I bought this album on a first date in 1995. Her and I drove all over Chicago listening to it, making it all the way to Milwaukee before we turned around. I later married that girl and have been with her ever since. I can’t tell you how much that album and subsequent ones meant to me. Thank you so much!
is this real? this song is amazing! I traveled the world with this song, for you to have an idea I am from south america , had no money no visa anything just a terrible job eating my life , I was looking for some new music in a p2p server It was like 2007 and found Red elephant , It sounded emo and grunge and indie and catch me inmediatelly, a few months later this selection of songs created an energy wave or something like that, that somehow made posible for me to find a job at a cruise line and I remember listening to this song many times on sunsets in the middle of the sea
i don't know too much since ive only been a fan for about a year, but sdre had a record in the works in 2018, but something to do with dave grohl not loving it and just the members general relationships between foo fighters and sdre meant that it didn't see the light of day. i believe there's one or two tracks from them sessions floating around? im not too sure. i don't know enough to say anyone is to blame, things just didn't work out but the possibility of it releasing eventually or the band doing something new is always there
Thank you very much for posting these performances, and for 30 years of inspiring music. An acoustic live album spanning your career would be an instant purchase for me and many others, I'm sure.
I love lp2 and wish there was more live footage of this era. You’re a true hero Jeremy. I’ve been a fan since high school and I’m 40 now. You’re music is unquestionably special. ❤
one of my favorite songs of all time. and the way you sing it is something i aspire to as a vocalist. a truly bittersweet mix of confidence and desperation. thank you so much for all the music over the years, and i really enjoy hearing the songs in stripped down acoustic settings as well. 😎
your songs are timeless and your talent only ever improves. thank you so much for sharing - you and your part in sunny day have been really important to me, even indirectly, the honesty and care in your music means a lot
Been on my mind lately. Such a spark in the dark. Found Sunny Day in the 90's when I bought Diary on a hunch diggin' for treasure. Never stopped loving the heart of this music. When LP2 dropped, that was it. 💯💖🎸 Seen SD many times and ROTFQ performed at Cotton Club Atl, 98 or so. Blew my mind. Recently, w/winter coming on decided to dust it all back off and read the wiki. You were always such a humble king and some of the bs I read there really bummed me out regarding the recent attempt to re-spark SD etc. dunno how much is true but if even 10% it's not ok. I work at a studio now in Athens Ga. called Rabbithole Studios, it's definitely high magic. Plz holla if you ever decide to tour again in any capacity, keep us in mind, we have quite an impressive facility including an edible forest, gardens, stage trailers, a grand hall etc. It's quite a jewel , w/paradise vibes on high and plenty of unbelievably unique features. 🌼 So much heavenly love to you brotha, thank you so much for walking the walk, and being such a worthy inspiration in the valley of the shadow. 💯🙏🏻👑
Nice to hear this in acoustic again! There used to be an mp3 somewhere on the web of acoustic radio performance from back in the day but I believe it's lost now.
The drums made this song on the album, but damn, hearing this was like hearing Everlong played in acoustic for the first time. Well done! I remember watching SDRE live in Tempe like 24 years ago and talking to the band next to their bus. We asked the drummer if he remembered that song and he air drummed it out and we lost our shit! Don't know if you remember me Jeremy, but we met before your concert after my girlfriend saw you outside the venue and we were just totally star struck. We literally had nothing to say to you because we were so unprepared. Thanks for taking the time to talk to us though and making the experience one we will never forget!
I have a radio recording of this song from 1994 when you played this on air with Marco. Always loved this tune. Excited to see you at the Croc next week!
Dude. I'll never forget the first day I found your album Diary as a kid. SDRE helped me through a lot of tough times growing up, and I thank you for that. All the albums are awesome, but Diary is dear to me. I'm getting a tattoo of the album cover some day. Super glad I came across your channel. You dah man, Jeremy. I'm a metalhead, but SDRE is still, and always will be one of my most favorite bands. 🤘
Hi Jeremy, how is it going? Are you gonna post more videos here on UA-cam? You know, I'm a big fan of you. Your Songs are still part of my life. Please post more videos in here...
After one of my first trips, this song was in my head for days . . . It's part of me, for sure . . . now I'm finally trying to cover it . . . Playing baritone uke way more than guitar or anything else . . .
Hey Jeremy. A lot of fans are lost on the lyrics to this album, which can be seen by the exercises in futility that are the online transcriptions. It is my understanding that much of the lyrics were gibberish and that you later went back and completed them. So I was wondering if the revised, completed lyrics to this album will ever be released in some capacity, as I'm sure fans would be stoked by the possibility.Thank you for the great music.
That might have been a bit of an exaggeration that "most" of the lyrics were gibberish. Improv might be a better word. "Iscarabaid" certainly was though, and moments in other songs. I doubt there will ever be a lyric release for this. It is what it is. In fact I love some of the version I've seen.
@@jeremyenigk I've always loved this song out of all of them the most. I find it quite fitting that all of the true lyrics aren't known because it goes to show the heart has it's own language. This song hits me right in my heart and soul, knows no words or meaning and is just pure feeling. I close my eyes and this songs transports me to worlds and emotions I too can't put into words. Thank you for this treasure!
this is great. I never even considered hearing lp2 songs acoustic. to be fair I never look you up. still, thanks for the effort that gave us the album. especially Williams drumming, as that really completed it.
Jeremy, do you ever play stuff from the Fire Theft these days? "Carry You" still gives me chills, love that song and many others. Oooh, same question, some of the stuff you did on the US of Leland OST? "Set It On Fire" is incredible and tragically few of your fans have heard it.
Damn dude, I'm just learning about your band. This is the first time hearing this song. You sound amazing. I hope you're still creating out there. There is something angelic about your voice, man. I rooting for you.
I'd love to know what the updated lyrics are for this (or any other 'finished' lyrics of the tracks on LP2). Thanks for doing these videos by the way - definitely a bright spot during tough times.
I have been listening to “that Virtua feeling when subpop and Sega get together” since I was like eight in 1998. For those that don’t know, it was like a mix CD of all the random acts Sub Pop had at the time. A sampler you might call it. Only last night did I finally take the time to look this band up. Holy Shit. Such amazing 90’s crunch! Love it to this day! I haven’t uploaded any music to my DarthXasthur channel in forever.. may be time for a Theodore B. Cover.... If I ever get that brave. Doubtful. Awesome to see you along music dude, let alone still sounding AMAZING! Killer voice!

So nice Jeremy, you should eventually put out the unreelased song from 2009! The one where the lyrics sounds like "get your camera out" "why don't you" etc. That song deserves to be heard by the masses
The beauty of this song was its ability to heal during rough times and hype you up in good times.
His voice still sounds incredible
For what it’s worth this song has got me through some of the toughest of times I’ve ever had to deal with. I thank you good sir
I appreciate you saying so. Thank you. Glad it helped.

Wait a while with
Running hound night servants
Trip through the portal we made
Through them talking
My impression grows
Swayed scars part of our own
Dream World
We climb the wreck
Cold covered heart
Still beating
And no we know not now the reason why
If I suspect
Your covert charm
In my hand
My eyes reflect the surface, farewell
Wide eyed compromise
Swayed stars and time is sewn
The way you restart again
I’m all talk again
When I’m on top the world
The way you restart with me
When ire is futile
I say Go there
When is there worry one might
Touch me
We climb the wreck
Cold covered heart
Still beating
And though we know not now the reason why
If I suspect
Your covert charm
In my hand
My eyes reflect the surface, farewell
