Hola chicos muchas gracias por el video tan útil. Este es un tema que conozco muy bien...pero.. (sí hay un pero..como siempre jejejej) .. Bueno , con este ejemplo. #9 , Pedro trabajó vente años con esta máquina.... usamos "conoce", Y este ejemplo tiene sentido para mí.. pero , why then for example when I say " yo sé hablar Aleman e Español... Usamos el verbo saber en este caso? Eso me confunde un poco... Because in both examples with Pedro and my own example, it's something we know how to do, like a learned skill, so this is where it's not quite 100% clear for me in these two cases. btw.. In German we also have two verbs meaning "to know" ..Kennen=Conocer and Wissen =Saber... but with the German I have absolutely no confusion as I do with the Spanish... Bueno ya basta con me rollo.. Muchísimas gracias de nuevo!! .. Saludos desde Colombia/Canada

Buena pregunta. Quizá lo puedas entender mejor así:
El conocimiento de idiomas es algo que se usa desde la mente. El conocimiento del uso de una máquina es mente/cuerpo.
Por cierto, con la máquina también puedes decir: Pedro sabe cómo funciona esta máquina.
Con idiomas:
Yo conozco el idioma alemán (I have a "relationship" with it), yo sé hablar aleman (I know how to speak it).

BTW, conocer is from the same Latin root as English’s cognition, defined as the "mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses" (Wikipedia). We mostly think of recognition, of course, to recognize, clearly along the same lines.
