@gargy2002 Not helicopter rated, but I’d be willing to believe there was a governor/engine problem. That looks like an Agusta. Near sea level on a not-crazy-hot day with three aboard - yeah the pilot probably had know reason to believe he’d run out of power. If he ran “out of power” in those conditions, I would think there was something wrong with the ship. But also, it looked the pad was right next to a slightly taller building. He may not have been paying attention to indications that wind was being affected and ended up in a downwind LTE jam. Either way, I believe you’re spot on right about the proper reaction. The first sign of LTE (Wow that seems like way too much pedal), lower collective to either plant it on the pad, or get forward motion a fly away.

He's very well respected, and wouldn't have it n e other way. USC general has come A Looong way.

I hope the person who needs the heart gets better and has an interesting story. Hope the crew is okay as well. I worked EMS for over a decade and was often transporting crews from LZs to hospital and back to their chopper with their patient, scary stuff.
Did the tail rotor fail? That would potentially explain the spin out. For non aviation peeps I’ll explain it simply: the tail rotor cancels out the torque the top rotor causes when it spins

They lucked out on many levels. Helicopter didn't roll off the roof, all occupants were able to exit wreckage on their own and the organ transplant was not affected by the loss of the organ.
