May June 2021 Black bellied Whistling Duck

We are days away from hatching, I counted about 28 eggs, let me know how many you counted. As you may know Black-bellied Whistling-Duck only stay in the nest 1 day after hatching then they jump out of the nest. I will be ready to catch all the action so Like and Subscribe!

We see them a lot in North Florida mostly in early summer. They like to land on ponds and forage on the banks nearby. I haven't tried rto build nesting boxes but they seem to be almost tame while Wood Ducks will fly if you drive up.

Where's your box at- ground or up in the air and is that whole front open?

Its up around 20 to 25' off the ground, small opening with a little porch.
