Quite possibly the most under-rated BAND, in my opinion. Why the United States market ignored this band ─ except for "Pictures of Matchstick Men" in 1968 ─ is beyond me. The band had well over twenty hit singles in Europe, consistently charting through the 1980s.
This evergreen Status Quo classic hit DID get in the UK Top Ten, reaching No9 in the the singles charts. So in the UK at least, it's not so underrated. Their baffling lack of success in the US is another matter, though. Perhaps, they just didn't tour there enough at the time.
This video depicts what the day of a Quo gig was like. Work all day, pop into record shop, meet yer mates, head off to Wembley Arena for the show. My fav Quo video! Can't beat a bit of Quo!
Hi there!! Is ur uncle Paul Jones .. Rick's lookalike? Why i am asking, is because a member of a Quo Music group badly wonders why Rick's lookalike was used. Absolutely Super Vid . Love Quo with all my heart!! Quo Forever!!! I hope i will get a reply from you. Looking forward to hearing from you.
I wasn't a look alike Godley and Creme decided he'll do. We were going to do Take me away as the next video but Phonogram realised Rock and roll instead. I was close to the girls at Quarry productions who were great, I had many great times with Rick, Alan and John.
Those bill board size video screens were a figment of our imagination in those days. Now they're all over the place! Great song and cool video. Long live Status Quo.
@@sarasarah1810 Well, I suppose a classic song can be from any era, but each to their own. As for Status Quo's music, there's just something about it baby, I like. Please excuse the awful pun, but I just couldn't resist it.
Me too! Was 2nd or 3rd year at secondary school! Absolutely BRILLIANT!!!!!! Ahh how things were back in the day, eh? Also, classic headbangin' - the stuff of church hall discos on a Saturday night all across town! Happy days!!!!
Always good to grab a note of Quo after a days work. Did you notice how many people find quo so REAL? Perfect, that probably is because the rythm of their music surely makes people happy-to-work!
I usually see these guys every year in Aberdeen, I can't believe they are still able to bounce around the stage after so many years! They are fantastic! I like getting right up to the front of the stage and totally rockin' out!
I've always loved this video he's out from below that T reg cortina in a second, you can almost smell the oil! A great version of this song quo in full flight!
@@pauljones9061yes you are that man!! I came on here to watch the video after Keith reminded me which one you were in and lo and behold here is the man himself in the comments. Fabulous! How the heck are you? Hope you're well xxx
que rolita tan chingona la banda los escucho desde los 15 años y nada se compara 100% status quo Greetings from chimalhuacan state of Mexico. they are the best group to music in english for me.
Still sounds as good now as it did in 1981 from the Never Too Late album with the wonderful Mountain Lady, Riverside, Oh Carol and Take Me Away tracks on it 👍👍👍.
You forgot their jet-fuelled, rocket-propelled version of Chuck Berry's _Carol_. Hold on to your hat before you play it! EDIT: You mentioned after all! Still, doesn't hurt to give it another plug!
This track reminds me of head banging at discos in my local parociall hall ( now long since gone ) . God be with those days . Great times and all the innocence of youth . Was their a add on telly back then for Jean's or denim that used this song ? Now ya see , from one thought to another , looking up saxons denim and leather . Rock on !
There is something romantic about reminiscing to ye olde Quo in your later years. Reminds me.of my youth playing records in your bedroom and drinking merrydown.😆😆🍺
When gigs were gigs , loud as they wanted , long as they wanted, and the first 7 rows headbanging away . Ours to cherish the young to dream of . Anyway rambling again malt time she's away 2 days

They performed in lytham st annes a few years ago and went to a care home in the area and played for a resident who was an avid fan. 🥰
Brilliant cover, smashing video. A little reminder of what it was like to be a Quo fan about 40 years ago!
Agreed. Status Quo did the definitive version, in my own humble opinion.
Seen the Quo in Belfast last night. They have more energy than some men half their age! They were brilliant!!
Great song from statusquo one of the best boogie rock band ever and i mean ever❤❤❤❤❤
I have never got tired of listening to this track ever since it was first released. Really special.
I coudn't agree more. It's a true timeless rock classic and one of their all time best hit singles. I love it.
