      Pleasant surprise! Lets hope Beryl doesnt ruin it.!

    You’re the best! My son is going into his senior year of high school. This video mimics a the conversation my wife and I have had over the past year. My wife and I are seriously considering him learning a trade and saving. Unfortunately my extended family has alway been hell bent on education. I don’t want him entering the workforce carrying that debt. My wife and I didn’t pay off our student debt until we were in our 30s.
    Very informative! Thank you!
    How is Renzo? Can’t wait for a slice next summer. We plan to grab quesadillas too. We haven’t been to Playa since 2019. We have the itch.
    Question - Is Romeo’s Pizza still open. I think it was on calle 4 between 10 and 15. If not 4 it was calle 2 or 6. They had a real good pie.

      Thanks Patrick for sharing that!! Sounds like our extended families are very similar regarding education.. that social pressure and “shaming” is very real and can be hard on a young man for sure. But with that being said, my brother went the route of learning a trade and saving and has done incredibly well. He’s a foreman electrician in his 30’s and well on his way to financial freedom. I wish your son all the best!
      Funny you mention Renzo, I just saw him yesterday at Volleyball. He always seems to be in good spirits and full of life! I’m sure he’d be happy to see you guys back and enjoying his pizza and lasagna!
      The other pizza spot I haven’t noticed so I’m not entirely sure. I’ll keep an eye out for it! Salud 🍻 📈🇲🇽🏝️😎

      We had a great pizza at Romeo’s years ago. I saw on Google maps that it is still there. Calle 4, next to Manne’s.

    Really cool that Ana is feeling better. She had to hustle to keep up with you 😅 . Informative video for the young folks trying to retire early or just jump ahead of the rat-race. But also, maybe some 'time refined' folks that are just now thinking about the prospects of investing, it's never to late to start something good in life. Keep up the fine work my friend.

    You are truly a great motivational person, and I appreciate you. I am 2-weeks short of my 50th and I've only started investing seriously a few years ago. I mainly own stocks in the co. I work for and have maximized all my contributions. However, (and I speak on behalf of most Gen X) had I heard these wise words when I was younger, I would have been retired by now. PS. I think we all wish we could have started earlier or avoided certain mistakes or setbacks, but as I mentioned toward the end of the video, there ARE ways to speed up the process, “super-charge” the strategy, and make up for a little lost time!

    I’ve never understood how stocks can “compound”…
    Can u explain by chance?

    • @theropemonster
      @theropemonster 3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the great question Alex! I’ll give a brief but hopefully helpful answer! It’s important to know that Dividend Growth stocks are the best compounders…these are companies with growing cash flows, that regularly raise their dividends.
      In this case, we are focusing on the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the dividend: Let’s take JPM for example. They have a 12% dividend growth rate over the last decade. (The dividend has more than DOUBLED since 2017!) Assuming that you’re reinvesting these dividends, then your growing dividends will buy ever more shares than previously… and with more shares, come higher dividends still, which buy even more shares. Eventually this becomes a runaway freight train, where each quarter, your dividend is buying you 10’s and eventually even 100’s of shares.
      Thanks for checking out the video my friend!! All the best to you 😎📈🇲🇽🏝️

      and dont forget, you have to physically reinvest the dividend (its not automatic on some platforms). (don't let dividends sit "in cash", a mistake I once made).

    2 BIG gaps. Inflation is not considered. ETF's are at about 10% (SP 500 since inception) That brings the return on capital at about 7%. 100% agree that sooner is way better.

    • @theropemonster
      @theropemonster 3 місяці тому +1

      Not all ETFs perform equally. Some, when dividends are taken into account, outperform the SP 500!
