- Yamaha DX5 synthesizer ambient pads and ethereal soundscape, using Eventide Timefactor delay and Space reverb effects pedals. This Yamaha DX5 ambient music features portamento, vibrato and both short and long attack envelopes.
The Yamaha DX5 is a 76-key vintage FM synthesizer and when paired with effects can create some nice soundscapes. Hope you enjoy the music and Yamaha DX5 synth demo.

Ambient music:
As a genre, ambient focuses on creating a mood or atmosphere through synthesizers and timbral qualities. It often lacks the presence of any net composition, beat, or structured melody. Reverb.com and eBay sold prices give good indication.
@@synth4ever thank you ! never know how the deals and trades actually went because mostly the price is without negotiation. That's why i am very unsure .. many people on youtube claim to have made deals around 1300 - 1500 and i am about to buy one for around 2000 making me a little nervous due to my (not so great income). Never the less it is a great keyboard and you made it sound so beautiful. thank you again for your response
Interesting exploration of sound/effects design, thank you. More of a pedal video than a DX. These "strong" pedals can influence sound to the point of being layered synth imitations. So when using big mixes on these pedals it is more like layering two synths or three synths. This was also a good video illustrating how these chosen FM patches are not pleasant when extended in massive delays and reverbs. Pitch would have made a difference by using a lower pitch maybe more pleasant. Depends on the mood or emotion you are hoping to transfer to us, but for this listener, it was an evil tone more than a heavenly one. (not that you are evil, I just found the tone to be irritating :) others may find it very pleasant. Very interesting video, thank you.
Interesting comment. ;) Yes I enjoy creating ambient soundscapes and reverb and effects pedals are often used as part of that. If you do not find the final sound of this patch pleasing, not much I can do. For me, I found this ethereal and calming, although I do agree the resonance is a bit overbearing at times. Cheers!

Yea, I used reverb to help create the final sound, but its a specific DX5 patch that gave me the tone I was after. But to make it super obvious I updated the title, just for you. ;)
Eventide can enhance any synth even a Bontempi 😆
