What pisses me off is that this game wasn't as popular as the other installments. So it's most likely we're never going to get a God of war multiplayer ever again. Not like this. The closest game I could ever find was For Honor multiplayer. I wish Santa Monica remade God Of War 2005 and included the multiplayer, with better mechanics, and better graphics.
Story wise, Kratos has also been redeemed from his past and Yada Yada Yada, and I love Krato's new portrayal, but I think it's a bit weird that after GOW 4 and 5, they'll go back to angry vengeful Kratos. I don't know what to think or how to feel. I guess I'll just enjoy the classics for what they are, and every once in a while, I watch some GoW multiplayer on UA-cam, reliving the nostalgia.

Its was the combos especially the hammer combos specifically Hades war hammer and hands down this game kept true multiplayer team players together every day I waa a day one player I stayed on the weekly ranks I honestly missed this game and yes its still number one
I remember grinding this multiplayer and making friends online it was addicting! What was really cool was that the game legit had fighting mechanics youd expect in traditional fighting games like combos, weapon tech, cancels, air juggles, resets, etc. It could get really competitive but became really toxic. I remember fighting against "top 50" players and seeing them post their fights on youtube lol it was fun. It was also badass when you play 4v4 and everyone would just moshpit. They need to revive this

According to the development of online it was suppose to be a DLC character you could align with. I have seen its model, it was a male character with Shield and some sort of staff. The wiki says it was likely Helios but I don't understand how it could benefit the play. We already have Ares that is fire based and Zeus lighting based. So if it was Helios then I'm not sure what power he would have given us. The character personally to me looked more like Perseus model but his powers would be even more of a mystery.

I fucking loved this multiplayer but I came out with arguably the worst game in the franchise and thus was doomed to fail. I wish they’re give this another go, it was extremely fun and the concept was so bad ass, choosing with god to become a champion for 👌🏽 Hades all day

The original trilogy and the prequel games are way better than modern GOW. Nowadays, developers want us to replay the same game with forced walking segments and bloated cutscenes

Ascension needs a remake, but it should just be the multiplayer that's heavily expanded on, with the much needed inclusion of being able to change armor appearance without affecting stats. If it has to have a story mode, make it so that it's the multiplayer character (let's call him the Warrior) starting off as a lowly soldier when Kratos' rampage in GOW 3 ruined the world. After Kratos leaves for Midgard, Athena's ghost finds the Warrior as one of the few fortunate survivors and tasks him to claim the powers of the dead gods to fix the world, only for Athena to try and steal those powers for herself and kill the Warrior for being a threat to her plans for a new Olympus under her control.

Ascension needs a remake, but it should just be the multiplayer that's heavily expanded on, with the much needed inclusion of being able to change armor appearance without affecting stats.
If it has to have a story mode, make it so that it's the multiplayer character (let's call him the Warrior) starting off as a lowly soldier when Kratos' rampage in GOW 3 ruined the world. After Kratos leaves for Midgard, Athena's ghost finds the Warrior as one of the few fortunate survivors and tasks him to claim the powers of the dead gods to fix the world, only for Athena to try and steal those powers for herself and kill the Warrior for being a threat to her plans for a new Olympus under her control.
