Now this is the kind of highly specific BG3 content we deserve! I actually never knew that Dhourn would aggro you, I've done that fight twice, once he died in the battle and the other time he let me go peacefully but I think you can only get that result if you're a Lolth-sworn Drow. My pick for worst minor character is Havkelaag of the Society of Brilliance, he's the one who wants the Githyanki egg and if you've ever seen what happens in act 3 if you gave Esther the egg... boy it's depressing. That researcher had this attitude that he knows what's "good" over evil but instead he traumatized the Gith child enough to make the kid go insane & murder everyone. Even in Havkelaag's speak with dead dialogue, he still says he's a brilliant researcher and won't admit that he made any mistakes! crazyyyy, plus with the whole idea of the Society of Brilliance being about showing that supposedly "evil" Underdark races can be better, I'm like omg you're tainting the good name of your organization!! Screw that guy 💀
That's what I love so much about Baldur's Gate 3 - even after hundreds of hours, there's still things I'm constantly learning about! I wonder if whether or not Dhourn aggros on you is based on just encountering his other two ex friends, or if it's tied to reading their journals. But the society dude is a great sixth pick!! I'd probably add him too, but I never give the egg to Lady Esther because she's so aggravating haha so I haven't actually encountered him. But I have to try it out on my next run now just so I can be a proper hater
@@erininsoup you can speak with him, even if you kill Esther like me. He says that he still want that egg, and that esther was useless to bring it. He even tells about his plans about egg. I hate this guy, he deserves a place in this list))) but the dog-girl deserves THE 1 PLACE!!!
@erininsoup I checked the dialogue datamine and it looks like Dhourn can be made to not aggro only if you either 1) tell him you know nothing about his friends and don't ask about the forge or 2) are a female Lolth-sworn drow and intimidate him into "showing respect" to you for it (this one is what I must have done). I couldn't bear to give the egg since it also locks you out of rescuing Omeluum from the iron throne besides being mad depressing, I just looked up a video of it lol.
Yeah, tall blonde elf dude working for Kagha is one of my most hated npcs. Every chance I get, I always choose the "you disgust me" option for him. It's the entitled condescension coupled with the complete lack of backbone for me
Yes!!! If you're going to be condescending and an asshole, as least don't also be such a coward - I wanted my characters to be able to pick a proper fight
I think one of my least favorite characters is Lorroakan. Personally I find immortality a really boring motivation for doing shitty things, idk maybe that’s just because to me immortality sounds boring, but he’s not even a good villain. He’s just a little shithead that, if you don’t help him, literally gets his spine snapped like a toothpick by Dame Aylin. Arradin is also really annoying, and I feel like Wulbren goes without saying.
Yeah, Lorroakan is definitely up there! He'd be more compelling if he had an interesting or morally grey reason for prolonging his life (or even something small but personal, like falling in love with someone with a much higher life span). But he seems like an asshole all around, like how he's doing target practice on that one dude when you first visit his tower...on the other hand it is satisfying to watch Aylin absolutely destroy him.
Lorroakan is so high on my shit list due to how he treats another character i dont wanna spoil rn. But i saw the bruises on their face and damn near lost it
I would say araj oblodra’s an honorable mention but she’s probably one of the more obvious ones, which is why she wasn’t included. But otherwise, I can’t stand arfur. I know you can confront him in rivington about the explosives but if you convince him to spare the refugees and fight off his hired swords, you can find him again in that one side room of sharess’ caress. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s where his charity money is going to 💀
The funny thing about this is, that absolutely everyone is a jackass in this game. After i played halfway through my good campaign, i reseted and killed everyone. Had a blast 10/10 game
@@erininsoup yes, but i did it in the most dramatic way. After Astarion killed cazador, i sided with the gur camp people to kill him and then killed the gurs. I delivered shadowheart to be brainwashed again in act 3 and then kill everyone in there, including her. I made gale blow himself up with the nether brain and let Laezel ascend (which in this case is to be consumed by Vlaakith). Cutted Karlach head for the "paladins of Tyr". Wyll wanted to leave after the raid, so i agroed him before his model dissapeared, killing him. Halsin died in the goblin camp and i betrayed Jaheira after the shadow curse took over, right after i killed Isobel. I let the nightsong live, just to be delievered later to the wizzard, which i killed too, leaving her stuck there forever. Minsc died once i met him...i made sure of it. It was hilarious
@@erininsoup Possibly. It depends on how well you roll for persuasions or intimidation checks. In my last game (as Karlach, using the Mask of the Shapeshifter to look like a female Drow) I convinced him to hand over the memory shard and its password peacefully. I then decided to attack and kill him anyway to get the Icy Helve needed to make Morning Frost.
@@erininsoup I was still in Drow form from before entering the Blighted Village to deal with the Goblins. They are completely deferential to Drow (of either sex) and will let them peacefully enter the goblin camp without needing to roll anything to avoid a fight. They assume you must be friends with Minthara and try to hurry you along to speak with the commander.
I think most people who consider Kagha to be "the worst character" haven't fully explored her story or discovered the whole Shadow Druids plot. I really enjoyed her character, and as a druid you get an extra reward from her for completing her redemption arc!
Off the top of my head I can think of obvious ones like Baelen, Aradin, Balthazar, all of the duergar and Ironhand deep gnomes, and the girl that mistreats the dogs. Generally I dislike all those characters that act like they're stronger than you, when you can probably one shot them, like the half orc in moonrise. Also, Kagha did nothing wrong :)
Ohhhhh I also hated the abusive dog lady - some of your other choices (like Aradin) I thought about adding but the other 5 won out. But I'd replace the bluejay with her for sure 😤😤
I think it’s just because he doesn’t have as much content as the others. I like him, he’s easily the kindest and most decent dude in the party besides Karlach, but Larian kind of did him dirty imo. His own personal quest isn’t even about him, it’s about Ansur, the Emperor and his father. So for that reason he’s a bit bland. Theo did a great job with his voice acting though.
@@GabbyJFS_02 I don't like Wyll because he just stinks of DMPC. Karlach isn't on the title/load screen but Mizora is, Wyll got a cool intro when he hopped off the rocks to join the fight (even though you can't actually jump on them normally), he's a hypocrite due to the fact that he still tries to kill Karlach after she explained she was ZARIEL'S SLAVE but homeboy's a fucking warlock WILLINGLY, he also comes off as a liar cause he claims he's sorry for hunting Karlach but when you ask about the pact he says he got to choose his conditions and doesn't regret it, an finally during his events the narrator talks about how great he is how with him you can for sure defeat the Brain, and he comes off as a humble bragger, as well as an "I'm just like you" guy.
@Ragvarok i mean the whole reason he took the pact was to save his city from imminent destruction (also because Mizora and Zariel took advantage of an idealistic 17 yr old). He didnt even know Karlach was unwilling until their minds locked. All he knew and saw was Karlach wreaking havoc on the masses. If you were charged with taking someone out and they *knew* you were coming for them, would you believe any excuse they gave you? Probably not. While Larian really should've given him a storyline that furthered his own character development (insteas of other peoples') i really dont get people's reasoning for hating Wyll? He's a hothead with morals and a good heart. He wants to help people he wants to do the right thing, but he doesnt fully think things through and that's what trips him up. That and sticking to his word even when its really not in his best interests. I guess I dont consider that being hypocritical.
