✨ ABOUT ME ✨
Hi, I'm Katie and I may plan a bit differently from others. I am neurodivergent and planning around chronic illnesses, so I write in pencil and leave things very flexible. I also misspeak and misspell a lot due to auditory processing and dyslexia. I use tarot and oracle cards to help me navigate my upcoming week along with a separate vertical life planner, work planner, and daily journal. I also love to do tiny tidies around the home in unique ways that work for my brain and energy.

Mult. chronic health issues here: I stopped planning ahead - my body never let me do what I wanted/needed, and it was depressing me into inertia. I started writing things down that I do each day. Motivating, encouraging, and helps me build momentum. Getting to write something down is a game I can win against my body and disabilities.
That's super hard, and very relatable. I too get really tired of making plans and then could never get to some or most of them. It hurts your heart. Coming up with what works for you, especially a daily list and looking at things much shorter term is brilliant and feels so much better. I love that. Thanks so much for sharing 💕
I am very much relating to your story (cancer treatments removed all energy & motivation from my life -> as well as the tumor❤). I found “To Do” lists to be impossible. And disheartening as well. I learned to reframe some statements which was helpful. Example, “I don’t want to ______, but if I did, then ____.” So, don’t want to pull weeds in the summer heat, but fresh air and singing birds will make me feel better. Don’t have the energy to do my laundry, but if I did, I will have fresh-smelling sheets tonight. Sigh - I’m still a serious procrastinator tho. Oh well🤷🏻♀.
@ Those are such beautiful reframes! Can very much relate to procrastination. You have been through some challenging times. Sending 💕
Katie, this is brilliant and I love your honesty and your guts, Go on, be brave, be awesome and stay vulnerable, no matter how hard some people might try to take it away from you. It is a superpower! Highly appreciated ❤
Thank you so so much! Your words are exactly what I needed to hear right now and I thank you so much for them 💕💕💕
@ :)
10 minutes ago i was thinking dang i wish i could find someone making videos about planning for energy and chronic illness and this was the next vid i clicked in a related vid. so glad to have found you!!
Wow! So glad you found it. What beautiful serendipity ✨ Welcome to our little community here! Let me know if there are any aspects to planning that would be helpful to you that I could show or talk about. 💕
This is wonderfully reassuring to listen to. After spending decades trying to keep up, then crashing and since then recovering/accepting and adapting to my limits I no longer use my planner for planning. I use it so I can better visualize time. I mostly use lists - monthly lists/weekly lists/lists for events. My ADHD responds better to making choices from a list for the day. And, if I get hyper focused on something productive I just keep going because I know how fleeting that can be. If reorganizing a drawer turns into a room it’s all good. There ARE so many ways to live a life. My brain also responds well to gamifying projects and also to using rewards.
@@stamdl so glad you found it reassuring and that you have found many ways to support yourself through planning. I relate to many of them :) Thanks so much for sharing 💕
Home de-cluttering is tough especially when your spouse doesn’t see progress because it’s not perfect - the most discouraging to me.
@@annettefertitta6868 that’s hard. Know that your viewpoint is valuable and you can see it happening. Small changes add up to big shifts. 💕
this video is amazing. i’m planning on using this myself but I think instead of “stuck” I’m going to use “reset” ❤ its so nice to see someone give an authentic approach to planning where the goals are so realistic, and essential, instead of so far fetched and overwhelming like 100 Things To Do. especially as a beginner, writing down tasks that you know you can do helps in JUST STARTING. thank you!
You are welcome! And I love Reset!!! What a great new angle to make it work for you :) exactly what I hope people can adapt for their needs. So glad this resonated with you 💕
It’s 4:30 AM and I just discovered your videos.
“What would feel good” is such an inspiring way to help me set goals!
I look forward to discovering more of your posts.
Thanks, I needed that! ❤

So glad that helped, and welcome to our little community here! So glad the algorithm lead you here :)
A part of me wishes I’d got the A5 but I’m glad I got the B6 because I found your channel as a result.
Everything you have said resonated so strongly with me. Especially having a chronic & having to remind myself that I am not lazy, I just have different energy levels on different days. I love goal setting, so having to scale back has been hard since getting ill.
That’s so kind of you to say 🥰 And I am glad this was helpful too. It’s hard to navigate when others are making a ton of goals this time of year. Finding what works for you is key. Thanks so much for sharing 💕
Thank you for sharing this info. It is just what I needed to hear in assisting myself in trying to move forward after a difficult moment in my life.❤
@@reesa1437 so glad to hear it helped. You are so welcome 💕 you got this.
This makes so much sense to me! I have ADHD, in my 60’s. Significant head injury in 2017, depression, I am now the only sibling left of three) mild asthma, Type 2 diabetes (recently diagnosed), but at the same time I love to work - especially part-time!
I very much resonate with your energy levels - brain spinning, stuck… this is perfect for me. Thank you so much for sharing!
@@annettefertitta6868 you are so welcome! So glad to hear it resonated with you and is helpful 💕
Girl. I really think you’re onto something here! I can write lists and all kinds of lovely goals - I just CANNOT accomplish them. This system is relatable for me. I can see the flexibility and the intelligence of such a system. I find the inherent flexibility to be pretty darn exciting! I think my low energy days feel more like “need to hide under a rock” attitudes. My “spin” is very real indeed (I’m SO HAPPY that you’ve used that term, yes, thank you!) but different than yours. In my “spin” I have frustration & indecision with complete lack of focus. Huh, maybe that’s energy? 🤷🏻♀ Dunno….think I need to ponder that one! Thank you for this eye-opener❤.
So so glad it resonated with you!! Thank you for sharing and all your kind words 💕✨
Thank you for sharing! This was soo helpful! Best of luck to you! ❤️
So great to hear! You're welcome 💕
❤ Katie, these videos about strategies are my favorite. I’ve been sick for over a month now and this video really helps!
Thank you! I hope you are feeling a bit better? Sending healing thoughts your way. 💕
@ ❤️ thank you so much! I hope you are well also! You really lifted me with this video, I have been feeling guilty about not accomplishing some things.
Try to release the guilt, shoulds and comparisons. I like to say “I couldn’t have been done any sooner as my body didn’t have the energy and I don’t want to burn out.” It’s hard though. The time that it gets done is the time it was meant to. 💕
@ ❤️ I truly appreciate you!
Flipping the SI goal page to accommodate the 8 Makse Life categories is genius!
Yes it works out so well doesn’t it! :)
Gosh, I stumbled across this video (thanks, algorithm) and watching it felt like coming home. I'm a huge fan of KC Davis and spoon theory. One thing I've done to help me on low energy/ low spoon days is make a "go cart" with all my pain and symptom management tools in one place. When I am having a flare, I do not have the brain power to think of what I need and do the thing. I can think of the things or do the things - not both. The cart removes the thinking piece for me so that when energy is very low, I can focus on doing the helpful thing. I say that because in my neurospicy brain, that relates to what you've done here. It never occured to me to create a menu of things I can accomplish depending on my energy level. On high energy days, I will spend a whole day planning with high hopes and never actually check off any tasks. On low energy days, thinking of what to do, leaves me feeling depleted and unable to do any more.
Looking forward to following along in your journey!
One thing that helps me with medical/ appt questions is sharing a google doc with my significant other so we both always have a way to jot questions down as they fly into our brains.
@@sheltiechick Welcome to our little community here! And thank you for such kind words! I love the go cart idea and I can see how well that would work during a flare. And I love the spreadsheet idea too!!! So glad to have you here :) 💕
@i.am.katiesanders thanks! Do you have a video or screenshot where you cover your categories? I couldn't enlarge my screenshot enough to see it well, unfortunately.
@@sheltiechick Sure! I can list them here:
Personal, Creativity (I just changed this one from Ventures to Creativity), Work, Relationships, Wellness, Financial and Environment. I based them off of the Makselife categories and removed Spiritual because I feel solid in that and changed Fun to Creativity. You can read more on their website. Hope that helps!
Ok, this is such a good system! I have PCOS, Hashimotos, and hip dysplasia. Some days it has to be the bare minimum- not because I'm lazy or a failure, but because my body is saying NOPE, not today LOL thank you for sharing!
@@velvetandvervain Exactly! And you’re welcome! 💕
Thank you for sharing your story! Wonderful, helpful video!
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful for you 💕
thank you for bringing so real
absolutely. glad it was relatable. :)
I just came across your channel but I already feel like I can relate to you. I also have IBS (Colitis), and another autoimmune condition as well. I still have these almost no energy days but even when I know that I won't get anything "productive" done, I still attempt to :( The persistent feeling of being lazy is never far from my mind...
It’s so so hard. Sending 💕💕💕
this was super helpful! Thank you!
@@MarissaGarza So glad to hear! You’re so welcome :)
Cool idea love category ideas; adhd spontanious goal crusher
Glad it resonated with you!
This was interesting. I have this planner and the whole goal part wasn’t working right. I thinking this approach might be more helpful for me than the goals route.
@@poetspicecolorwrite yes that section has been one that many have asked what do do with it. And the quarterly areas too. Sometimes you just need to come up with something that only works for you. Try it out on separate paper or pencil it in and see if it might work for you. Let me know how it goes!
Where are those colorful sticky notes from?! 😍
So sorry! I forgot to put the link in the description. The links are there now. Thanks for pointing that out :)
