Fantastic ranking! Yeeeah, I'd have to agree with you on Lust for a Vampire. It's the most heterosexual-feeling lesbian vampire movie I've ever seen. I would also recommend Vampyres (1975), which has the closest thing to a happy ending I've seen in a 70s sapphic vampire movie, as well as Alucarda, which isn't exactly a vampire movie, but draws heavily from Carmilla, and is simply WILD.

Those are some great picks. I'd recommend Vampyres from 1975. The plot is paper-thin with batshit scenes of murder and horniness. And the ending is just wonderful from a "fuck this guy" angle.

Ooh! And I'd definitely point you to the films of Jean Rollin. Fascination is a particularly good example of the genre.

I love The Velvet Vampire! It has Bi energy too. Normally I don't like desert imagery but it works for me here.
Ever seen The Vampire Happening? It's a horror comedy from '71. It has the whole you inhereted a castle thing that Luigi's Mansion made fun of. I haven't seen it since I was 13 I think. Pretty sure it's on Tubi. I need to rewatch it myself.

To the 70s is when horror got sexy delving into territories that we did not before especially in sexuality see I think vampires are immortal and they have time to experiment I love Camilla I knew of the book but after watching the Web series I had to read the book and I love Ingrid Brook the 70s was her golden years.

Killed it once again #nightmaremaven 👏 I'd go as far back as DRACULA'S DAUGHTER 1936 which was the root of cinema Sapphic overtones lol. Also BLOOD & ROSES 1960, which you may have brought up before.

Ya might like The Hunger. Stars Susan Sarandon, Catherine Deneuve, and David Bowie (lol). It’s a trip-queer, lesbian af. Not great, but fun.

Why can't we say lesbian no more? It's both etymology wise based on Grecian tales and about woman who desire other women. but yeah my favourite is vampire lovers, it seems the least fetishistic and she kills both ways.

There's nothing wrong with the term lesbian...I identify as a lesbian. Sapphic can just be seen as a more inclusive term. Lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, trans femmes, mascs, nonbinary people, and cis women can all fall under the sapphic umbrella. And it also derives from Ancient Greece, just like the term lesbian does :)

@@NightmareMaven it's no big deal, I'm not even a woman, just a bisexual 70s horror fan male autistic bloke. I'm not comfortable with the word queer but don't object to others using it on themselves. I do however object to the twins of evil movie. It sux
