  • 🚨 Tibialis Posterior Tendinopathy Rehab 🚨
    Definition
📚 Tibialis posterior tendinopathy is a common condition characterized by pain and dysfunction in the tibialis posterior tendon, which plays a key role in maintaining the medial arch of the foot (MLA) and supporting ankle stability. This condition is often seen in individuals with overuse injuries, particularly those involved in repetitive activities or high-impact sports.
    Pathphysiology
🤓 Tibialis posterior tendinopathy typically arises from repetitive strain or overload on the tendon, leading to microtears and subsequent degeneration. Factors contributing to this condition include excessive foot pronation, improper footwear, and sudden increases in activity levels. The degenerative process can result in pain, swelling, and decreased tendon function, ultimately impacting gait and overall mobility.
    Clinical Presentation:
😣 Patients commonly present with medial ankle pain, which may radiate into the arch of the foot. Symptoms often worsen with activity and improve with rest. Physical examination may reveal tenderness along the posterior tibial tendon, swelling, and potentially weakened foot inversion and plantar flexion.
