- Jeremy Kyle speaks with Shadow Chief Secretary to the treasury, Labour's Darren Jones, after Rishi Sunak vowed to slash taxes in the Conservatives' election manifesto, including plans to cut National Insurance (NI).
The biggest promise is to reduce the NI paid by employees, part of a tax-cutting package worth an estimated £17bn a year by 2030.
Sunak also plans to lower the main rate of NI for the self-employed and abolish it entirely by April 2029.
The manifesto suggests these cuts can be funded by reducing welfare payments and cracking down on tax avoidance.

@@andybellklas1678That accounts for £500-600m during COVID, what about the £300m since Truss crashed the economy and the £800m between 2010 and 2018? So even without COVID the Tories have at least doubled the national debt.
Starmer a few days ago said ' we must not forget the contribution to the labour party from j corbyn ,we must build on it .
