I copied it directly from the video: • Animal cruelty • Drug use • References to alcohol and tobacco • Injury and dismemberment • Homicide and suicide • Violence and torture • Cannibalism • Kidnapping, abduction, and captivity • Familial homicide and domestic violence • Reference to clowns (coulrophobia) • Themes of occultism and spiritualism • Audiovisual depictions of gore • Uses of sharp and pointed objects • Hospital and medical references • References to gaslighting and bullying • Body modification and/or deformation • Flashing lights (photosensitivity) • Disorientation caused by a shaking camera • Strong language and demeaning words • Reference to traffic accidents • Uses of guns and instruments of violence • Discriminatory violence • Religious torture and violence • Enforced ideology and/or actions • War and mass conflict Limbus Company is clearly VERY dark, as are the other games by Project Moon. The game is basically a road trip through the entire city (The City is, in fact, the only reliably habitable place on the planet, and is roughly the size of a single continent), finding artifacts known as the Golden Boughs and witnessing the horrors plaguing each district along the way. MILI also makes songs for each final boss, each with lyrics either describing the thoughts and feelings of either the boss or the "sinner" most associated with that boss.
The song "In Hell We Live, Lament" by Mili (Indie) (Ft. KIHOW) is a reflection on the struggles of life and longing for acceptance. The song speaks of going into the past to see all of the decisions we've made and the regrets that come with them. The chorus calls for lamenting, both for the choices that we've made and the way that life has treated us. The song reflects on how what we thought was heaven can become a source of torment and how even in the depths of hell we can still find a way to bring each other up. The song is ultimately a call to acknowledge that life can be unfair and that we can learn to find peace and acceptance in this world despite the difficulties.
Id also like to mention that that sing is not as metaphorical as you would think, in fact I'd say much of it is quite literal. "The empathic light" for instance is not a concept or metaphor, rather it's referring to a literall phenomenon, and possibly a specific person who influences it. And not in a good way.
Oh no, you've opened the floodgates. Now prepare for every mili/project moon fan under the sun to start crawling out of the woodwork to suggest more songs lmao
A really cool bit about the lyrics is that the faster segments where it is asking questions and gets extra heavy are both references to a certain thing i forget, but also they answer their questions in the second half of the chorus. If you wanted me to speak, Why'd you make my voice stutter? If you wanted me to think, Why do truths never matter? If you wanted me to carry on our dreams, Why'd you curse me with "you're a natural born genius"? If you wanted me to live, Why do deaths end my torture? If you want me to forgive, Why can't anyone feel my hurt? If you want us to pretend like we're civilized humans, Why'd you crown the most violent to be champions?
Ooh, didn't expect Mili nor Limbus here. That's nice :> I'll edit giving two personal definitions of what Limbus and Mili are. Because I feel like it. Mili is a very unique band, Cassie's way of singing isn't like any I have heard before (Kinda whispering but not really (?) and pretty high-pitched), they also have nice lyric writing, most of the times their songs have storytelling integrated into them, which personally I love. (sorry for being a sucker for lore) Bad summary of what limbus is: A dnd group of traumatized people from diverse backgrounds going through "hell" and back to finish a fetch quest (I swear the game is "good" and everyone is charismatic in their own way). It is the third game of "Project Moon", so the World/Setting is already established, which is, a horrible place to say the least, immorality and inequality everywhere, fun times. The world and character writing is their forte, Library of Ruina being by far their best game. (and the one with the most Mili songs) Guy at patron, if you're reading this, please request more Mili, you hero 🙏 (Although I feel sorry for Catharsis' monetization, cuz I know they are quite strict in that regard) Also sorry if there's bad grammar or unintentional typos, second language and all of that, making long comments tends to worsen my writing lol.
Ah, as a word of warning, there will likely soon be a flood of requests for Mili songs, and while I personally enjoy all of their songs, they all have fairly dark lyrics. At least, much darker than the songs you usually react to. While all their music is good, their Album "To Kill a Living Book" is the playlist of Boss themes from the Project Moon game by the name of 'Library of Ruina' and is the reason I started listening to Mili to begin with. Sorry for rambling, in short, all of Mili's songs are quite lyrically dark, but I would love to see you listen to and break them down if you are feeling up for it, but not if it would cause unnecessary depression. Thank you for another great reaction!
Mili is such a good group, and I highly recommend listening to more of their music. Their vocalist, Cassie Wei, has such a distinctive singing voice. They also did a lot of great music for Library of Ruina, which Limbus Company is a sequel to. The lyrics for this song were done by Cassie Wei, and most of Mili's songs tend to be similar in how their lyrics can be... strange
Like a lot of people before me said, this is about the game Limbus company. That game is in the same world as the previous made by Project Moon. And it is a REALLY mess up world. All the characters also have a dark past, with a lot of death and struggle... So this song is really fitting. Also, Mili not only have songs in Limbus Company, they also have some in the previous game, Library of Ruina. (they are doing Boss music generally, and sometime not in the way you expect...)
KIHOW and Cassie Wei (a.k.a. momocashew) play off of each other incredibly well. I've enjoyed both MYTH & ROID and Mili for years now and when this piece dropped at the end of 2021 I metaphorically lost myself in it. Mili's pieces often use simpler instrumentals with complex lyricism that tells a story. There's a few songs that have a connected story, even. I have a soft spot for Mili's word choice and the contrast of the lyrics to the instrumentals. I would suggest looking more into what Mili's released, there's a lot of pieces that aren't as blatantly dark without losing the nuance that they seek to inject into what they make. Groups like Mili are those groups that I really appreciate because they always bring out the creativity in every last release, so it rarely gets stale or falls into a "same-y" kind of vibe that we've been seeing around the mainstream recently. You noticed the "Latin" and this is where I want to provide some extra information. That was actually Italian, and reason is because as this song is for Limbus Company, the main protagonist is one of 13 "sinners", named Dante. All the sinners are based off of an classic work of literature across various nations (Moby Dick, The Metamorphosis, Crime and Punishment, The Wings, Don Quixote, etc) and Dante is based on the Italian work, Dante's Inferno. Unfortunately I can't translate it. On top of this, Mili does actually have a made-up language that is used in some of their songs. The community has come to call it things like "Milinese" or "Mililish" and often it gets compared to French and Latin. It's interesting to listen to and some of the pieces that it's used in include (but are not limited to) Rightfully, Summoning 101, Paper Bouquet, and Milk.
Great song and one I really like and a very interesting analysis, I very much enjoyed you talking about it. If you want to (and I would like it) there's another song from the same game, by the same artist, titled "Fly, my wings" (and very different musically) which is also very good, starts out possibly even sadder than this one before ending on a happier note, which I'd love if you'd cover some day
ooh i hope you listen to more Mili!! World.Execute(me); or Ga1ahad And Scientific Witchery would be a good song for anyone starting out with Mili's stuff, along with their new song Sleep Talk Metropolis!
MILI I LOVE MILI been listening to mili for years, and although i haven't played many of the games they make music for, i've been tempted to just because of how good the music is. easily one of my most listened groups of all time The pair with Myth and Roid is also amazing
For me personally I find the song uplifting. Its nihilistic in a hopeful way. "Allowing yourself to step on fire" feels so human that it gives me strength.
Welcome to the world of Mili. Where there's almost always a depressive story to a wonderful beat. I recommend if you want to listen more to Mili, listen to her cover of Colorful by HAG. It's a wonderful and hopeful song to me. Another one I like is UFO (Unidentified Flavourful Object). Mili has a way of making her lyrics have a hidden meaning and story to an almost always joyful beat. Mili's way of writing and singing works really well with Limbus Company. Just be forewarned, she tends to love to sing about food also, so make sure you're not hungry.
the music is usually constructed with multiple meanings in mind . of course other artists do that aswell purposefully or not but milis case it feels like the meanings of what story it was written for and the ones you find for yourself bounce off creating more space to think about , in a way . or so would i attempt my perception on their work .
You're always in for a different time when you check out Mili songs, haha. You might try Bulbel, another Mili song, but it's less outright depressing and instead talks about self-sacrificial behavior. Iron Lotus is one I like a lot too, and it's about moving forward in life, even with loss and regret at your back.
The dark atmosphere makes sense, considering the game where the song is used as the intro BGM. Project Moon is a rabbit hole you should be careful at jumping in. I already bought the two games on Steam and got the free one within this year.
I really enjoy Mili, I don't know many people that like her music but for me her songs move something deeply in me, it's something I am not good to bring to words but I really like music that's able to make me feel with it. I am happy to see someone give her a genuine listen and even though it's not your type of music, it was really great to listen to your thoughts about this song Maybe you can listen to Milis "Sacramentum:Unaccompanied Hymn for Torino" A song that moves me so much and proves to me how great the voice of Mili is
When I heard "someone's heaven could be the source of my torment", I thought of the city of Omelas.. and then I began to reflect on my own life, and how I'd spent time on both ends of that experience.. there's a lot to unpack there though so I'll stop here lol. Let me ask this though, would you walk away?
"these lyrics are messing with me" ah yes, the standard mili experience. you can have super bubbly song with incredibly messed up lyrics with them, it's great. they also like to add a lot of storytelling in their songs, so paying attention to the lyrics is important. you might want to check sustain++ and world.execute (me), those two have a lot of interesting musical components. chocological too, for the seemingly off-beat rhythm.
project moon world is pretty dark. a city that almost defile everything. human can be treated like livestock for food and garment. a district exist on the cannibal economy. a company exist to take you anywhere in seconds. a district where you don't even have the right to have and see colour. a religion that give protection to the weak by giving random order of their god. the world of project moon fascinating a dystopia inspired by stuff like scp. mili is the recurring artist that provide ost for project moon game. so expect see her a lot and some dark lyric.
This song can be said to be Chapter 1 vibes, it talks about the "sinners", their manager, and the "fruit" is an obvious note to the boss of that same chapter. I would not recommend the game for you (simply because it can be a trigger), but if you are prepared for pain and suffering begin something normal and accepted (in-game), Project Moon is the way.
This man has no idea how bad things are in the project moon universe, still Mili is absolutely perfect in the music they make and for the games project moon made, you should look into the games a bit
I did pick up on those, but I kind of thought it was an obvious line to draw. I suppose I should have said something so people knew I picked up on it 😂
There's a interesting bit in the lyrics. You have a series of "If you wanted..." questions, and later there are their corresponding "then why...: If you wanted me to speak Why'd you make my voice stutter If you wanted me to think Why does truth never matter etc.
You should look at the game's content warnings lol. Just note that "traffic accident" is one warning that does not apply to the game, because "accident" implies lack of intent.

Hmm… Will we see a new Manager being made right here? If so, let us welcome him, to our Wing. Face the Sin, Save the E.G.O.
MILI
I LOVE MILI
been listening to mili for years, and although i haven't played many of the games they make music for, i've been tempted to just because of how good the music is. easily one of my most listened groups of all time
The pair with Myth and Roid is also amazing
For me personally I find the song uplifting. Its nihilistic in a hopeful way.
"Allowing yourself to step on fire" feels so human that it gives me strength.
Limbus Company les goo! You should check out the Dongbaek boss theme 😊
Mili is an aquired taste for sure
I reccomend Birthdaykid for a casual listening if you got curious for more
birth of a new mili enjoyer
The new version released a few days ago is a banger too. Give it a listen.
Iron Lotus is one I like a lot too, and it's about moving forward in life, even with loss and regret at your back.
there is a new version that just dropped, of between two worlds as well, i think you should check it out...
fun fact, the ifs and whys line up, "if you wanted me to speak" and "why did you make my voice stutter" are an example
I am happy to see someone give her a genuine listen and even though it's not your type of music, it was really great to listen to your thoughts about this song
Maybe you can listen to Milis "Sacramentum:Unaccompanied Hymn for Torino" A song that moves me so much and proves to me how great the voice of Mili is
welp, a new masterpiece droped for PGR
【Polyblue】Evans Gambit「Punishing: Gray Raven OST - 镜焰迷城」
LIEEEEEEMBUS COMPANEEEEEEEEEEEEYEEEEEH
Danteh
we downloading the game with this one 🗣
oooh yeah time to be down to this rabbit hole
btw if you don't know the non vocal version of this song is used for the starting menu for limbus company game
I like your take, it’s part of my playlist. (Might be how I got connected to your channel though the algorithm)
Mili stuff? Quick everyone! Drag them into the PM fandom before he escapes!
Nail on the head in regards to the child soilder comment considering one of the Mcs (gregor) was an child soilder
The 3 games from project moon has featured amazing and dynamic music that fits the theme of the game
Between Two Worlds has to be next, prepare for more darkness.
When I heard "someone's heaven could be the source of my torment", I thought of the city of Omelas.. and then I began to reflect on my own life, and how I'd spent time on both ends of that experience.. there's a lot to unpack there though so I'll stop here lol. Let me ask this though, would you walk away?
i recommend the song "From the place of love" its very good song, and is very remembered by Library of Ruina player
Aw hell nah you horrible person
the near quiet voice made this song even better
If you want to feel emotional, I recommend Fly My Wings or Iron Lotus
Yeah, it's a grimdark setting where I can't imagine Hell looking much worse.
Holy crap, he did Mili.
Based patron. Let us drive more people to the project moon and mili rabbit hole.
Yea MIli songs arer amazing they always story full and twisted to some degree
project moon world is pretty dark. a city that almost defile everything. human can be treated like livestock for food and garment. a district exist on the cannibal economy. a company exist to take you anywhere in seconds. a district where you don't even have the right to have and see colour. a religion that give protection to the weak by giving random order of their god. the world of project moon fascinating a dystopia inspired by stuff like scp. mili is the recurring artist that provide ost for project moon game. so expect see her a lot and some dark lyric.
I would disagree that the city is inspired by scp
Lobcorp on the other hand is
This song can be said to be Chapter 1 vibes, it talks about the "sinners", their manager, and the "fruit" is an obvious note to the boss of that same chapter.
I would not recommend the game for you (simply because it can be a trigger), but if you are prepared for pain and suffering begin something normal and accepted (in-game), Project Moon is the way.
This song is simply amazing, because it theoretically spoils the story for the game. While also describing the series as a whole.
Fool, what have you done? The prescript has been given; they're coming.
Now its only so long before we get the reactions to Iron Lotus and Children of the City
This man has no idea how bad things are in the project moon universe, still Mili is absolutely perfect in the music they make and for the games project moon made, you should look into the games a bit
Nobody's talking about the conection between the "if you wanted me to..." and "the Why's"? No? Okay then.
Big respect for your opinion btw.
I did pick up on those, but I kind of thought it was an obvious line to draw. I suppose I should have said something so people knew I picked up on it 😂
And now, how about reaction on Limbus Company or other Mili songs from this and previous games?
There's a interesting bit in the lyrics.
You have a series of "If you wanted..." questions, and later there are their corresponding "then why...:
If you wanted me to speak
Why'd you make my voice stutter
If you wanted me to think
Why does truth never matter
etc.
mili is anothe music group while limbus company is a gacha made by the devs of project moon makers of lobotomy corporation and library of ruina
Someone whow him Gone Angels
PM MENTIONED IN MY FYP
You need to look up the new black shape song everyone’s been reacting to it’s crazy deep too
I was waiting for this one
Ive always loved myth and roid since Re Zero.
Welcome to the PM rabbit hole, ur duration of stay is *eternal.*
please proceed to fall into Mili rabbit hole and cheers on the depresso
oh nice the loading music
Its Mili time lets gooo
Aww yeah, another one added to the hive mind.
Child Sold-er not gonna made top 10 most mess up thing in this game, i'm promise.
omg I love mili! Based patron lol
The other version is sounds even darker
play Library of Ruina, the song very much fits it (it's from the spinoff game Limbus Company)
You should look at the game's content warnings lol.
Just note that "traffic accident" is one warning that does not apply to the game, because "accident" implies lack of intent.
Please try to give a listen to String Theocracy, also from Mili!
Someone didn't check the playlist 👀
So how long until someone requests "From a Place of Love"? 😅
Talk after the song...
Listen to the song before watching reactions 😏
Project Moon fans… rise from your graves, drown this man with the sound of a million song requests
🎉
i watch your video sometimes when i see you react some songs i know...
i never have any thought in my mind you will do this one
dont listen to me, im bad ad giving recommendation
but i think you might like the other song from mili, not just from the limbus comp
No, the world is definitely not good to live in. Either you are lucky and you are born into a rich city protected by a big corporation with some kind of invention or you are outside the city and will maybe die at night if you are unlucky
"Things aren't going well in this world are they ?"
MAN you have NO idea how much you were right
Listen to LoveTown
Then look out for its story
And look up for a psy....
Been there 👀
@@CatharsisYT I'm slowly watching all your videos about it ! Can't to catch up to Lovetown
welcome to project moon
please enjoy your mental damage
Dark is a harsh word for truthful. I believe that this is how our society is and I just accept it as a common fact and continue doing my buisiness without the slightest change. And I think that everyone should just accept it and move on.
This is this and that is that, and that's everything there is to it
That's amazing. you should listen to Lo- wait... We don't talk about love town.
