Thanks for this, I'm considering getting something similar. I have 2 Questions: What are the dimensions of this unit? How are they at present (now almost 5 years after this video)? Any issues, even small ones?
Thank you very much for the best video made on this system. May I suggest to use a rubber mallet next time. They are only 99p in the 99P shop or try pound land for £1.00. best wishes.
In a room with a tall unit and you have kids? Make sure you fasten the unit securely to the wall with a metal bracket !! Make sure you make it clear to the kids that they must NOT climb on this!! Ideally in kids areas keep the height low by building the unit across NOT upright. To keep shelves covered etc TIP use net curtain wires and fasten to the unit then thread fabric or curtain etc onto net wires !! I would NOT use this unit in high humidity areas such as bathroom, kitchen etc. The chipboard should stay dry AND yes you can varnish or wood stain chipboard. Using a sealant for chipboard will also help re damp etc. Load heavy items to the sides NOT the middle of the shelving!" This has a decent metal painted frame so leaves a lot of options to those who are DIY capable. 👀👍
Thanks. The most important thing for kids is to be safe. We placed our unit in the shed where our son can't reach it, but we secured it with a metal bracket too..
Truth this shelf right now is being recalled because some were sent out without the no tip wall anchors. Kids are killed all over because these tip when kids try to climb them.
Assembly was not so easy for us because we are not so handy :) But handyman can do it like piece of cake. After halfyear of use we can rate it as good. Yes, it is able to hold heavy items.
What magic did you apply to get the bars to actually sit in the sockets at 2:17? These wings don't look like they come out nearly enough to actually fit in the groove of the right angle bars. I've got two of these things to build this weekend and initial efforts are failing.
UPDATE: I found the only way to make this work was to pry wider these poorly moulded wings with a wide flathead screwdriver. Once widened they'd "bite" and then you can smack them into place with a spare chunk of wood. Or rubber mallet if you're posh.
Oh and use a decent piece of solid hardwood to help hammer the unit into place DO NOT use softwoods or a hammer alone on the metalwork as it may chip the metal work. 👀😎
Note for anyone: these are great shelves but the rated 250kg is not accurate, these will start to bow in the middle over time if to heavy. What I did was take some 2 by 4 wood and braced under each wood shelf panel. Basically make it look like a ladder (from the wood) is on the underside and makes them.really.strpmg
@@breandanohannaidh168 first of all, I wasn't complaining, I was showing to people what you can do should you expect the same issues. Secondly my packaging clearly states 250kg evenly distributed.
@@evieemaya88 OK, you weren't complaining (but you did say that the 250 kg is not accurate). Still, this video shows "175 kg" clearly at 0m10s, and again at 7m33s, and my set has "175 kg" printed on the chipboard, which I measure at 11 mm thick (2 years old) - maybe your pack is different. My pack came with extra metal braces (not in the video AFAIK) to wedge underneath the halfway line of each shelf, for extra strength, just like your wooden braces. Consumer reaction may have made them necessary.
Well I guess it helps having 2 people. I've been over an hour just trying to keep the bottom 4 cross bars together. As i think I'm winning one of the bars come undone . I'm so frustrated. Plus the little raised bits I've had to prise then open a tad. Then take pliers to clamp it shut. Where am I going wrong. Aaggrr!!!!! Look simple till you get it.
Well I watched another video an ii realised my mistake... I was trying to do it on my carpet too spongy. But I took it out side to the patio and now it's finished and in my cupboard where it was meant to be.... happy days. Lol
Thank you,I just bought one today and I wanted to see how to assemble it.

wow you made assembly look so easy! i wonder how you guys rate this product? is it able to hold heavy items?

@@CloutMediauk Thanks. That info is critical for the assembly, you need to stress that in the video.
Thank you because I cdn't figure this out w/o ur vid.
Welcome!
Yeah, their instructions tell me to make the frame and once built you gotta taie it apart again to fit in the horizontal sheets total bullshit

Yup mine broke total garbage stands, I'm litteraly able to bend that metal with 1 finger
So looks easy, i thought i would need screws lol

Video (at 10 s) only claims each shelf can take 175 kg, evenly distributed. If yours survived 250 kg, you can hardly complain!

Can someone tell me the quality of this items?
We can, quality of this shelving unit is ok, after 4 years it looks good, and now is fully stacked with heavy load...
Thank you so much
