Hasim Rahman is a very powerful puncher, definitely deserves to be recognized as a great heavyweight fighter.

In his prime Hasim was a good fighter ! You've got to give the man respect for knocking an unstoppable Lennox Lewis out like he did ! Yes I know he lost the rematch but he deserves his respect , I'd you agree with me like my comment

💯 %. Hasim Rahman was heavyweight champion twice, and got cheated/robbed against Tua in their two fights, as well as in his two fights with James Toney, and the one with Holyfield. I also thought Rahman beat John Ruiz and was cheated in that fight as well. Rahman also beat a lot of tough prospects on his way up, such as Obed Sullivan, Ross Purrity, and Jeff Wooden. Rahman's slugfest with Corrie Sanders was legendary, as was his win over Lennox Lewis. Rahman had one of the very best left jabs of all-time and is in the top ten hardest punchers in my 📙. ✌️

A flash in the pan. Would still beat most HW's today though.

Power in both hands. Him versus Ruiz was the best fight of 2 hard working heavyweiths back in the day

He has some good wins besides Lewis.
What about Corrie Sanders, one of the few men to knock out Wlad Klitschko?
What about Ross Purity, the other man to knock out Wlad Klitschko?
And Berbick? Kali Meehan? If he had just those wins, I'd agree with you, but all of those wins, with the Lennox Lewis, makes Rahman a hall of famer in my opinion

    Future hall of famer

not sure about that. is Oliver McCall also a future hall of famer "just" cause he knocked out lennox lewis?

Yes and because of other people he beat.

He didn't knock tua out, Ths knocked him out, in the second fight Rahman dropped him after the bell, and Tua got up

Great comparison. Neither of them were tall but they were both as wide as house and had extremely long arms so they could box with taller men. Rahman was just strong as hell.

Rahman is decent guy.Vary Smart. He is vary underated as a puncher.I think he has a huge punching power.
If Rahman trained a little different style.Kinda a like Ken Norton.Because he has those long arms.He would have accomplished much much more

You've got to admit nearly every lineal heavyweight champion has been in the HOF even if they lost it on their first defense. Willard is in both, Sharkey is in both, Johansson is in both, Carnera is in the WBHOF...It would make less sense for Rahman NOT to be in the HOF, honestly.

what a champion he beat Lennox Lewis and corrie sanders solid

  • @ibhof2
    @ibhof2  11 років тому

why would he be a hall of famer just cause he "fought some top level guys"? Maskaev beat him twice, Holyfield beat him. Basically Rahman lost most of his big fights.
