    Thanks for being so honest and open about what it played like out of the box. Too many people don’t speak the truth when reviewing guitars. Thank you, 👍🏻🌌🌅🌠

    I think it was a fair review, total honesty and his opinion of course. Wish guitar reviews would measure the action on the 12th- it would put Fender on notice and put pressure on them to increase quality

    Great review - but can I just say that in my opinion you have been way too harsh in comparing the relic job to the one on JHS Vintage guitars. I have three JHS Vintage icon relic Strats, and I have just bought the McCready Strat. In my opinion, there is no comparison in terms of finish and relic job; the McCready Strat is MUCH better done, it's nitro, and it retains the shiny characteristics of the paint.

    Amazing review, you mentioned details that I think are VERY important. As someone who has one on order but has never owned a strat I believe you gave me the tools to think twice about it and search for a strat elsewhere.

    • @voiceofexperience
      @voiceofexperience 7 місяців тому

      If you've never owned a Strat, try a Squier CV & a Player (NOT "Player Plus") and get which one you like better.
      (The CVs are great if you play mainly "clean" & don't use the trem much; The Players have better trems & the pups are better for OD/distortion tones.)

      @@voiceofexperienceA strat trem,is a strat trem..when you know how it works after fiddling enough, any strat style trem, doesn't matter who made it, can be made to play fluidly, and stay rock solid in tune. Doesn't matter the tuners, or the body type material.none of that matters,at all,ever.whatsoever

    Thanks for your very honest review. I'm really not sure if I'll pull the plug on this one or not. These are over $3000 to buy in Australia and if it's not great straight out of the box it really makes me unsure. I don't want to have to pay for a proper setup at that price.

    Mine came in last week. Setup was horrible. Fretends are sharp😂 and raw. As a massive PJ fan i had to have one but now i,m in doubt to bring it back.if i compare this one with my 2020 ultra ( same price) the difference is night and day

    Man, thank you very much for this honest review. Just by looking at the pictures I had a feeling the relic'ing would feel "cheap" as the one on the vintera road worn (saw then in a shop and looked really horrible to me), and this is exactly what you confirmed. I'll just save more money and invest on a CS relic instrument OR in brand NEW american vintage II strat with nitro finish, which is just 4/500 euros more. Thanks again.

    Due to the neck not having finish on it, it’s more sensitive to the environment. Even my custom shop relic, needed fret job when going from summer to winter. That’s normal…..

  • @nathanking5137

    Theres talk of a John Frusciante signature strat, which is amazing and he deserves one! Problem is an original 62 strat would probably be cheaper 😂

    Had mine since release, shop set it up but frets where horrendous, exactly like you said fret ends good but frets like playing on gravel!!! Do love it though, not a good a relic as my cs56 heavy relic but for a third of the price not bad, sounds good too....

    Good, honest review. I've stopped buying Fenders due to appalling QC issues. And it's a joke when you get one of those 4-signature hang tags assuring you of a multi-stage QC process!!

    Excellent review ! Really helps me with the value for money question, before purchase. Couldn't agree more about the poor quality of recent Mexican Fenders. I bought a Robert Cray Strat direct from Fender and had to send it back, as there were so many quality issues. We may have just been unlucky, but hugely dissapointing

      Same here with a Mex Nashville Tele - the top E string was too close to the edge of the fingerboard and was prone to slip off! I had to loosen the four neck bolts and 'wrench' the neck to correct it. This model seems to have a similar issue...

    Just got mine last week, it was poorly set up and the Tone controls didnt work most of the time.
    The relic looks weird, but after the set up and everything its a good Guitar, i was hoping it would be a bit better, especially after the Tom Delonge fiasco...

    I bought one from a shop that includes a free set up so when I got it, it was incredible. I think all guitars should come from the factory with a full thorough set up. Especially the vintage spec guitars because of the neck adjustment difficulties. I do love the guitar and think the neck is the best feeling neck I’ve ever played. The pickups are definitely more than just a 60 voiced pickup. They are great to my ears.

    Demos are usually NOT indicative of ACTUAL tones ever achievable, and this one proves the point. What happened at 1:57? Feeble. Thin. Tinny. ( Blame the amp?)
    As a piece of furniture, at purchase point buyer determines taste.
    Maybe try again with different critic, and try replication of This.

    He didn't like the setup out of the box... so what...

  • @misterbeane

    Hot DAYUM, look at how close that high E string is to the edge of the fretboard above the 12th fret (vs. the low E). Imagine paying $2k for a new guitar, just to have to realign the neck in the pocket to get that pesky high E from falling off the edge every time you play above the 12th. Yikes.

  • @sportster350
    @sportster350 9 місяців тому

    I have had Gibson at double the price. Come with a bad setup right out the box. If you buy it at local shop they should set it up for free. As far as the relic goes its a 1800$ roadworn guitar not custom shop (that cost 2 to 3 times more) stop trying to compare it to a custom shop. You might be able to get a used nash at this price.
