Waiting for my Boston to land so re-watched this for tips. Looking forward to the kit, but hope I can do half as good a job as you made of it. Thanks for all your excellent stuff MM.
I'm just building a Revell Boston Mk.V/A-20J 1/72 scale Revell part No 04278. It is a world apart from the old Airfix that I also made as a nipper in the 70's. I love the Boston's looks too and had it on my wish list for ages but even the old Airfix kit was expensive over here in New Zealand. I got mine from the UK in the end for about 18 quid.
I'll have to look that Revell one up some time, thanks for the tip. I picked this one upfor a fair price in the local model shop. I noticed they are going for silly money on Ebay. Just have to hope the model shop survives the lockdown. Cheers MM.
I remember making a few of these and it has the code RH, which was 88 Squadron. My father was a navigator in 88 Squadron before moving to 226 and B25 Mitchells.
Made it when I was a young fella made a complete mess of it 😂 but still managed to hang it from my bedroom ceiling , you made a great job of it MM for such poor fitting kit this is what model making about 👍🇳🇿
Thanks for the appreciation....... you are right in the end this is what model making is all about. I have to keep reminding myself about that quite a lot these days. Keep it simple and enjoy. Cheers Mike, MM.
Was looking forward to another kit building video and I've not been disappointed. I think the finished result looks fairly accurate in terms of basic shape and dimensions which is a plus and the decals worked out well. Really like your bare bones basic style because there is a lot in just getting the thing finished and this wasn't the easiest kit to put together. I think mine could easily have been flying into the bin. Ahhh...UA-cam has just thrown up your Ilyushin Il 28 video, been lusting after that kit for a bit.
Glad you liked it. I was a little concerned by it's seams and gaps but all in all it's a great model. I've admired the Ilyushin since I was a kid. It's another basic build and one Airfix can be proud of given it's age. I enjoy the simple builds I kind of feel refreshed afterwards. Cheers MM.
Recently built this kit from the twenty year old stash. A real challenge with the I'll fitting parts and giant gaps in empenage. All part of the fun. And you have still spelt Douglas wrong.
I'm going cross eyed here. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow. Once I start blundering it's herd to stop. As for the stash, mine's about the same age and deep inside there are more old classics. I'll have to get digging. Cheers MM.
Wow, what a great model, you have really done this justice, and the box art is beautiful. I don't remember the Hudson when I was a kid, probably built everything else, the box is immaculate, where did you get it from?
Got this one second hand from a little model shop in Morpeth called J+J models. They really hit some goodseams of second hand stuff at times. Sadly they are locked down at the moment. Hopefuly they will survive.
Against the blue sky the model looks really great. Nice old AIRFIX kit and very well built and painted. I like it.
Glad you do. I was lucky with the sky, but it does really give it boost. Cheers MM.

Very nice old classic! Nice work!!!
Cheers, it was a joy to make something so simple but excellently designed.
The Matchbox Boston/Havoc is a sweet model. It's probably the one now boxed up as a Revell kit.

very good, liked before watching keep it up
Cheers mate, that's good to know. More on the way. MM.
It looks like a fun build of great looking aircraft with perfect purposeful lines.
Doing the old ones in a simple way really hits the nostalgia button. Cheers MM.

Ahh, models from a time when interior detail was a bit of extruded plastic for a seat and a figure. Nice job!
Cheers
