Cheap & Easy DIY Neon Sign / Abstract Grass Wall Art

- I'm sure all of us DIYers are huge fans of The Sorry Girls. Well, I've binge watched all of their videos at this point, and I came across their DIY Neon Sign videos. When they said they bought their EL Wire for $10, I just about flipped!
I've always wanted to have my own custom neon sign, but I'm too broke to pay that custom money (lol, maybe one of these days). I picked up a canvas from Michaels, mimicked a grass wall with some mindless brush strokes, and added this Amazon Prime DIY neon sign! You could very well thrift a cool vintage frame and save even more money. I've also seen numerous canvases at the thrift store that you could easily just reuse and paint over.
Now, this neon wire might not be the brightest of neon signs, but I'll have to do my research and see if I can find you all an even better option. But they say "You get what you pay for" right? For $10, I ain't mad honey.

The canvas itself is gorgeous. Also like this technique of the neon light is probably one of the best diy’s I’ve seen.

Hi Anne! This looks amazing! Do you think it’s possible to do a design where the wire can hide underneath so all you see is the design? I’m thinking of doing an image and I’d like to hide the beginning and end of the wires behind the canvas. Thanks so much!!
Lia Q thank you love! You may have seen that in some areas, i punctured a tiny hole in the canvas so it could go behind in some areas. It just takes some sketching and planning but it’s super easy!
