with one another
