I love Jeremy Enigk. Met him a couple times and he’s one of the kindest most humble people I’ve met. Also, noticed there are zero dislikes. When you hear Jeremy how can you not like him?
Its sept. 5th 2022 that im seeing this. Listening to this automatically took my mind and soul back to 2005 in grade 11, sitting with a girlfriend at a beach/park and I remember hearing this for the first time and it was just a good evening... everthing was teenage perfect for a few moments...I remember when the school year started, I desperately searched for the song and played it in my room to remember that summer. After all these years Ive forgotten this song, until now.
Jeremy, I went to your New Orleans House of Blues show a few nights ago and it was nothing short of a religious experience for me. It was a bucket list show and exceeded my high expectations. Thanks so much for creating such wonderful music and adding New Orleans to the tour.
I met Jeremy at Amoeba Records when he was touring with The Fire Theft, and he's literally one of the nicest people to be in such an influential and memorable place in music history. Such an amazing human being.
Jeremy I really hope you would see this Only recently I came across your music And the song 'In Circles' , man I have listened to a lot of music in my life and no other song made cry like a baby like that I dream To heal your wounds But I bleed myself Those three lines , it means so much And your voice, I could feel the pain you were putting out Every time I listen to the song, It is like an eternal pain were are sharing and at the end we move on with life with a smile Thank you for your beautiful music❤️
@@jeremyenigk Sorry I’m late but just came across these acoustic vids you put up. I’m just touched. This song always makes me cry reminding me of a special time in my life and even harder with this version. Thank you so much for sharing you and your music with the world. Forever your fan.
I remember waking out of the mall with this CD and the woman I was with. We listened to this for the next 12 hours as we lounged in a hammock. Thank you for the moment.
It's breaking my brain trying to understand how I'm just now hearing you for the first time at 48 years old. It's like a vital piece of information was missing for thirty years. I feel relieved to have finally found you. 💙
You know what, though? My life was such hell for much of those 30 years, and your music would have become intertwined with unwanted memories. I'm in a good place now. The timing is impeccable!
this song makes me feel so warm like i want to cry but smile at the same time :') its rare for a song to make you feel like that. so happy this acoustic exists. oh and see you in september!! :)
One of my favorites songs (and artists) ever...Your music inspired me a lot from my adolescence until now. Thank you very much for your music. I love seeing how simple and honest your songs sound today. Loves from Argentina! (Still waiting for you to visit us)
beautiful, great guitar tuning, I know you're not taking requests, but rain song would sound amazing with this acoustic vibe. PD: "The Rising Tide" is the "disintegration" of its generaton, masterpiece of an album.

It is not often I’ve run across such treat. Very good stuff - keeps the SDRE music alive for me and the personal feel is sweet. Thx JE - one of a kind voice - it only started a genre. 😎
Sorry not Sorry, But after How it Feels to Be something On, I never advanced to newer albums really. But this song is so beautiful! I bought this album when it came out, but part of me felt something missing. Now, 24 years later, I've changed, we've all changed, and now I'll give this album a whirl again. Pretty much love everything Enigk does. So here's to not being a bratty indie emo punk kid in the late 1990s and adulting to Enigk :)
This was the very first Downloaded song I ever heard back in 2000. It was horrible quality but I didn't care, I wanted to hear the new Sunny Day song! Thanks for posting this, I love it!
Was an acoustic version? If so, I was the first person to share that. I ripped the audio from a video AOL hosted from a set Jeremy and Dan recorded at the offices of Spin Magazine. I put it on Napster and WinMX
Humans make music for The Gods, and you know they are vibing Jeremy. From the first Sunny Day album to now. Love all of it. When are you planing to come to Hong Kong dude?
Such an amazing songwriter you are. You always have been, and you've kept your voice in top form for so many years. And I gotta say, for years, this might sound strange. But I always thought Billy Corgan ripped off some of your style with a few of his tracks. Here and there.
Interesting take. I've been a Toad/Glen fan for 30 years, and a SDRE/Jeremy fan almost as long. Apart from both being great songwriters, I have not heard similarities in their style. Curious as to what led you to draw the comparison.
@@jeremyenigk Thanks, mate! Sounds familiar... I used to play "Soma" from Siamese Dream to my girls when they were younger, and there is a part of it I can't hit anymore.
One of my favorite all time songs by you! Please check out my cover of 48 I did last week. Would love your feedback! Met you at the Metro in chicago over a decade ago after your show. You’re such an amazing musician and have provided me with a massive amount of inspiration and joy from listening to your music. One of the greats!
I've found that with Sunny Day as well as Jeremy's solo stuff and the Fire Theft you're either totally sucked in and enchanted and overwhelmingly captivated by every word, note and off-time start and dynamic and careful musical arrangement, or you just don't get it, which is fine but unfortunate .
this record came out right around the time I tried to kill myself. I was allowed to listen to my headphones in the hospital for the 2 and a half months I didn't take the evil medications. always thought it had such an Indian feel to it. it resonates so deeply with me though because of my situation.
i always like when singers chose to not hit the high note. they know their limitations and would rather hit the note on the lower octave than risk not hitting it. . . self awareness is a good thing in a musician.
I wish I could tell Jeremy some day in person how important his music has been in my life.
Stunningly beautiful....Just one of the most special songs ever and to hear it so raw and live by Jeremy is so fantastic!

this reminds me of the demo that leaked before the album came out, i always enjoyed this song stripped back and haunting.
I'd love if SDRE or your acoustic stuff came to Maine again someday. Underrated musician.
This is one of my favorites. Love it
all around
i see you're under my skin
cruel to say
i've known the best of my life
never again to hear
the river's song so clear
every day's another scene
the world around and everything for you
an open door, a cauldron of waves rush in
through every house
for all
so they say another lie:
'love's a rumor but love will die'
we're lost and wandering
deep in the ocean
there lies a wave for you...
when you hit the ground it's hard to speak
but it's who you are
a shining star
go tell the millions begin!
we'll run through the fields, the turning of wheels
down with the buildings, worlds on your shoulders
climb through the wasteland
wait for the sky to remind you
these things are true...
every day's another scene
the world around and everything for you
an open door, a cauldron of waves rush in
through every house
for all
so they say another lie:
'love's a rumor but love will die'
we're lost and wandering
deep in the ocean
there lies a wave for you...
when you hit the ground it's hard to speak
but it's who you are
a shining star
go tell the millions begin!
we'll run through the fields, the turning of wheels
down with the buildings, worlds on your shoulders
climb through the wasteland
wait for the sky to remind you
these things are true...
about the day
Damn, this is the most beautiful song I've heard!! Goose bumps all over.
I did a cover of this song years ago and it will never amount to the original. Thank you for inspiring me.
Please do more songs from the rising tide Jeremy 😭

CGCFAC -Originally it was DADGBD but I have to tune it down even more to be able to hit the notes with my voice
