Or Siyeon would start to say cute, see Gahyeon, and change it to cool but everyone knew what she was going to say. For YEARS from Scream to relatively recently.
Bruh istg if they come to a venue near you, you absolutely gotta go see them live. They are ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE live. And you think they are fine now? Bruh... they at least 10 times more gorgeous in person. Every single one of them is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. Absolutely LETHAL. Except for Jiu ( the leader of the group ) she isn't drop dead gorgeous, she is beyond that point. She is literally BRING YOU BACK TO LIFE GORGEOUS. It was their summer holiday song for 2021... Every body in K-Pop "Tralala...". And Dreamcatcher - this. Great.
Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's backing vocals is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you".
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.

Korean tradition of telling horror stories in summer because getting chills cools you down. Shaking the Love didn't work out so now THIS is how they do summer songs. Funny part is Airplane is the next song on the album and that can be an upbeat summer title track for any kpop group.

Dami (dah-mee) is the main rapper. They tend to completely change up the music for her parts which enhances how much she already stands out.
Gahyeon is a second rapper sometimes (like Boca, also Scream, Piri) but SuA does the whisper rap in BEcause and she is a whole different problem.
BEcause is what would happen if Red Sun and Good Night had a child. Next up Red Sun? (Gahyeon's eyebrows deadly weapons)

FYI again : They also said during their times in a variety show called Weekly Idol that this song is about a love-turns-into-obsessive and toxic(?) relationship. The word of "BE" in a form of capital words came from Hanja word that means "sadness", and so it represent with their hands gesture that symbolizing the word. And one interesting fact about this mv, it was inspired from a horror movie called Us.

Dami is the main rapper in the group. She typically does the most rapping with Gahyeon being second and Sua being third. Sua was the one in the in both pre-choruses when the instrumentation shifts to metal for a few seconds singing "Blue, blue your face turns blue. The look on your face is like Ocean view."
