Guitarist Henry Garza wrote the lyrics as a prayer. When he was 18, his son died of sudden infant death syndrome (S.I.D.S). It's about the pain he felt and wanting to escape this world and see his son.
Oh how sad! 💔 I love this song, but didn't know this was the back story.
Came to say the same. I understand a parents grief. I’m waiting to see my sons smile and touch his face again
I know that feeling well I lost mine at 18 months
😥Oh God, absolutely heart breaking.
I have loved this song from a teenager... But I never knew that story behind the song. No wonder that it was so powerful and heartfelt. And it came out in every note.
I LOVE Los Lonely Boys. You won’t find a better “Texican” group
Yes.
Nothing racist about calling Texans with Hispanic heritage Texians, Texicans, or Tejanos. They were either here before and/or showed up and fought with every other immigrant that won Texas independence and makes up our unique heritage.
Look for Texas Tornadoes
@@polocash11 Hey baby que paso? What a great band and that song is often in my head on repeat.
This song is on repeat IN MY car, my house, and my workshop. I’ve been listening to these guys for years! They’re right up the road from me. Well, 120 miles but that’s close in Texas! They are fantastic! I love to see them keep going. They should be STARS!
Interesting story/history with this song…. I retired from the Air Force in early 2004 and returned to my hometown in Montana to spend time with my mom who at that time had been diagnosed and was battling cancer…. I had also recently divorced and was going thru many personal (internal) battles. This song came out during that time and immediately filled a void in my life when I needed it most…. Everyday it was on the radio… numerous times, and it always lifted me up….. fast forward a year and I met my current wife.. she was active duty in the Air Force and getting ready to relocate assignments….. she was selected to go to San Angelo, Goodfellow AFB…. I was working for a company and was able to transfer to a position they had in San Angelo…. I was fortunate enough in that position to work with a lot of good people… and that included the Garza brothers….
It is ironic how life happens and how small the world can be…. God has a habit of putting people in your life exactly when you need them. Every time I hear this song, that entire history plays on in my mind…. I can close my eyes and see everything like it was yesterday. Music is powerful.
I appreciate what you do and love your passion, keep up the great work….. you’re changing lives.
I'm an Air Force retired too after many many many years of service active and Reserve.... music is one of the things that helped me deal with life and service... each song marks a place in my timeline.... Thanks for your service.
Thank you both for your service. And your wife as well sir
🎉
I saw these guy perform in South Padre Island last weekend. They still got it. 🔥🔥🔥
You know these guys are gonna be rocking it forever! They come down to Abilene regularly, that’s the ONLY good thing about Abilene, Texas!
That album is in my top ten. Every song is amazing. I don't speak spanish but when they sing and play you don't need to. It always comforts me and bring my soul peace.
If you were looking for positive vibes, I’m glad you found Los Lonely Boys.
Oh, and the chills are real!
Los Lonely Boys were heavily influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan and you can hear it.
Their cover of Steve's version of Superstition is AWESOME SAUCE
Oh man I love these guys! Saw them along with Santana-what an amazing concert! And as an old lady who grew up in the 60’s I still love that long hair.
Los Loney Boys are a group of 3 brothers that are of Mexican descent who live in Texas. This song was a huge hit in both of the Spanish and English versions in the early 2000. I still love this song to this day.
Such a great song! You couldn't get away from it on the radio; it was EVERYWHERE. I haven't heard any other hits from them, but this song along is enough for greatness.
I've always thought this was a perfect song. It's just so beautiful to me. 🙏❤️
This song came out when my dad was dying from liver failure. Even though he lived a rough life, he knew the bible inside and out and never lost faith! I played this song at his memorial service along with a slide show of him. This song will always have a special place in my heart. I missed my dad so much but, I get a warm feeling inside knowing he joined our Heavenly father and my mom in heaven. Mom and dad met with they were 12 and 14. Now, they are back together in paradise!! Thank you so much for reacting to this song!!
…Amen. They’re BOTH ‘Home’..
Wow! That was truly touching. My dad passed away 5 years ago from liver cancer and was a man of faith and he loved this song and this group. And I feel the same way about this song. thank you so much for sharing that.
What a wonderful sentiment to your parents ❤🙏🏼✨🌹💫
This entire album is great. I live in San Angelo and have been watching them play since they were teenagers. One their biggest influences was SRV and their live shows are very entertaining. The show at the Fillmore was fantastic. For a fun song try “ 16 Monkeys”
Keep the great reactions coming and cheers from West Texas!🇺🇸🇨🇱🤘🏻😎
I haven’t heard this song in years. It’s so good! Ugh!
I know they won a Grammy, but they did not get the recognition they deserved. If this song does not put you in a good mood and make you want to vibe you need to pinch yourself and make sure you are still alive. They sound great live also. No autotune needed here folks.
I love this! Never wanted it to end! And I agree, the lyrics are everything. ❤️🔥🇨🇦
I Love LOS LONELY BOYS and Heaven ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Henry is a incredible guitarist!!!
This song came out in 2003. It was so popular. It was on the radio constantly in the area that I live in. We have a popular Hispanic community here. I wish these brothers were still making music. They are so good! Nice reaction, Sebs.
Much love and prayers to you ❣️🙏
New single SEND MORE LOVE....give it a listen.
I love Henry and his hair omg love it. Would love to run my finger's through it just once lol He is my favorite. love this song. awesome rection.
Song helped me through my Mommy's death, bought the CD ... And ALL their songs are 🔥
These brothers have sang to me on every car trip. ❤
OK, so in love with this song! From South Dakota and haven't heard them, but...oh man...I am now a fan! Thank you for introducing this band and song to my life!!
Oh my gosh, I haven't heard this song in forever! I loved this song when it came out! They have a totally different sound than other bands! Thanks for a great reaction and reminding me about this wonderful song!
So happy to see Los get exposure again! They are so amazing!
You’ve got to discover Selena! Texas Pride!
I absolutely love Selena❤ I'm white and Native American and know very little Spanish. All of her music is magical to me. I've always been fascinated and saddened by her story. What a waste of a talented beautiful young woman 💔. She made history tho and now we can all still enjoy a small part of her
I’m a fan! Love their harmonies and chill sound. Their song “Velvet Sky” is really good too.
This feels so weird to hear now, I totally forgot this song - and group - existed, but when it first came out it was played constantly on nearly every radio station.
The first time I heard it made me weep because of how beautiful it is and how it rocks. I introduced my dad to this group before he passed away and he was in love with them. (RIP Papi)
They represented Latinos/Mexican Americans so well with dignity and uplifting music rather than further negative stereotypes. And whenever they throw in a little spanish- que rico! They might never have the world wide reach as Soda Stereo but, as a Mixed Tex-Mexican myself- they are perfection.
Keep doing what you're doing, man.
Damn I am so glad you're hearing this group. I've been married 20 years and these are the guys I was listening to when my first of four was in my belly and my husband saying every song to him!
I am enjoying watching you and your wife walking this music journey. BTW, I am a 60 year old woman with country roots. Thank you for sharing.
I first heard this song in Saving Grace season 1 episode 1 2007. I have loved it ever since. Proud Texan here loving this Texan group. Beautiful, just beautiful.
Loved this song since it came out.. heard it hundreds of times and it still makes me smile. Perfect brother harmonies! This whole album is a good listen!
This song is just so beautiful and uplifting. We need this in the crazy times we are living in. I enjoy your discovery of all the great songs I grew up listening to.
Hey Sebs thanks for showing these guys on your channel mate,their great!!
I highly recommend attending their concerts! They are amazing musicians and singers! I’ve seen them twice and hope to see them again someday.😊
They are touring now. Was just in Houston and coming to Ft Worth this month.
This movie was on steady rotation on CMT when I came out, but also played on MTV and VH1...another reason to love it. Another great song of theirs is More Than Love. Also a beautiful song.
I remember this song 🎶 it’s awesome 😎 God Bless Los lonely boys ♥️💖♥️
This whole album is SO good ❤
As a Californian, I love these guys. Guitarist: Henry Garza, Bassist: JoJo Garza, Drummer: Ringo Garza, Jr.
We in Denver Co Love Los Lonely Boys !!!! Seen them many times here in Denver !!!!They are very Awesome and Amazing!!! They sing Tex Mex Music !! They are Bio Brother’s!!!! I’ve even traveled to see them in Albuquerque New Mexico at the Sandino Casino ???
I've been listening to these guys for years. Love all their cds
It's so nice to hear a band doing real music-playing instruments and singing! I'm so tired of the mumbling stuff, the auto-tuned voices, the synthesized drivel. Long live Los Lonely Boys!
Beautiful music. Love that song. Lovely music. Thanks so much.😊
Great song. It's fine that you're putting this in your Country playlist because if I remember correctly some Country radio stations played this song and I remember the video being aired on CMT
I've heard this song hundreds of times and absolutely love it, although I have never seen the video. Thanks for posting and for pausing and reading the lyrics. Just a beautiful song with outstanding lead guitar.
Omg!!!!! Memories!!!! I absolutely loved this song, still do, it never gets old!!!!
I have gone to many concerts and Los Lonely boys have always made beautiful music and after meeting them. I have all their albums. Love them so much when you need the right music at that particular time in life.
As a Texan- have LOVED & Listened to them since they first came out!! TURN IT UP!!
Thanks for sharing. My first time hearing them and they are so smooth. ❤😊 Remind me of 70s rock.
Listened to pop and country music growing up but didn’t watch videos. Didn’t realize I already knew this song and every word to this song! But you watching the video gave me the nostalgia feel and I learned about the band and the Spanish they speak in the song.
I absolutely adore these brothers. There music is fantastic!
It must be so young and have so much great music to discover. Gen x had to listen to the radio until a song came on, then walkmen came along and we thought we were in heaven. Youngsters can find literally, any music in the world with a simple search. Enjoy and be thankful.
Yes yes yes!!!!!!!! Love The Los Lonely Boys!! SENORITO, so many more!! HENRY GARZA is amazing on the guitar!!
These guys are right up the road from me. I’ve been listening for 20+ years and they just get better.
Los Lonely Boys -- been listening to them for a long time. Great group.
Can listen 🎧 to this song all the time ! ❤
Loved your analysis. Have to watch again! Great, great song.
Been listening to these guys for years.. Excellent music, thoughts, vibe, etc...
This is like a sunshine vibe of heaven.. like you feel the good vibe and know heaven can only be sweeter than the music you hear about it
A brand new band for me today. Loved it from beginning to end. Their harmonies are SO reminiscent from a song from long ago- Will figure out what the title is and let you know. This song has such a chill sound, great voices, and killer guitar-playing. A+ for me. Thanks Seb. and I see you were feeling their groove as well! 😊
Man I loved these guys when they exploded on the country scene..I hated that they sort of disappeared to the mainstream. Great reaction!
They are touring right now and the bass player hair is just as long as the guitarist hair now.
I’m glad I bought their cd
Los Lonely Boys are great. I saw them Live when this song came out and I'd love to see them again.
I could give you so many texas musicians from the 70’s abd 80’s you will not quit grinning for days. Hit me back
The first time I heard this song I literally cried I have been their fans since I very first heard them they are awesome❤❤
Wow, it's been a minute since I have heard this song! I really enjoyed it when it first aired on the radio, but it was played a lot. Definitely nice to revisit it after all these years. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much. 😊
Love this song -- I haven't heard it in many years! It dominated the radio when it came out!
I love this song! Very upbeat! Beautiful music!
My favorite song and my favorite group!!!! Love these guys. ❤❤
glad you did this one i liked it years ago and had forgotten about it so that's cool you brought it back
Always loved this song! Thanks for doing this.
This is such a feel good song. I smile every time I hear it. They're such a great group .
I love Los ❤Lonely boys, the first time I heard it 15 yrs.ago. Watched the Grammys so I could watch them win the Grammy. Inspired
Great reaction. Mahalo for the translation of the bridge. I loved this song the first time I heard it.
Please react to their other song, that I love equally, More Than Love. I like the sentiment of this song over the story of the video performance (incase you react to the video performance version).
Mahalo for sharing 🤙😎
😎💭
I can remember being so jealous of his hair back in the day lol I didn't realize how much I missed this song till now❤ Thanks for checking them out
~~~🎸 🎶~~~
Thanks, Sebs! I've always loved this song... what a vibe! Totally hits in the heart...
This song turned me onto Los Lonely Boys when it came out. Have loved them ever since. They have a lot of great songs.
Texicano Rock-n-Roll...Lead Singer and guitarist is Henry Garza with his brothers Ringo and Jo-Jo. Check out 'More Than Love', 'So Sensual', and 'Senorita'...or etc,etc. They are touring still~! PS> Henry wrote this song as a prayer after he lost his 1st born son to SIDS at the age of 18. RIP
Thank you for introducing me to this group! They are on my music playlist already. I enjoy your style vlog, you’re not run of the mill, like so many are.
Wow love these guys 🎤 singing ❤
Love this song, it's been on my playlist for a long time. Great reaction, thanks Sebs!
Wow..how can you not have heard these amazing guys.
You must check out their live version of Onda (Live at The Fillmore). It's quite long (over 20 minutes), but you will be blown away by their beautiful musicianship. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Great blast from the past...thank you for playing this song!
One of my very favorite groups ever. And I'm not exactly young in years anymore, but am young at heart.
Omg I haven't heard this in ages! I remember when it first came out, I went and got their album lol...definitely add to country playlist, this was on the CMT (country music tv) charts ❤
It's just great music Sebs. 👍🏽
Welcomed into my catalog yrs ago.
Enjoy. ❤
I've been watching UA-cam reactions 5 years and I've requested this awesome group since day #1.
You're the only one I follow that reacted to them!
I've followed them since this song came out! I couldn't get to the store fast enough to buy the CD!
Great reaction!
Bro so glad you found them. Been one my all time favorite. Enjoy the rest of their music. The brothers have it going on.
I remember one my five-year-old daughter saying to me Daddy I like this song. But I asked her why she said because it makes you smile. I love you Ciara Hamby
We met Henry at a Walmart in Midland, TX a few years ago. He was the nicest guy ever. Took pics with us and talked to our kids like he knew them their whole life.
He had a cart full of water guns and drinks for their show later that night. 😂
The song was written by the guitarist and vocalist when he was 18. He had just lost his infant son and missed him very much
Love, love, love Los Lonely Boys. Thanks for hitting them. Check out Dime mi amor and Real Emotions…wasn’t their father a musician?
I Love Los lonely Boys!!!!!
I really enjoyed watching You hearing You enjoy hearing them.....😂✋🏽👋🏽✋🏽😊
Back in the day when this song came on the radio you HAD TO get up and dance. You cannot sit still for this one.
Thank you for your interpretation of this song. I have loved it for a log time now. However, I have never thought of it as a prayer until now. This song means a lot more to me now, thanks to you.
WOW... Thank you for translating the spanish in that... I've loved that song for years but never had anyone to translate it... Yes... its as much a heartfelt prayer as this new Oliver Anthony...
Check out Stevie Ray Vaughn if you want so guitar and singing...
I have followed this group since the 90's. Love dancing to this beat. The purest music ever.
You need to revisit this band again. This song, Heaven, was on their debut album 20 years ago. Just prior to the covid pandemic, they were on the verge of breaking up due to the relentless touring schedule. The pandemic gave them the break they needed. They are about to release their first album in 10 years and the new stuff is awesome. Two new songs can be found on you tube and both have powerful messages for the world today. Please react to, Send More Love and Wish You Would. I know you will love them both. Thanks for helping to keep great music alive.
I was the only one out of my friends who jammed to this song. Still my jam to this day.
One of the Best Honky Tonk bands Ever Live..The Boys Rock..
I wore that song out. very inspiring because it's so relatable. They never really got another good hit. Kinda faded out of the mainstream. But one of my all time favorite songs to play when I'm in the spot where I feel frustrations in life. Reminds us of life is not given for life, it is given for living. Keep moving in the right direction and Heaven will find you. God Bless! And sometimes I laugh at the songs you have not heard. But, hey, generations apart I get it. That is what makes it so cool. 80s and 90s had some pretty diverse music. Great time to grow up. Keep reacting and we'll keep watching, just to get a good laugh. LOL. Stay positive!
I first saw them on Austin City Limits (the same place I first saw Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Los Lobos), and I immediately fell in love with their music.
