- In this episode I tackle my biggest river yet. The mighty Goulburn River just down stream of the Eildon poundage is a classic tailrace fishery and I learn on the go pretty quickly how to locate, target and catch the many rainbow and brown trout that call this waterway home. truly is a stunning water that has some serious numbers of trout in it
Mate, persistents pays off, some nice trout. Great to watch 👍
Cheers Davey! Was a very good learning curve this trip. You never stop learning when you’re exploring. One day I’ll work out the Goulburn
Love your work - thanks for taking us along…
Cheers for watching Rob 😊
Hey cool stuff..! Those fish can get tricky!
Cheers mate! Yeh they definitely can be. One day I’ll learn to catch those early morning risers
That second spot is pretty popular and those fish will have seen a lot of flies/lures
Spot on mate.. which can be a great challenge when you go to target them. The Goulburn river and a few of the surrounding streams as a whole receive a lot of pressure from anglers but they can still be caught. All apart of the challenge and the fun
Great video buddy and a new subscriber from the UK 🇬🇧
Cheers Craig. Thanks heaps for watching! Just subscribed to your channel too mate. Look forward to checking out your page
Thanks Tommy appreciate the support. Keep up the good work ATB Craig
Hey mate they would have been feeding on blue winged olives they are everywhere at this time of year and are tiny
G’day Scotty. I reckon you’re spot on but you gotta fish a size 22 or 24 to match the size because they are that tiny! Not the biggest fan of fishing such a small hook too. I reckon I need to find a blue winged olive that is tied on really small but it’s on a size 18 hook. Just feel more confident fishing a slightly bigger hook when you hook a nice size fish. Thanks heaps for watching mate appreciate your feedback!
