Before you go to town on the engine i'd suggest you to take care of your wheel/tyre setup Jamie. Obviously your car is struggling badly with traction, even on 3rd gear. Get some 8x18 Ultraleggeras or Pro Track One Wheels with the PS4S in 235/40/18. This will feel like adding power too because your car will pickup much better, especially in 3rd gear.
One could also argue that there's not much of a point building a 600hp fwd car, let alone 700hp. I personally wouldn't want to put much more than between 440-470bhp and a sensible/considered amount of Torque through a front wheel driven car and even that only with some serious tyre Setup like some CUP2's in 265/35/18 front and 235/40/18 rear. Power is worth a damn if you can't make use of it, at least in my opinion...

It's been available in 235/40/18 for quite a while. They recently also added 225/40/18 but i can't find that where i live just yet.
Whats the benefit of smaller wheels - why would they pickup faster? Mainly wanted to swap for better ride quality and less chance of kerbing (yes yes learn to drive - went from an mx5 to this, took a bit of getting used to :D)

I think around 2500 should see stage 2. Been looking at taking mine to VRS. Stage 3 is ridiculous,prob up over 10k.

I’d have a Leon cupra over any of the other performance vag models. Drive my partner mk2 cupra and honestly it is an absolute ball to drive. Base spec interior trim is absolutely top notch compared to GTI or the S models trim. Feels so light and easy to drive.

To hear your exhaust when stationary, ESC off and first gear with the clutch in and you'll be able to rev the whole way up!
That's one way to hurt the thrust washers which are a common weak point on the tfsi/tsi

i stage 2’d my golf r not long after i had it and it was unreal how happy i was for the longest time. smoking c63’s and all sorts of 60k cars for fun. now currently at stage 3 its a whole different world! good work mate.
Jamie how much is insurance once u mod ur car like that, like can u not tell them and it doesnt really matter cause most of the time if u crash its likley only to be bodywork damage? or do you have to tell them and it whacks insurance up by 1-2 grand?
I would like to see some more stages before the final one, pushing it further on stock internals with a hybrid turbo and max out the stock fuel system. Keep up the good content ;)
What should I change on my mk6 gti? Its completely stock now, stage 1 software is coming soon.

I had a manual Cupra 280 with a Miltek cat back exhaust and a carbon fibre Apr intake system. Had a stage 1 with 364 bhp... It was madness, I can only imagine what this is like with 400bhp. Can't wait for more videos!
Little tip, don't keep the traction control fully off. You'll be in the garage getting new tires every month.
how was ur clutch on stage 1 im looking to get a 280/290 cupra but heard that the clutches on a stage 1 are dodgy lmk
It wasn't too bad. Changed it at around 60k miles as it was on it's way out. It was slipping a little before I got the remap anyway. I wouldn't bother changing it unless you're over 60k miles. If it's been changed before to a stock one then I'll just leave it on. I've heard they're usually pretty good up to about 350bhp @@theofficialrm9713

haha after i watched your video when you where making it stage 2 i called mrc i said i wanna change the booking for stage2 insted of stage 1 on my audi s3 and had to quickly buy and fit bigger intercooler and downpipe ! had 4 days to do that before my booking haha but i love it!! it done 404ps 577nm and its a beast !

Your steering will feel different.... Dog bone mount makes engine stiffer which helps turn in ect. Also heavier brakes on front wheels too. You should look into REVO engine mounts and a Anti lift kit bushes for the lower arms. Both those will help big time with wheel spin

I love Leon Cupra's had a lot of experiences in them. My mate used to have a mk1 Cupra 225 it was a weapon!

This car is naaaaughty Jamie. It's in perfect daily mode right now, gonna be so sketch at 600+ HP, especially when FWD. You'll definitely want to start looking for some 8 or 9 inch wide wheels all round to get the power down.
You're making me reconsider if I should buy a MK1 Cupra R or if I should just jump on the MQB train now...rahhh...

A stage 1 APR RS3 FL does 100-200 in less then 8 sec. My best time is 7.59 sec with dragy - stock car with only stage 1 APR map. You need an upgrade turbo ( stage 3) to get sub 8 sec. 100-200 times with those 2.0T.

Jamie I have a similar setup on my cupra and the first thing I would say to you is. PS4 tyres and a dogbone engine mount. Stop thst engine block bouncing up and down. And the best tyres possible to keep the traction on the car. These subtle mods need doing on a standard car in my opinion. Never mind one with the power this car has.
If you are working with littco, it'd be really interesting to see how each turbo performs, from the very basic to the L560
Go for the stock turbo core change, want to see how it boosts on that.
A bit of a journey to see if the incremental changes are of benefit and which offers the best in terms of drive-ability to live with as a 'daily'. Is bigger, better?
Would love to see far you can take it on stock pump but don’t want you to waste your money on that when the big daddy’s sat there wait for take off. Question though do you wish you had waited and found something dsg instead of the manual?
