I was really pissed that after her crying her eyes out over him last episode and her beautiful goodbye she gave him at his funeral, that her first words to Jon were "I didn't love him, not like I love you!" The stupid writers are just so focused on making sure they shove this Jon/Dany relationship down our throats. I rewatched that clip. She didn't say "I didn't love him" she said "I couldn't love him back. Not the way I love you." Initially, I was pissed off because I thought the writers were doing a complete disservice to the amazing on-screen partnership Emilia and Iain had and shoving Jonerys down our throats. After analyzing it a bit though, I don't think she meant it in a way that devalues her bond with Jorah. I don't believe the feast is long after the funeral pyre. She's still greiving but not only that, she sees the way people look at Jon the same way people used to look at her in Yunkai/Mereen. She's also bearing the weight of losing her right to the Iron Throne to the point where she legit begged Jon not to tell anyone about his true identity. It's very VERY likely that because of where her emotional state is right now, she is underlining the fact that she is upset that she couldn't physically reciprocate Jorah's love like she did with Jon until it was too late. Like Emilia said, due to Dany's status as a conqueror, she had her "eyes closed" to what she had in front of her until it was too late. Also she's human! One of the many coping mechanisms for grief is a good fuck LOL. :P In the world of Thrones, we've seen what happens when people who truly love each other, people who were meant to be each other's endgame, get together. Robb Stark? Married for true love = Red Wedding. Had he married one of Freys daughter, everything would've been dandy. Tyrion and Shae? Betrayal and more tragedy, ended up killing her. Jon and Ygritte? Again, tragedy. So in a sense, when Dany says she couldn't love him like she loved Jon, she's right. In a world where lineage,power and influence is favored over genuine love, Dany and Jon make sense politically (even though the writing thus far is garbage). Jorah and Dany are true, their love was true, even Emilia said in an interview in 7x05 that Jorah was "the one" - this is why she couldn't love him the way he did for her. The tragedy is that there is almost no room for genuine love in this universe. In another world? Totally. Sorry this got a little long :)

Months later and I'm still not over this. This was so beautiful, heartbreaking and poignant. The song choice, the voiceovers, the parallels and the scenes where she held him as he died in her arms and the final goodbye scene at the funeral...it hit me right in the feels. I am still not over Jorah's death or hers (at least he died honorably but my gosh they trashed Dany's character). I'm simply going to believe she died of a broken heart and I don't mean from Jon stabbing her literally but from her losses. She lost her children, Jorah and her best friend, Missandei and LONG before that she lost Drogo, the child she was carrying and Ser Barristan. I fully believed when she lost Viserion she was emotionally numb and couldn't process his death (it's the only way I would buy that she didn't grieve because WTF that was her child. 7x06 and 7x07 pissed me off immensely) but when she lost Jorah, it hit her hard emotionally. She was devastated and then when Rhaegal and Missandei died that was the final nail that drove her over the edge and she snapped. Still I wish they carefully planned out the "Mad Queen" arc and build it up organically and realistically instead of rushing it in the last 3 episodes. The execution was poor and it was handled terribly. The writing was lazy and because it was rushed and contrived. The ONLY saving grace from that "Mad Queen" story arc was Emilia's riveting performance. She gave such a heartbreaking and compelling performance expressing her character's grief, loss, vulnerability, anger and rage. Her portrayal was BRILLIANT!!! If she doesn't get any Emmy for her performances, it will be a travesty. I also wish Alfie Allen finally gets the LONG and OVERDUE recognition he deserves.
All she’s got left is grey worm. Only grey worm is unconditionally loyal to Dany now after they killed her other best friend Missandei. I think it’s to foreshadow her craziness & death in the final episodes.
You point is well taken, and it's even further driven home when considering Jorah told Dany years ago that "No one can survive in this world without help, no one. Let me help, please. Tell me how." The decline in the quality of advice Dany has received from Tyrion and Varys, two of the smartest men in Westeros, compared to the superior advice she got from Jorah (a knight), Barristan (Commander of the Kings Guard), and Daario (a sellsword) is truly a sad state of affairs.
Dany deserved to be the queen of the Seven Kingdoms with Jorah as Lord Commander of her Queen’s Guard to serve as her constant protector until he was no longer able to.

I love Jorah. I always kept hoping he would take both of his pardons and sail back to Westeros. She was never worthy of him from the start. I resented her slobbering over his corpse because she never valued him when he was alive. I was glad he died before he saw her slaughter thousands of innocents. I would have loved to watch the alternate HBO ending. Jorah finally realizes he misjudged her and supports Jon Snow for the throne instead. He ends up exiled to the NIght's Watch after Jon kills her. The better ending would have been to restore his title, Lord Mormont of Bear Island. He had atoned for all of his misdeeds a thousand times over. The video is nicely done, even though I absolutely do not share the sentiment.
