    I agree wrestlers have great conditioning. It could be hard to fight one of them. My grandfather was a blind man and a wrestling champion in school. He took down a man who was threatening his daughter, my mother, years ago who could see and bigger than he, using his wrestling skill with no problem and put him in a hold until he agreed to leave.

    This seems like it would go well with dirty boxing, correct me if i'm wrong though. Some of these things you would see in judo, like instead of grabbing your collar or somewhere close to your neck, often they will do an explosive movement that's more like a slap that continues into the grab. It stings, disorients, works well. I haven't seen any videos on your channel that explain dirty boxing techniques, such as clinching and moving their arms out of the way in order to land strikes, or stomping their feet to get them off balance. Granted i haven't watched that much of your content so those techniques i just mentioned could very well already be on the channel. Anyways, good stuff, keep up the good work, peace : D

      @@schoolofselfprotection Very good. But I think you should have your assistant demonstrate the techniques on you, while you describe the technique and do the talking. Then it is still clear that you are the instructor and have the knowledge but in addition it always looks better when the smaller man is demonstrating the techniques on a larger man. And contrarily, it does not look very good or so convincing when a large muscular man like yourself is demonstrating the techniques on a man who is smaller and weaker.

    That inside elbow strike is so effective. Even if it doesn't hurt that much it's great as a distraction or getting someone off balance for a split second. Used it in Krav before and it definitely works in close quarters situations.

      Elbow close range always hurts

    • @fifthlevelbard9541
      @fifthlevelbard9541 Рік тому +2

      Elbows are the secret strike that the average, under trained person doesn't expect. When people grab you on the street, for the other guy it's a grappling contest. They're not expecting anything at this close range to do any damage (they're used to big over hand swings and what not.) What they're trying to do is pick you up and slam you on the ground. If you train pummeling properly, (read: _if you train like this)_ you can reduce that likelihood and maneuver that elbow onto a softer target like the knock out button on the side of the jaw or the orbital, and it's fight-over typically. Blood in the eyes, searing pain or just straight up knocked out is usually the result. Average people don't *typically* have the discipline to fight through pain like that, or know how to take a strike in such a way to remain with their legs underneath them. You also have to *act quickly* because if they're strong enough, *they will pick you up.* There are techniques in judo (I can hear the rage now) that can help you eliminate that threat. Keep training. Stay safe.

    The "Imagine Spikes Everywhere" thing is a very real concept. They have a concept called "Thorny King Kung Fu" that teaches you to use all the little parts of your body to cause pain in the clinch and when blocking. Basically, if you go to kick someone who knows "Thorny King" you are probably going to just hurt your foot.
